JAD11052 Make A Bear Toy

Make your very own Teddy Bear to love & cuddle!
The tricky sewing part of the bear has already been done!
There is a little felt heart for you to sew and put inside her body, add all the stuffing then simply sew her up at the back. She has her very own cute little dress to wear and you  can sew on the patch pocket, flower buttons and flowers to decorate her ear.
Have fun filling in her birth certificate and love her always!

What’s in the box?

THREADING THE NEEDLE

  • Cut of a length of thread about 40cm long.
  • Thread one end through the eye of the needle and pull through about 10cm (a).
  • Always tie a big double knot at the end.

SEWING & STUFFING THE FELT HEART

  • To make the heart use running stitch as shown (b).
  • Fold the heart in half and begin sewing it together with the yellow thread until you get nearly all the way around (c).
  • Add some stuffing (d) then sew the remaining stitches.
  • Finish by sewing the last stitch twice and then trim of any extra thread with scissors.

STUFFING THE BEAR

  • Take small pieces of the stufing material and push them inside the skin (e).
  • Start with the feet, legs, arms; then finally her tummy and back. Use up all of the stufing.
  • A metal teaspoon might help you push the stufing right into the feet and legs.
  • Your bear is now ready for her heart to be put inside before you sew her up!

  • Thread your needle with 40cm of the beige thread and knot the end.
  • To join the two seams bring them closely together so there are no gaps, you will sew each pair of holes twice.
  • From the inside, thread the needle through the bottom hole (f ).
  • Over-stitch through the opposite hole (g), stitch through the same holes again to create your 2nd stitch.
  • Continue up through the next set of holes (h) all the way up the back of the bear, keeping the stitches as neat as you can.
