Introduction

HONEYWELL ZONE 1/21 IO

Product Information Note
Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system, when installed in a remote hazardous location, dramatically reduces the cost of cables and explosion-proof junction boxes, minimizes delays during installation phases, decreases risk with intrinsic safe certified design, reduces space constraints of the control room, and lowers the cost of ownership through the integration of remote cabinets with Experion & ControlEdge over industry standard protocols along with local diagnosis & quick maintenance.

  • The Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system is a ready-made, plug-and-play remote IO system that comes as a stainless-steel junction box to connect intrinsic and non-intrinsic field devices from hazardous areas such as Zone 0 and Zone 1. The remote IO junction boxes are cabinets that have ATEX and IECEx certifications, suitable for hazardous area requirements & intrinsic safe installations.
  • Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system cabinets have IP65 protection and can work in the temperature class of T4, which makes them suitable for outdoor installation in distant locations. This remote IO system can operate at a temperature of -20°C ..+75°C. Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system has high-density IO modules.
  • This allows the connection of more field signals per cabinet, which further helps to save costs and avoid multiple installations of remote cabinets.
  • Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system offers smooth integration options with DCS and PLC control systems using common industry protocols such as Profibus-DP, ProfiNet, and EtherNet/IP. Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system has tight integration with Experion C300 & UOC, ControlEdge PLC & Master Logic PLC. All modules of the Honeywell Zone 1/21 IO system have status and diagnostic LEDs, which assist with local troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • All components are intrinsically safe certified which allows removal and insertion under power (RIUP) for all modules.
