Product Usage Instructions

Pairing the Controller

  1. Turn on your Nintendo SwitchTM device and press any button on the controller.
  2. If the controller does not automatically connect, follow the steps to pair it with the device.
  3. Navigate to Controllers > Change Grip/Order using the Joy-ConTM controllers.
  4. Press and hold the sync button on the controller for 3 seconds until it pairs and the player indicator light is solid.

Re-connecting the Controller

  1. If the controller is not connecting but has been paired, go to Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
  2. Press L and R on your controller when prompted to connect.
  3. You can also wake up the controller and device by pressing and holding the Home button.

Charging the Controller

  1. When the controller is low on battery, the function button’s LED will blink RED every 30 seconds.
  2. Connect the controller to a USB port on the Nintendo Switch dock using the included USB-C cable.
  3. The LED will pulse RED while charging and turn WHITE when fully charged.

Programming the Back Buttons

  1. To program, hold the function button and press the back button you want to map a control to.
  2. Press any button on the controller to map its function to the back button when the LED is flashing.
  3. The LED will blink quickly 3 times to indicate successful programming.

NOTICE : Before using the controller, we recommend fully charging it as it will only have an hour or two of battery life out of the box.

Pairing the Controller

  1. Turn on your Nintendo Switch™ device and press any button on the controller.
  2. If your controller does not automatically connect, it will need to be paired with the device.
  3. Using the Joy-Con™ controllers, navigate to Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
  4. Now, using your controller, press and hold the sync button (at the top of the controller by the charging port) for 3 seconds until it pairs and the player indicator light at the bottom is solid.

Tip : To unpair the controller from the Nintendo Switch, hold down the sync button (located at the top of the controller) for at least 1 second.

Re-connecting the Controller

  1. If the controller is not connecting with the device, but has already been paired, simply go into Controllers > Change Grip/Order.

  2. When prompted, press L and R on your controller to connect.
    Tip: You can also press and hold the “Home” button to wake up the controller and Nintendo Switch™ device.

  3. Charging the Controller

Note : To prevent the controller battery from completely draining out, please charge the controller every 3 months even if it’s not in use.

Programming the Back Buttons

  1. To program, hold the “function” button and press the back button you’d like to map a control to.
  2. Once the “function” button LED is flashing, press any button on the controller to map that button’s function to the back. The LED will blink quickly 3 times, indicating successful programming.
  3. To clear a mapped function or disable the back buttons completely, hold down the “function” button and double press any back button.

Changing the Lighting Effects

  1. The Afterglow Wave Wireless Controller comes with four lighting effects pre-programmed on the controller:
    • Wave : Displays a rainbow of RGB lights in a continuous motion.
    • Breathing : The RGB lights slowly fade in and out on a set color.
    • Static : The RGB lights will remain solid and set to a chosen color.
    • Stick : The RGB will react to the movement of the analog sticks.
  2. To cycle through these lighting effects, hold down the “function” button and press either the L or R button. Once you choose your mode, release the “function” button to save the setting.

Adjusting the Colors of the Lights

  1. Hold down the “function” button and use the Left/Right button on the D-pad to change the LED’s color.
  2. Once you find the color you’d like, save the setting by releasing the “function” button.
  3. For white, hold down the “function” button and click in the left analog stick.

Note: The default LED color for the STICK, STATIC and BREATHING modes is blue. The LED colors for the WAVE and STICK modes cannot be customized.

Adjusting the Brightness of the Lights

  1. To adjust the brightness, hold down the “function” button and press the ZR button to increase brightness, and ZL to decrease it.
  2. To turn off the lights completely, hold down the “function” button and press the ZL button until it cycles to 0%brightness.

FAQ

Q: How often should I charge the controller?
A: To prevent complete battery drainage, it is recommended to charge the controller every 3 months even if not in use.

Q: Can I customize the LED colors for all lighting effects?
A: The LED colors for WAVE and STICK modes cannot be customized. However, you can adjust colors for other modes using the D-pad.

Q: How do I turn off the LED lights completely?
A: Hold down the function button and press the ZL button until it cycles to 0% brightness to turn off the lights completely.\\
