CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Allow the appliance to cool down before handling it.
  2. Empty out any remaining water (fig. 10) taking care, in the FULL SIZE and COMPACT configurations, not to wet the connector and/or power cord (f ).
  3. Dry the heating plate/container (e) or the detachable base for microwaves (i), motor body (c), rack unit (b) and the lid (a) with a soft cloth.

REMOVING LIMESCALE

When the steriliser is used, it is normal for deposits of limescale to form on the heating plate/container (e) or in the detachable base for microwaves. These can vary in size and intensity according to the hardness of the water used in the appliance. An excessive deposit of limescale could reduce the performance of the appliance and damage it over the long term. It is therefore recommended that the appliance be descaled at least once a week, or each time that deposits of limescale are found on the heating plate/container (e) or on the detachable base for microwaves.

  1. Pour 130 ml of descaling solution into the hotplate/tank (e) or into the removable base for microwaves (i), following the instructions provided on the packaging.
  2. On the basis of the quantity of limescale to be removed, allow the solution to act for a maximum of 2 hours.. Never switch the steriliser on when the container is being soaked in the descaling solution.
  3.  Empty out the heating plate/container (e) or detachable base for microwaves (i).
  4. Remove any residue with a soft cloth and rinse several times, pouring 200 ml of drinkable tap water into the heating plate/container (e) or detachable base for microwaves (i) and empty out. Finally, dry the appliance carefully with a soft dry cloth before using it again.

WARNING : do not place the appliance under running water in its FULL SIZE and COMPACT configurations.

WARNING : Do not use tools, abrasive sponges, detergents, alcohol or solvents to carry out cleaning operations, as these may irreparably damage the steriliser.

Dear customer,
We thank you and congratulate you on your choice. The modular electric steam steriliser adapts itself to the items to be disinfected occupying a small space in the kitchen thanks to the 3 configurations available: FULL SIZE, COMPACT and MICROWAVE.

The 3 configurations are compatible with all Chicco feeding bottles and breast pumps (the parts that can be subjected to hot sterilisation) and most of the other brands of feeding bottles and breast pumps on the market.
By using the MICROWAVE configuration it is possible to disinfect objects more quickly.
Easy to use, it can contain up to six 330 ml/11 oz feeding bottles of all Chicco lines with the relative accessories (cap rings, teats and cups) in the FULL SIZE configuration, and up to two 330 ml/11 oz feeding bottles with the relative accessories for the COMPACT and MICROWAVE configurations.
The number of feeding bottles of brands other than Chicco that can be placed in the appliance may be lower than that indicated here.

HOW TO PREPARE AND USE THE APPLIANCE FULL SIZE and COMPACT configurations – APPLIANCE CONNECTED TO THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY
Always carefully wash and rinse the objects to be sterilised before placing them inside the steriliser. Sterilise the TEATS, CAPS and ANTI-COLIC MEMBRANE (for Chicco Perfect5):

  • Detach the teats from the rings and position the teats on the rack unit (b) with the caps on top and the rings on top of the caps (fig. 5a, 5b, 5c).
  • For Chicco Perfect5 feeding bottles, remove the anti-colic membrane from the removable base and place the anti-colic membrane on the rack unit (b) (fig. 5d).

Sterilising FEEDING BOTTLES:

  • In the FULL SIZE configuration: Insert a maximum of six 330 ml/11 oz Chicco feeding bottles in the motor body (c). Feeding bottles should be positioned vertically with the neck facing down (Well-Being and NaturalFeeling lines) or facing up (Perfect5 line) with the removable base on top (fig. 6a and 6b).

Position the accessories on the rack unit (b) as specified above.

  • In the COMPACT configuration: Place up to two 330 ml/11 oz feeding bottles horizontally and position the relevant accessories as indicated for FULL SIZE mode, taking care not to obstruct the mouth of the bottle with the accessories so that steam can enter them freely.

WARNING : check that the accessories placed in the rack unit (b) do not prevent the lid from being closed properly (a). Before you use the appliance for the first time, always perform an empty sterilising cycle with no feeding bottles or other accessories inside.
During the first disinfecting cycles, the appliance could release a slight odour. This is not a sign of malfunction or damage and should be considered absolutely normal.

WARNING : When using the appliance for the first time, as soon as the main ON/OFF switch is turned on (h), the appliance could begin warming up immediately without you having pressed the cycle start switch (g) on the front. This is normal.

  1. Always place the appliance out of reach of children, on flat, level surfaces that are not sensitive to heat and/or humidity, and close to a mains socket that is easily accessible.

  2. Remove the lid (a), rack unit (b) and motor body (c) (fig. 7) and connect the power cord (f ) to the power connector (l).

  3. Place water in the heating plate/container (e) up to the water level mark indicated (fig. 8)
Use in the FULL SIZE configuration: 130 ml
Use in the COMPACT configuration: 90 m
NOTE : The use of distilled water considerably reduces the formation of limescale on the heating plate.

  4. Assemble the steriliser in the configuration you require (for assembly instructions please see the section “Setting up the different steriliser configurations”).

  5. Place the objects to be sterilised inside the appliance (see the first paragraph of this section).

  6. Connect the power cable plug (f ) to the mains socket.

  7. Start the appliance by moving the main ON/OFF switch (h) to l (ON), then press the cycle start button (g). When the pilot light (g1) comes on, the appliance is heating up the water.
NOTE : Sterilises in just 5 minutes, not including heating time.

  8. After completing the sterilising cycle, the pilot light (g1) will switch off automatically. Switch the appliance off by moving the main ON/OFF switch (h) to 0 (OFF) and disconnect the power cable plug (f ) from the mains socket.

  9. Wait a few minutes before removing the lid (a) and the sterilised objects. Always be very careful to prevent any boiling hot steam or drops of hot water leaking out and causing burns. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the objects that have been sterilised.

  10. Before starting a new sterilisation cycle, always wait until the appliance has completely cooled down.
NOTE : In both configurations, FULL SIZE and COMPACT, the time of the sterilisation cycle may vary depending on the number, size and type of feeding bottles and accessories sterilised and the quantity of water placed inside the heating plate/container (e).
NOTE : sterilised items will remain sterile inside the steriliser with the lid (a) on for about 24 hours. If the lid (a) is removed during or after use, the sterilisation status will be interrupted.

WARNING : do not pour less water. In this case the water may evaporate completely during heating with the risk of damaging the steriliser’s plastic components and rendering sterilisation ineffective.
WARNING : do not pour more water. In this case, boiling water may leak out of the product after sterilisation and cause burns.

  4. Place the objects to be sterilised inside the rack unit (see the first paragraph of this section).

  5. Close the rack unit with the relevant lid (a) and place it in the microwave.
