Configure RIoT Receiver to your to local Wi-Fi Stage 1
ANDROID version
1. Apply Power to the RIoT Receiver. 2. Press and hold the LEARN button until
the red LEARN LED stays ON (takes
~5 seconds), 3. Release the LEARN Button. 4. The NET LED will Flash 2X. RIoT
Receiver is now broadcasting its Wi-Fi SSID. 5. On your Android Smart device,
run the Wi-Fi Wizard App.
(Please note Location Services must be enabled) 6. Click on the Chain Links 7.
Follow the instructions to go to your Wi-Fi Settings 8. Connect to the
receiver Wi-Fi (starts ET, RH, EP, RH, etc)

Note your Smart device may say “Internet may not be available” Connect to this
Wi-Fi
9. After connecting to your Wi-Fi, return to the Wizard App. 10.Select your
chosen Wi-Fi Network. 11.Input your password and press `Save’. 12.The Username

14.The RIoT Receiver will reboot and connect directly to your local Wi-Fi.

Stage 1
Configure RIot Receiver to your local Wi-Fi IOS Version
1. Apply Power to the RIoT Receiver. 2. Press and hold the LEARN Button until
the Red LEARN LED
stays ON. (takes ~5 seconds), 3. Release the LEARN Button. 4. The NET LED will
Flash 2X. RIoT Receiver is now broadcasting
its Wi-Fi SSID. 5. On your IOS smart device, run the Wi-Fi Wizard App.
(Please note Location Services must be enabled) 6. Press >, which will take
you to your Wi-Fi settings.
6. Connect to RIoT Receiver Wi-Fi, (starts ET, RH, EL,etc) Password is
0123456789 7. Click the back button to return to the Wi-Fi Wizard app.
8. Wait for the RIoT Receiver to connect to your app. 9. Enter your Wi-Fi
network details, password. and press `Save’
10.RIoT Receiver will reboot, and connect directly to your local Wi-Fi.
This is indicated by the White NET LED being ON constantly.

1. Ensure your smart device and the Receiver are connected to the same Wi-Fi
network
2. Run RIoT CONTROL App
3. Select Menu, then `Add RIoT-RX’. 4. Your Smart Device is now ready to pair
with the
RIoT Receiver. 5. On the RIoT Receiver, briefly press the LEARN Button 6. APP
will show “Receiver Detected” message. 6. Select Yes. 7. Your Smart Device is
now paired with the RIoT Receiver.
9. Select Menu / Handset Type, to select your preferred handset

Individual RIoT Receiver outputs can be controlled. Combinations of RIoT
Receiver output circuits can be set to create “Mood Lighting”

Stage 3 Using RIoT Control PRO App on your Smartdevice
The Receiver Type: is RIoT Receiver Button Name: Here you can enter your own
text / Name Button Style: Select your preferred Style Circuit: Defines
Receiver output circuit relay control RF Module: should be set to 1 Control
Type: sets the output Circuit operation as below
Control Type Description
On/Off: Receiver output circuit will switch on/off
All On/Off:All Receiver output circuits will switch on/off
Timed: Mood:
Receiver output circuit will switch on for a preset time
Sets all the Receiver output circuits that are set to “Mood” to operate to a
preset combination.
In the example below, when the button is operated on the smart device, output circuits 1 and 3 will relax, and circuits 2 and 4 will operate.

Stage 4 Event Timers – Initial Setup
Learning GPS Location
Before any event timers can be set, the RIoT Receiver must learn its GPS
location and local Dusk/Dawn times through out the year. Firstly ensure your
smart device is on the same Wi-Fi as the RIoT Receiver. 1. Apply Power to the
Receiver. 2. Press and hold the LEARN button until the red LEARN LED stays ON
(~5 secs). 3. Release the LEARN Button. 4. The NET LED will Flash 2X. Receiver
is now broadcasting its Wi-Fi SSID. 5. On your Android Smart device, run the

Stage 4 Event Timers – Initial Setup
Dusk / Dawn Offset (minutes)
This “offsets” a Dawn or Dusk Event Timer operation by a number of minutes.
You can enter a positive or negative offset number. The effect is shown below

Examples, Adding an offset of +10 causes: “Dusk” events to trigger 10 mins
before actual time of Dusk “Dawn” events to trigger 10 mins after actual time

time of Dusk “Dawn” events to trigger 10 mins before actual time of Dawn.

Stage 4 Setting an Event Timer
RIoT Receiver can be programmed to automatically switch its outputs circuits based on an Event Timer. Upto 16 Timers can be set based on the following Events

Firstly ensure your smart device is on the same Wi-Fi as the RIoT Receiver.
1. On your Smart device, run the Wi-Fi Wizard App.

1. Select a Timer to set/update. 2. Follow the procedure on screen to set-

Configuring Data Encryption
Data sent between a smart device the RIoT-RX is encrypted. The Encryption key
is a 16 digit string consisting numbers and letters, and can be modified to
create a unique encryption to your system. The encryption Key can be set in
the RIoT Receiver using the Wizard App, and can be set in the Control app or
Control PRO app on your Smart Device
The encryption keys must match for the system to work!
Default encryption key is: 0123456789ABCDEF (for older systems (RIoT-RX Rev 1
& 2 ) it is “UsernamePassword”)
To Set the Encryption Key within the Smart Device App.
1. Select Menu, then `App Setup
2. Update the encryption key as required and “Save”

Firstly ensure your smart device is on the same Wi-Fi as the RIoT Receiver. 1.
Apply Power to the Receiver. 2. Press and hold the LEARN button until the red
LEARN LED stays ON. (takes ~5
seconds), 3. Release the LEARN Button. 4. The NET LED will Flash 2X. Receiver
is now broadcasting its Wi-Fi SSID. 5. On your Android Smart device, run the
Wi-Fi Wizard App.

Additional Information / Features
Profiles – Control Many RIoT Receivers from one App
RIoT Control / Control PRO Apps can operate with Multiple Receivers located in
different locations. Each Receiver is set as a “Profile”. For Example the user
may have; A RIoT Receiver at Home, a RIoT Receiver at Work, a RIoT Receiver in
a shed etc. Each RIoT Receiver can be set as a named “Profile”
Profile Home Profile Work Profile Shed Profiles can be created and edited
under the App Menu.
Auto Restore Outputs After Power Loss
In the event of power recovery the RIoT Receiver can be set to automatically
restore the output Circuits to the status prior to the power loss.

App Setup Descriptions
There are various user setting from the Menu/App Setup which are described
below
Keep App Awake
This keeps the app displayed on your screen at all times, with real time
updates of the output Circuits appearing as they change or updated (from other
remote controls).
Disable Lock Screen
The App screen auto locks after 1 min, requiring the user to “swipe to unlock”
This prevents the App from auto locking the screen locking
Double Click Buttons (PRO App only)
Requires the user to double click when pressing a button, to help prevent
accidental touch operation
Local Mode
This restricts operation of the RIoT Receiver to smart devices that are
connected to the same local Wi-Fi as the RIoT Receiver. i.e. only smart
devices logged into the same local Wi-Fi (intranet) will have control of the
RIoT Receiver

1. Remove Power from Receiver 2. Press and hold ERASE button, then apply
power . 3. Continue holding ERASE Button until Erase LED illuminates (~10sec)
3. Release the ERASE Button. All Wi-Fi settings are erased. Event timers and
paired RF transmitters are not erased.
