Interface:

  1. Rear camera interface: Plug in the rear camera cable to display the rear camera image in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

What type of memory card should I use with this dash cam?

Please choose a U3 grade memory card and format it locally before first-time use.

How can I reset the device?

You can use a fine needle or other object to briefly press the reset button to force the device to restart.

How do I switch between video mode, photo mode, and playback mode?

Short press the corresponding mode button to switch between modes. Long press for specific functions within each mode.

Can I adjust the video resolution settings?

Yes, you can select between 4K (Default) and 2K resolution in the settings menu.

Camera turns on/off automatically?

To ensure that the output current can reach 5V/2A, use our car charger. And ensure that the In- car camera and rear camera are connected correctly. To improve stability, the dash cam may automatically restart once after detecting that a different camera is connected. In addition: the dash cam will automatically start recording when it detects that the power is connected, and it will automatically shut down when it detects that the power is disconnected.

Video image blurry?

Remove the protective lens cap and clean the lens, making sure the windshield is clean and free of grease, dirt and debris.

Camera getting hot?

It's normal for your camera to run a little warm. Since video is being recorded at high speed, the dash cam may become very hot during use (not to exceed 158°F/70ºC).

My dash cam has no power but will it work on my computer?

Cigarette lighter power cord not working. Check the fuse in the car's power cord plug. If you find a blown fuse, check the power cord for damage that might cause the fuse to blow.

The sound is out of sync with the video during playback?

The codec on your PC may not be compatible or may not be the latest standard.

My computer can't play video files?

The video files of the dash cam are in TS format. If the appropriate playback software is not installed, it may not be compatible with your PC.

Video has no sound?

Make sure the Record Audio setting is turned on in the settings menu.

Photos blurry?

Make sure the dash cam is still when taking pictures. The minimum focal length range of the dash cam is approximately 2 meters. Anything closer than that may become blurry.

For the memory card used with this dash cam, please choose a U3-grade memory card. Please format the memory card in the local menu for first time use. This user manual will explain how to use it in detail and provide you with detailed information including operation and technical specifications.   • Select video resolution. 4K(Default)/ 2K (Optional)

  • Loop Record: 1 minute(Default)/2minutes / 3minutes. The time each video is recorded. This feature allows the camera to record continuously. When the memory card is going to run flat, the camera will automatically delete the oldest files.

  • Time-lapse: Off(Default) / 1 second/ 2 seconds/ 3 seconds. This function requires a step-down line, which should be connected to the camera. After activated, select 1/2/3 seconds, then each time the vehicle is turned off and parked, a frame of video will be recorded at the corresponding time. Note that the time-lapse video will last up to 24 hours after each parking. For the step-down line instructions, please refer to Item 8 in this manual.

  • License: Off(Default)/ On. After turning it on, you can customize the license plate watermark consisting of letters and numbers, which will be recorded and displayed in each video clip.

  • Motion Detect: Off(Default)/ On. After activated, the device will start recording only when it detects movement in the picture, and will stop recording when it is still.

  • Audio record: On(Default)/ Off. Recording video, the sound will be recorded at the same time.

  • Date stamp: On(Default), When it is on, the system date and time will be displayed on the video and photo files. When it is off, there will be no date on the video or photo files.

  • G-sensor: Off (Default) / Low / Medium / High(Optional). G-sensor is a 3-axis shock-gravity accelerometer designed to detect physical forces and gravity on the camera. Once the G-sensor is triggered due to physical or gravity impact on the camera, the current video file will be locked as an emergency file and will not be overwritten by the loop recording function. The higher the G-Sensor sensitivity, the less force is required to trigger the automatic file protection. (If this function is on, it is recommended to format the memory card regularly to avoid running out of space, provided there are no files that need to keep.

  • Parking: Off (Default) / Low / Medium / High(Optional). After activated, the camera will automatically turn off the screen after a set time without any operation. Pressing any button will wake up the screen again.

  • Auto power off: Off(Default)/ 1minutes / 3minutes/ 5minutes. After turning on this function, the camera will automatically turn off the screen after a set time without any operation. Pressing any button will wake up the screen again.

  • Screen saver: Off(Default))/ 10 seconds/ 30seconds/ 60 seconds. After activated, the camera will automatically turn off the screen after a set time without any operation. Pressing any button will wake up the screen again.

  • Frequency: 50Hz(Default)/60Hz. According to the frequency specifications used in your country/region .

    • 60HZ- Applicable to the United States, North America
    • 50HZ- Applicable to the Europe, most Asian countries.
  • USB Mode: USB charging (Default)/USB storage. Use a data cable to connect the USB power port (Reserved) of the camera to the computer to realize the disk reading function and transfer files.

  • Back Mirror: Off(Default)/ On. The rear camera image can be adjusted to mirror image or original image as needed.

  • Fill Light: Auto(Default)/ On / Off. Control the infrared light status of the camera inside the car.

  • Speaker: Mute/Low (Default)/ Middle/ High. Set the speaker volume to the appropriate level or mute according to your needs.

  • Boot Sound: On (default)/ Off. According to your needs, you can set the power on/off volume of the device every time it is on or off.

  • Button Sound: On (default)/ Off. You can set the power on/off volume of the device it is on or off.

  • Language: Default English; Optional: English, Chinese, Traditional, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, German…

  • Date/ Time: You can manually adjust the current date and time and the required date and time display format.
    In the menu,

    • a: Use the up and down buttons to select the date and time you want to set;
    • b: After the setting is completed, press the “Confirm” button to confirm and enter the next option;
    • c: Press the “M” button to return to the previous option;
    • d: Press the “Confirm” button to select “Confirm”, and then shortly press the “Confirm” button again to save the settings and exit.
  • Format: The memory card can be formatted in the camera.
    Note: For stable performance, it is recommended to format the camera once every 10 days. Please make sure that there are no files in the camera that you want to keep before performing this operation.

  • Default: After this settings, all menus of the camera will be restored to factory settings.

  • Asr: It is on by default. After turning on this function, some voice operations can be performed on the recorder. Note that this camera currently only supports Chinese and English voice control. The specific instructions are as follows:

    • “Turn on screen”
    • “Turn off screen”
    • “Turn on audio”
    • “Turn off audio”
    • “Take photo”
    • “Show front camera”
    • “Show rear camera”
    • “Inside video on”
    • “Show both cameras”
    • “Lock the video”

  • Wi-Fi Connection: It allows to view the Wi-Fi name and password of this camera, display the QR code of app, and turn on the Wi-Fi.

  • Version: Check the firmware information.

Take Photo Mode

When the camera is not under recording, press and hold the “Menu” button once to enter the photo mode, then press the Confirm button to take a photo.

  • Photo Resolution: 3M/5M/8M/10M/12M. You can choose the resolution of the photo.
  • Sequence: It is off by default. When turned on, three photos will be taken each time.
  • Image Quality: High Quality (Default) / Standard / Economy, the degree of deviation produced when viewing the photo visually.
  • Sharpness: Strong/Standard (Default)/Soft, image sharpness and edge sharpness adjustment.
  • ISO: Auto (Default)/100/200/400. High ISO makes the photo very grainy, while low ISO makes the picture delicate.
  • Anti- shake: It is off by default. When turned on, it can reduce the blur caused by device shaking.
  • Version: Check the firmware information.

Playback Mode

(In photo mode, press and hold the menu button for 2 seconds to enter playback mode)

  1.  As shown below, in playback menu, select the file type you want to view:
  2.  Enter the file interface to be previewed (short press the menu button to return to the previous menu), select the file to be viewed, and press “Confirm” to enter the video or photo viewing.
  3. Manually delete files
  4. a: In the file preview interface, long press the “Menu” button and the delete option will pop up
  5. B: Use the “UP” or “Down” buttons to select the file you want to operate, and press the “Confirm” button to select it. “ ” indicates unselected, “ ” Indicates selected.
  6. C: After selecting, long press the “Menu” button again to pop up the secondary confirmation menu. At this time, press “Cancel” to return, and press “Confirm” to delete the selected file.

Wi-Fi Connection

Scan the QR code as below to download the App “Roadcam” to your smart phone to tablet from “Google Play” or from the Apple “App Store”.

  1. Set the camera to the video mode (standby state). (If the camera is under recording, short press “Confirm” to stop the recording.) Press and hold the UP button to turn on the Wi-Fi. The camera screen will display the current Wi-Fi information as below:

    Password:12345678

  2. Move your mobile device as close to the camera as possible, turn on the phone’s Wi-Fi then connect. Go to your phone’s Settings > Wi-Fi > select the camera’s name then connect.
    Note: When it is connected to the wireless network, the phone will prompt “No network connection”, which is normal. Because the camera Wi-Fi is only used for video/photo transmission functions and cannot be used to play footage through the cloud or the Internet, please ignore the prompt. Please kindly find the details as below:

  3. After the connection is successful, enter the APP: Roadcam > Enter the currently connected recorder > You can view the device’s recorded videos and photos, switch to the rear camera, switch to the photo mode, etc.Please kindly find the details as below:

  4. You can view the recorded video files or photos on the APP, or download them to your local album for viewing. However, you must first stop recording before entering each menu. Please refer to the following screenshot to enter the video or picture preview interface.
    In the video preview interface, click the file you want to view to enter the playback mode.

  5. You can also click “select”, then “Download” and “Delete” menus will pop up, where you can select files to be downloaded to the local album or delete specified files.

  6. View the downloaded videos or photos in the local album.
    When the camera is connected to Wi-Fi, return to the main interface of the APP and enter “Album”, then you can view all the files you have downloaded.

Important statement::

  1. Remember that the car charger/voltage step-down cable cannot be connected at the same time.
  2. If you are not familiar with the car circuit, you need to go to the car 4S store and find a professional to install it.

Buck cable connection diagram (recommended to be installed by professionals):

  • A: Dash cam host location
    B: Rear camera connection cable (indicated by the green cable, the actual cable is usually black)

  • C: Dash Cam reversing image trigger line (thin red line), connected to the positive pole of the 12V reversing light.
    (After correct wiring, every time the reversing light is on, the dash cam will automatically switch to the full-screen view of the rear camera. When the reversing light is off, it will automatically return to the original interface without menu control.)
