Cut Out
NOTE: This is the most important part of the entire installation. If you are not certain whether any obstructions exist behind the desired mounting area, you should start by cutting a small hole in the center of your penciled mounting hole with a drywall saw.
Using the Cut-Out dimensions measure and trace a template on the wall in the desired location. Cut along the traced line using a drywall saw or rotary drill. Use a piece of sandpaper to sand down the cut-out edge for a smoother contour. (See Diagram 1.)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this intended to be installed prior to or following the installation of drywall?
After the drywall has been installed.
Does this subwoofer need its own amp or can it be powered by the home theatre receiver?
It needs a separate amp.
Can you put a subwoofer in a wall?
If you only have a single subwoofer, we advise mounting it on the front wall, ideally towards one of the front corners. The subwoofer will better couple to the space if it is placed in a corner, increasing bass impact.
Is it better to have a built-in subwoofer?
The main benefit is convenience; soundbases extend the soundbar’s “plug and play” feature. It does away with the necessity to even set up a different sub. Additionally, the sound quality is generally superior.
What is an in-wall subwoofer?
The enclosure is installed behind the wall to provide exceptional performance with little visible interference. Modern engineering and cutting-edge components provide the bass of a huge cabinet subwoofer without taking up more floor space.
Is there an in-ceiling subwoofer?
If an in-ceiling subwoofer that is mounted in the middle of a wall (or ceiling) is moved up the wall (across the ceiling) until it is next to the ceiling, it will gain 3dB of bass (wall).
Where should you not put a subwoofer?
The left and right front speakers should be 4 to 5 feet apart from the subwoofer. Consequently, my next piece of advice is to avoid placing the subwoofer in a corner.
Can subwoofer damage walls?
Yes, over time, lower frequency sounds produced by a subwoofer at even moderate volumes can develop fractures in plaster walls or along drywall seams, but if the volume is high enough and the frequency resonates within the structures, it can happen rapidly.
Do built-in speakers increase home value?
Even if you don’t have any immediate plans to move or sell, a built-in audio system will increase the value of your home if you ever decide to list it for sale. Customers will think they are receiving an added benefit if there are stylish in-wall or in-ceiling speakers.
Which is more powerful woofer or subwoofer?
Due to their emphasis on lower frequency waves, subwoofers consume a lot more power.
Is it better to get a soundbar with built-in subwoofer?
A subwoofer is not necessary for a soundbar to sound nice. Soundbars include numerous internal speakers that can provide amazing sound on their own, but many soundbars struggle to produce low frequencies without the assistance of a subwoofer.
Are in-wall speakers better?
Quality in-wall or in-ceiling speakers have many advantages for a home theatre system when they are installed properly.
Is subwoofer better than speaker?
All frequencies of the audio have enhanced overall quality. Because the subwoofer puts less strain on your speakers, you can increase the volume without experiencing distortion. The audio is crisper and clearer than with full-range speakers because the subwoofer concentrates on a different frequency band.
