USAGE

Using The Templates

  1. Lay the waxy/chalky side of the carbon paper down onto the timber project board supplied.

  2. Place the desired drawing template onto the carbon paper.
Note: Three drawing templates have been included to get you started, however you can also print out and use different designs.
Note: Use a clamp, large bulldog clips or masking tape to secure one corner of the template and carbon paper against the timber. This will prevent the template from shifting while you are transferring the design but also allow you to lift the papers and check how the pattern is transferring.

  3. Use the pencil to trace over the outline of the design on the template.

  4. If you make a mistake while tracing, erase the lines before burning as the heat from the tool will set the lines and make them harder to remove after.
Note: Avoid pressing down overly hard while transferring the pattern as this will make any unwanted lines harder to remove also.

  5. Once you are happy with the transferred artwork you can proceed with wood burning.
WARNING! ENSURE YOU ARE WORKING IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA AND WEARING APPROPRIATE SAFETY GEAR.
