Step 1: Choose your pad style
Assess your clients positioning needs and choose the appropriate head support style. Consider the contour to encourage the clients head in midline.
Step 2
Measure the clients head and choose the appropriate head support for client’s needs (considering positioning, transportation, functionality and comfort). Complete head support pad specifications can be found in the Appendix of this guide.
Step 3
Does your client require assistance in and out of the wheelchair with transfers? If so, consider a flip-back option.
Step 4
Position the in-built occipital shaping beneath the occipital protuberance. This support encourages the head to return to a neutral position.
