Product Usage Instructions

Setting Up

1. Unpack the Harrier-1500 unit.
2. Open the fluid door, unscrew the cap of the tank, and remove it to fill it with fog fluid.
3. Replace the bottle and screw the cap securely, ensuring the pipes are fed down to the bottom of the bottle for consistent fluid flow.
4. If using DMX for control, connect the DMX signal from the controller to the DMX IN XLR connector. Additional DMX units can be connected via the DMX OUT XLR connector.
5. Connect the twist and lock mains cable and power the unit on.
6. The unit will start warming up, typically taking around 5-6 minutes.

Operation

Use the control buttons on the rear panel for efficient operation.

• Button Up: Scrolls between setting screens, Increases function or setting value
• Button Down: Decreases function or setting value
• Timer: Sets up the timing for fog output
• Volume: Sets up the volume for fog output
• Manual: Press and release for fog on demand (max. 15 secs)

The LCD panel on the rear displays various outputs such as unit warming up, ready to use, fog interval set up, fog duration set up, DMX address code, and low fluid sensor LED settings.

Q: What should I do if the tank is empty while the machine is running?

A: If the tank is empty while the machine is running, immediately switch off the machine to prevent damage. Refill the tank before restarting the machine.

Q: How should I clean the unit for maintenance?

A: Use a soft dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use strong solvents. Periodically clean the fog mechanism by operating with distilled water and consider using fog machine cleaning fluid (160.670UK) as recommended.

• The Harrier-1500’s innovative design means it can provide either vertical or horizontal jets of smoke to rapidly fill larger venues. This powerful smoke effect can then be highlighted with an array of colors from the 24 bright LEDs housed in the unit.
• The smoke and light effects are easily controlled using either the control panel on the unit, the included keyfob-style RF wireless remote, or by 7-channel DMX connection.
• The 2.5 litre fluid bottle can be removed for easy refilling and there is a slot window to indicate the current fluid level.
• Innovative design provides either vertical or horizontal powerful smoke jet
• Nine powerful 3W LEDs add a bright colourful light show to the fog effect
• 24 bright 3W LEDs add a colorful light show to the smoke effect
• In-built control panel with LCD
• 433Mhz keyfob-style RF wireless remote
• 7-Channel DMX connectivity
• Removable 2.5-litre fluid tank
• integrated low fluid protection switch ensures the unit can’t be damaged if left running when the tank is empty.

Warnings:

1. To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose electrical parts to rain or moisture.
2. If liquids are spilled on areas other than inside the fluid tank, disconnect the mains, allow the unit to dry out, and have it checked by qualified personnel before use.
3. Avoid any impact, dropping, or extreme pressure on the housing.
4. No user-serviceable parts inside – do not open the case.
5. Allow the unit to acclimatise to room temperature before operating.

Safety and Cleaning

1. Check for correct mains voltage and condition of mains lead before connecting to power.
2. This unit must be earthed.
3. This unit uses a heating element – be aware that parts of the housing may be hot during use!
4. Use a soft dry or slightly damp cloth to clean the casing.

Recommended Fluids

For the Harrier-1500, we strongly recommend the following fluid which has been specifically formulated to perform best with any heater-based fog machines.

Rear Panel

Setting Up

1. Unpack the Harrier-1500 unit.
2. Open the fluid door, unscrew the cap of the tank, and remove it to fill it with fog fluid.
3. Replace the bottle and screw the cap securely, making sure that the pipes are fed down to the bottom of the bottle to ensure a consistent flow of fluid.
4. If DMX is to be used for control, connect the DMX signal from the controller to the DMX IN XLR connector. Any further DMX-controlled units may be connected via the DMX OUT XLR connector.
5. Connect the twist and lock mains cable and power the unit on.
6. The unit will begin the warming-up process which normally takes around 5-6 minutes.

Operation

Use the control buttons on the rear panel of the unit to operate the unit’s modes and functions quickly and efficiently as below.

The LCD panel on the rear of the unit will display the following outputs:

The small RF remote control supplied can also be used when wireless control of the unit is needed. Ensure the wireless RF controller is connected to the unit, to use the remote for the following functions.

1. Fog effect on demand (max. 15 seconds)
2. Solid color select
3. Colour change or Colour fade
4. LEDs on/off

If the LCD panel display is set to DMX mode (d001-d512), the unit will operate by DMX control as follows.
