- Congratulations on purchasing the PSS-SX01. This installation manual is designed to give you an overview of how to install the PSS-SX01. Please familiarize yourself with the owners manual before attempting the installation. If you still have additional questions please call 1-800-TECH-101.

- The installation of this product requires specialized skills and experience. We recommend that you have the product installed by an Alpine authorized dealer.
- Before you use this product, be sure to carefully read this installation manual and the separate user’s manual so that you can use the product correctly. Alpine Electronics bears no responsibility for problems that arise as a result of failure to follow the instructions in the manuals.
- This manual includes a number of symbols that are intended to help you use the product safely, to prevent harm to you and others, and to protect against damage to property. These symbols and their meanings are listed below. Make sure you fully understand these symbols before you begin reading the main text.

Do not disassemble or modify the product.
Doing so could lead to an accident, lire, or electric shock. -
Store screws and other small objects where children cannot reach them. If one of those small objects is swallowed, consult with a doctor immediately.

When replacing fuses be sure to use the fuses with the specified current rating. Falling to do so could lead to an accident or lire.

Only connect the product to a 12 voe negative ground car. Failing to do so could lead to an accident or fire.

Do not cut the Insulation on a cord and take power from another device. Doing so could lead to fire or electric shock.

Do not Install the product In a location where it willl obstruct the driver’s forward view;Interfere with the operation of the steering wheel, gear shift, or the like; or pose a threat to passengers. Doing so could lead to an accident or injury.

When careful making to avoid a hole damaging
In the pipes vehicle, the body, fuel tank, ~ electrical wiring, and the like. This kind of damage could lead to an accident or fire. -
When installing and grounding the product, do not use any of the bolts or nuts of the steering wheel, brakes, fuel tank, or the like. Doing so could make the brakes stop working or could lead to fire.

Do not Install the product near the passenger-side airbag. Doing so could interfere with the operation of the airbag and lead to an accl-dent or injury.

Bundle cords so that they don’t interfere with driving. Wrapping cords around the steer-ing wheel, gearshift, brake pedal, or the like could lead to an accident or damage equip-ment.
Caution
- Connect the product properly according to the instructions. Failing to do so could lead to lire or an accident.
- Do not sandwich cords between the seat railing or allow them to touch protrusions. Re-suiting breaks or shons could lead to electric shock or lire.
- Do not block vents or heat sinks. Doing so could lead to lire or damage equipment.
- Use the accessories according to the instructions, and attach them securely. Failing to do so could lead to an accident or damage equipment.
- Do not install the product where II may be exposed to water or in a place with high levels of humidity or dust. Doing so could lead to lire or damage equipment.
- The installation and wiring of this product re-quires speclallzed skills and experience. Have the product installed by an Alpine authorized dealer.

- Open the settings menu of the phone.
- Go to the Bluetooth settings and make sure it’s turned on.
- Scan for devices.
- The phone will find KTX-BT100.
- Select KTX-BT100 f>n the phone· to pair to it.

Troubleshooting Guide
Symptom | Possible Cause | Remedy |

System will not turn on.
| Missing or blown fuse at the battery.|
Insert or replace fuse.
Amp’s Remote Turn-On wire may be disconnected.
| Use a digital multimeter on the Blue/White remote wire to ensure it gets +12V positive
when the audio system is on. If not trace the wire and correct the connection.
Amp +12V constant wire not getting voltage.
| Test the Yellow +12V constant wire with a digital multimeter to ensure it is getting
+12V at all times. Trace the wire to the fused
battery source.

Output is low.
|
Amplifier gain is not adjusted properly.
|
Adjust the gain to where it should be according to your specific system setup.
Signal input to the amp is not good.
|
Use a known good RCA input into the amplifier to see if that works.

One of the speakers is not working.
|
Disconnected pin or loose connection.
| Check all connections to the speaker, loose pins, disconnected terminals etc.. Swap around the speakers for the working one to
see if that works.
Amp channel not installed properly.
| Swap the left and right RCA’s to see if the other side works. If so the installation of the
other amp channel needs to be gone over.

Congratulations on your purchase of high quality speakers from Alpine. Your
listening satisfaction is important to us. In order to maximize and maintain
peak speaker performance the following guidelines are being provided. Please
read this notice careful’ly before operating the speakers.
- Do not over-drive the amplifier. Over-driving the amplifier will result in distortion or clipping and can damage any speaker.
- Make sure gain controls are properly set. (Follow instructions in amplifier owner’s manual.)
- Make sure that the speaker is properly rated for the amplifier.
- Make sure that volume, bass, treble, equalization or crossover settings do not cause the amplifier to over-drive.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in burned or damaged speaker
voice coils which will void your warranty.
If further assistance is necessary, please contact your Alpine authorized
dealer.
LIMITED WARRANT
PRODUCTS COVERED:
This Limited Warranty (“Limited Wammty”) covers Alpine Oar Audio Products and•
Related Accessories (the “Product”), Products purchased in Canada are covered
only in Canada. Products purchased in the U.S.A. are covered only in the
U.S.A.
LENGTH OF WARRANTY:
This Warranty is in effect for one year (1) from the date of the original
retail purchase on the Product.
WHO IS COVERED:
This Warranty only covers the original purchaser of the Product, who must
reside in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.
WHAT IS COVERED:
This Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship (parts and labor),
under normal use, In the Product.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
This Limited Warranty does not cover the following:
<D Damage occurring during shipment of the Product to Alpine for repair
(claims must be presented to the carrier).
® Damage caused by normal wear and tear, ae<:ldents or abuse, including burned
voice coils caused by over-driving the speaker (amplifier level is turned up
and driven into distortion or clipping). Speaker mechanical failure (e.g.
punctures, tears or rips). Cracked or damaged LCD panels. Dropped or damaged
hard drives.
- Damage caused by negligence, misuse, improper operation or failure to follow Instructions contained in the Owner’s manual.
- Damage caused by an act of God, including without limitation, earthquake, fire, flood, storms or other acts of nature. Any cost or expense related to the removal or reinstallation of the Product.
- Service perronned by an unauthorized person, company or association.
- Any Product which has the serial number defaced, altered or removed.
- Any Product which has been adjusted, disassembled, altered or modified without Alpine’s consent.
- A.ny Product not distributed by Alpine within the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.
- Any Product not p11rchased frum an Authorlaed Alpine Dealer.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE:
© You are responsible for delivery of the Product to an Authorized Alpine
Service Center or Alpine for repair and for payment of any initial shipping
charges. Alpine will, at its optlon, repair or replace the Product with a new
or reconditioned product without charge. If the repairs are covered by this
Limited Warranty, and if the Product was shipped to an Authorized Alpine
Service Center or Alpine, Alpine will pay the return shipping charges. The
repaired or replaced Product will continue to be covered under the original
Umited Warranty period.
You should provide a detailed description of the problem(s) for which service
is required.
You must supply proof of your purchase of the Product.
You must package the Product securely to avoid damage during shipment. To
prevent lost packages, it is recommended to use a carrier that provides a
tracking service.
HOW WE LIMIT IMPLIED WARRANTIES:
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING FITNESS. FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND
MERCHANTABILITY ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE PERIOD OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY
SET FORTH ABOVE ANO NO PERSON OR THIRD PARTY IS AUTHORIZED TO ADD TO, MODIFY,
OR EXTEND THE TERMS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND/OR ASSUME FOR ALPINE ANY
OTHER LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE OF THE PRODUCT.
HOW WE EXCLUDE CERTAIN DAMAGES:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PE:RMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALPINE AND ITS PARENT
COMPANY, AFFILIATES, ANO SUBSIDIARIES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM LIABILITY TO YOU
UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY FOR ALL INCIDENTAL INDIRECT DAMAGES, SPECIAL,
PUNITIVE, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHICH MAY BE INCURRED BY YOU IN RELATION
TO THE PRODUCT. THE TERM INCIDENTAL DAMAGES INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO,
COSTS AND EXPENSES OF TRANSPORTING THE PRODUCT TO THE ALPINE SERVICE CENTER,
LOSS OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER’S TIME, LOSS OF THE USE OF THE PRODUCT, BUS
FARES, CAR RENTALS OR OTHER COSTS RELATING TO THE CARE AND CUSTODY
OF THE PRODUCT. THE TERM CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES lNCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED
TO,
THE COST OF REPAIRING OR REPLACING OTHER PROPERTY WHICH IS DAMAGED WHEN THIS
PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW,
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND THE REMEDIES PROVIDED HEREUNDER ARE EXCLUSIVE ANO IN
LIEU OF ALL OTHERS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE
TOTAL LIABILITY OF ALPINE, ITS PARENT COMPANY, AFFILIATIES, AND SUBSIDIARIES
IN CONNECTION WITH THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ANO/OR THE PRODUCT SHALL NOT EXCEED
THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE PRODUCT.
HOW STATE/PROVINCIAL LAW RELATES TO THE
LIMITED WARRANTY:
This limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state and province to province. In
addition, some states/ provinces do not allow limitations on how long an
Implied warranty lasts, and some do not allow the el(clusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, limitations
as to these matters contained herein may not apply to you.
If any of the teTTT1s of this limited Warranty are held to be null, void,
illegal or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining terms of this Limited
Warranty will remain in full force and effect.
