Introduction
The iconic French press coffee maker created in the 1950s is a true original: CHAMBORD. And we continue to create it with the same meticulous craftsmanship we applied to the original back in the day. This Chambord model has a SAN Shatterproof Beaker in addition to being constructed with the same care and quality. The SAN beaker is shatterproof, recyclable, and makes a cup that is even cleaner than glass French presses. Since the 1950s, the only thing that has changed about the production process is our dedication to the highest standards of ecologically responsible manufacturing, which is crucial during the chrome plating process.

Instructions for use
Please read these instructions carefully before you use your device for the first time.
Retain these user instructions for future reference.
- Version 1: Place pot on a dry, flat, non-slip surface. Hold handle firmly, then pull the plunger unit straight up and out of the pot.
Version 2: Place pot on a dry, flat, non-slip surface. Hold han-dle firmly. Turn the lid counter clockwise to unlock, then pull the plunger unit straight up and out of the pot.
Note
Insure the filter unit is properly assembled before use.
- For each cup (1.25 dl or 4 oz), put 1 rounded tbsp or 1 BODUM® scoop of coarse ground coffee into the pot. CAUTION: Use only coarse ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter and create high pressure. Place coffee maker on a heat proof, non-slip surface.
- Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 2,5 cm/1 inch of space at the top. Stir the brew with a plastic spoon. CAUTION: Metal spoons can scratch or chip the beaker and cause damage.
- Version 1: Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. (Does not apply to the BRAZIL models). Do not press down.
Version 2: Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn the lid clockwise to gently snap into the lock. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for at least 4 min.
- Hold the pot handle firmly with the spout turned away from you, then using just the weight of your hand, apply slight pressure on top of the knob to lower the plunger straight down into the pot. Lowering the plunger slowly with minimal pressure produces best results. If the filter clogs or it becomes difficult to push down the plunger you should remove the plunger from the pot, stir the brew and then slowly plunge again. WARNING: Using excessive force can cause scalding liquid to shoot out of the pot.
- Version 1: Turn the lid to open the spout and then pour coffee.
Version 2: Assure lid is in locked position before pouring. Press the lever on the locking lid to open the spout and then pour the coffee.
- Cleaning – Unscrew the filter assembly and clean the plunger unit after each use. Only the filter, glass, plastic and chrome parts are dish-washer safe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make tea from leaves?****
To strain tea leaves and create a perfect pot of tea, use the press’s fine- mesh screen. Ensure that the screen is well cleaned to get rid of coffee brewing oils if the press is also used to prepare coffee.
How many filters are there on this?****
Paper filters are not used, which is superfluous. The included metal strainer does a good job of separating the water from the ground coffee beans.
Is this compatible with K-cup coffee?****
With 12 ounces, it would be an alternative to a single cup brewer. Loose tea and coffee. In mine, I use espresso and coffee. When diving with fine grounds, take care. Slowly. May need to stir. Regarding K-cups, I don’t see any benefit over what you’d anticipate from using those in a French press.
How do you tell when your French press coffee is done?****
Pour the French Press’s freshly brewed coffee into the mug after the plunger has reached the bottom, and then sip it.
How long should you leave the French press on?****
A bitter cup of coffee is likely to result if the French Press is simply left to brew for a long period of time on the counter. For four minutes, you want the grounds and hot water to mix. Nothing more or less
Can a French press be left on overnight?****
As you may expect, using cold water is necessary for producing a cold-brew French press. As the coffee grounds require more time to steep, it also implies more time. The ideal time to do this is over night.
What occurs if coffee in a French Press is left overnight?****
After plunging, if you leave some liquid coffee in the press, it will continue to extract more, making the coffee progressively bitterer. Instead, as soon as the coffee is finished brewing, you should always immediately pour out the entire batch.
Does this filter have two layers?****
I’m unsure if the filter qualifies as “double.” When the pouring mechanisms are in alignment, I’ve noticed that the filter’s screening is tightly woven and that no grounds ever make it into my coffee cup.
Is this a plastic or glass carafe?****
Glass and a metal frame are used. Plastic and metal are mixed in the top.
Is it safe to put this in the dishwasher?****
It is safe for the dishwasher, yes.
Is Portugal still where this press is made?****
Yes, Portugal is where this item was produced.
