Benefit from extensive functions. The IB-382H-C31 is a USB 3.1 (Gen2)
Type-C® enclosure for a 2.5″ or 3.5″ SSD or HDD with integrated USB 3.1 (Gen2) hub. As a fast external data storage device or for port expansion, the IB- 382H-C31 offers both!

1x IB-382H-C31, 1x power supply, 1x USB Type-C® to Type-C® cable, 1x USB Type-C® to Type-A cable, 1x screw set, 1x screw driver, 1x stand, 1x manual

System requirements
At least one free USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-C® or Type-A port, alternatively one free Thunderbolt™ 3 port and at least one free 230 V ES socket.

Please note the following information about the compatibility of this USB device!

  • The Type-C® or Type-A port on your computer or notebook can be equipped with USB 3.0 or 2.0 standard. The IB-382H-C31 only supplies the full data transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s to USB 3.1 (Gen2) interfaces.
  • The IB-382H-C31 also works with computers and notebooks with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 interfaces.
  • The enclosure also works on devices with a Thunderbolt™ 3 interface with the transfer rate of up to 10 Gbit/s specified by USB 3.1 (Gen2).

Drive Installation

This device supports only M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs with M.2 M-Key!

  1. Unscrew the two black screws of the back panel on the back side of the enclosure with the delivered screw driver.

  2. Remove the inner frame of the enclosure.

  3. Carefully insert your HDD or SSD into the SATA connector of the frame.

  4. Screw your HDD or SSD to the frame from the side using the provided screws.

  5. Slide the frame, including the installed drive, into the aluminium housing.

  6. Fix the back panel with the two black screws using the provided screw driver. Pay attention to the correct alignment of the back panel.

  7. Connect the power supply to the power supply connection (1.) of the IB 382H-C31.

  8. Connect the power supply of the IB-382H-C31 with a standard 230 V EU socket.

  9. Connect the USB Type-C® to USB Type-C® or the USB Type-C® to USB Type-A cable to the IB-382H-C31 (3.).
    Attention! The cable must be connected to the Type-C® connector (3.) of the enclosure marked „PC“.

  10. Connect the USB cable to your host computer.

  1. . Now set the ON/OFF switch (2.) to „ON“. The IB-382H-C31 including the installed HDD/SSD will now be automatically recognized by the operating system.

  2. Connect your USB devices to the 1x USB Type-C® (4.) and 2x USB Type-A (5.) connectors as required.

Starting up

  1. Connect the power supply to the power supply connection (1.) of the IB-382H-C31.

  2. Connect the power supply of the IB-382H-C31 with a standard 230 V EU socket.

  3. Connect the USB Type-C® to USB Type-C® or the USB Type-C® to USB Type-A cable to the IB-382H-C31.
    Hint :
    Choose the cable according to the type of your USB 3.1 (Gen2) port on the host computer.
    • USB Type-C® to USB Type-C® cable for USB Type-C® port on the host computer
    • USB Type-C® to USB Type-A cable for USB Type-A port on host computer
    Attention!
    The cable must be connected to the Type-C® connector (3.) of the enclosure marked “PC”.

  4. Connect the USB cable to your host computer.

  5. Now set the ON/OFF switch (2.) to “ON”. The IB-382H-C31 including the installed HDD/SSD will now be automatically recognized by the operating system.
    Hint :
    Drives must be initialized and have active partitions so that they are immediately recognized as data carriers in the operating system. If this is not the case, initialize the drives in the disk management of your operating system.
    The full USB 3.1 (Gen2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a compatible USB 3.1 (Gen2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.1 drivers must be installed by the operating system. If this is not the case, install the appropriate drivers for your operating system (Windows®, macOS®).

  6. Now connect your USB devices to the 1x USB Type-C® and 2x USB Type-A connectors as required.
