General
The radiator is designed for operation on an AC electricity supply, and is
suitable for use in domestic dwellings and similar indoor locations.
The radiator is fitted with castors and handles for ease of movement. An heat
selection switch and room sensing thermostat provides the ability to select
power output and to accurately control the room temperature.
The radiator is also fitted with a 24 hour timer to provide the option to
programmable on and off heating periods. It is supplied with a cord and plug
and is ready for use once the castors have been correctly fitted.
Assembly
WARNING The radiator must only be operated with the wheels and castors
securely fitted and in the upright position.
WARNING The radiator is heavy – ensure that it is supported to prevent it
from toppling. Ask a second person to help with this if necessary.
- Open the packaging and remove the product.
- Turn the radiator upside down on a carpet or other soft surface to avoid damage
- Position the castors in position and secure using the wing bolts. There are alignment guides to ensure the correct positioning and orientation of the castor plate.
- Return the radiator to the correct orientation so it rests on the castors.
- The product is now ready for use, always ensure the product is on a flat stable surface when in use.
Cable Storage
- There is a cable storage compartment located at the bottom of the control panel,
- To access the cable storage box, pull the cable storage box door to open,
- When the product is not in use neatly coil the cable around the outside of the storage box and position the plug in the centre. The storage box door can then be closed,
- While the product is in operation, the cable must be fully uncoiled. The cable should be positioned towards the bottom of the cable wrap box so the door can be closed.
- The cable can be positioned to exit the product from the left or right hand side.
WARNING The supply cord must be fully uncoiled before use.
Operation
Before using the heater ensure that all warnings and instructions have been
read carefully.
IMPORTANT: OBJECTS OR CLOTHING MUST NOT BE PLACED ON THIS HEATER.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT OPERATE WITHOUT CASTORS FITTED.
When the appliance is plugged in the Neon indicator will illuminate to
indicate that the unit is powered up and ready for use. Use the heat selection
knob to select the desired heat output. The thermostat dial can be used to set
the desired room temperature, this will automatically regulate the appliance
output to maintain a steady room temperature.
Note: On initial power up please ensure the thermostat dial is set to the
Max position. If the thermostat is set lower than the current room temperature
the appliance will not energise.
IMPORTANT: The element has been coated with a protective film which will burn off during the first few minutes of use and may cause a small amount of fuming. This is quite normal – the fumes are non-toxic and will quickly disappear. We recommend that you open a window to ventilate the room when using the heater for the first time.
Positioning the Heater
WARNING: Always ensure the information outlined in IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION section is strictly adhered to.
Always ensure that the heater is stood on a firm, level base near to, but not
directly underneath a suitable mains supply socket.
Select the position for the heater ensuring there is clearance from any
furniture and fittings of at least 300mm above the heater and 150mm each side
and 300mm from the control and end panel. We recommend maximising the
clearance where possible.
Controls
Thermostat
The Thermostat regulates the heat output relative to the desired room
temperature. This ensures that the heater will not produce heat unnecessarily
when the room is warm. To set the temperature required, turn the thermostat
knob clockwise until the required setting is reached.
Alternatively to heat a cold room quickly, turn the thermostat knob to the Max
position. When the room has reached the desired temperature, slowly turn the
thermostat knob anti-clockwise until the thermostat clicks off. the thermostat
is now set and will automatically operate to maintain the room at this
temperature.
The thermostat also has a frost protection setting marked . This setting is
useful in areas such as garages, to prevent frost damage. If the thermostat is
set to its minimum setting , the heater will cycle on and off to maintain a
temperature of approximately 5° to help protect against frost.
Off/Heat Selection
Heat selection is provided via a rotary switch offering three settings. The heat output can be altered to suit the application, conditions and to improve the economy of operation.
Available output options are as follows:
Switch setting | |
---|---|
Model | O |
FutM2TSTi | Off |
FutM3TSTi | Off |
Timer
The timer can be used to set on/off timers during a 24hout period. The on/off period must be set in minimum blocks of 15 minutes, these can be combined to deliver longer on/off periods. To ensure accurate operation of the timer the user must first set the correct time.
Setting the time of day
To set the time of day, rotate the timer dial clockwise (indicated by the
arrow) until the correct time of day is opposite the reference mark . The
24-hour clock is used ; e.g. time shown for 4 pm is ‘16’ (16:00hrs).
Operation Modes
Set the operation mode using the slide switch.
Position I – Manual operation
This is a continuous operation mode, the output will not be influenced by the
timer segment settings. The heat selector switch and thermostat will control
as normal.
Position – ‘Auto’ operation
This setting will automatically switch the appliance ON and OFF according to
the set program.
DO NOT disconnect this heater from the mains supply unless it is being taken out of use (e.g. in summer or for storage), otherwise the timer clock will stop. It will be required to reset the time of day before the next use.
Setting the Timer
- Segments pushed in are considered OFF, there will be no heat output. All other segments will be ON. For example, the image, right, shows the timer set to switch the heater OFF between 11pm and 1.45am, the remainder it will be ON.
- Using a finger tip or a suitable item, push in timer segments as required, according to the times where heat is not required.
- These settings will be repeated every day.
- To change ON and OFF times, simply push in any ‘ON’ segments you wish to cancel or pull out new ‘ON’ segments as required.
Note: each segment represents 15minute period
Safety Features & Additional
This appliance incorporates a number of safety devices. In addition to the ‘Important Safety Advice’ section your attention is drawn to the following
Tilt Switch
The tilt switch will prevent the heater from working if it is accidentally
tipped over on its side.
If the radiator is tipped over while it is hot, disconnect the power and allow
it to cool, then stand the radiator back upright. Reconnect the power – normal
operation should be resumed.
Safety Overheat Protection
The heater is fitted with a temperature limiter which will reduce the output of the heater should it overheat for any reason. The product will return to normal operation after the cause of the over heating has been rectified.
Storage
If the radiator is not required for long periods, for example during the
summer, it should be stored in a dry place and preferably covered to prevent
the accumulation of dirt and dust.
The supply cord should be neatly coiled and placed inside the cable storage
box.

WARNING – ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE CLEANING THE HEATER.
Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaning powder or polish of any kind on the
body of the heater.
