According to World Health Organisation (WHO), occupants of damp or mouldy buildings are at increased risk of respiratory symptoms, respiratory infections and exacerbation of asthma and increased risks of allergic rhinitis and asthma. Exposure to mould and other dampness-related microbial agents increase the risks of rare conditions, such as hypersensitivity pneumonitis, allergic alveolitis, chronic rhinosinusitis and allergic fungal sinusitis. Water on/in materials triggers the growth of microorganisms, including fungi, actinomycetes and other bacteria. Microbial growth may result in greater numbers of spores, cell fragments, allergens, mycotoxins, endotoxins, -glucans and volatile organic compounds in indoor air. Relative humidity greater than approximately 50% increases indoor dust mite levels.

The 2Mayo clinic states that it’s ideal to keep the humidity in your home between 30% and 50%. High humidity can make your home feel stuffy. It also can cause condensation, which is when water vapour in the air turns liquid. Droplets may form on walls, floors and other surfaces. Condensation can trigger the growth of harmful bacteria, dust mites and moulds. These allergens can cause breathing problems and trigger allergy and asthma flare-ups.

You may have heard or used Thirsty Hippos before. These are also used as dehumidifiers. However, those large disposable plastic containers (costing around $3 dollars each) are single-use and causes air pollution when incinerated; the chemical used cannot be burnt, resulting in land pollution; and when the liquid is poured down the sink, causes water pollution all of which affect biodiversity, ecosystems, and human health worldwide.
This dehumidifier is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Purchasing this product not only saves you a lot of money, but also helps you and your family save the environment. It has:
Highly efficient dehumidification This dehumidifier uses Peltier’s effect in semiconductors to condense water vapour from humid air, rather than a compressor; as a result, it is compact and quiet and is best placed in small to medium sized rooms and poorly ventilated areas. It is equipped with a 3800 ml water tank and extracts up to 900 ml of moisture daily in a humid environment of 30°C (86 °F) and 80% relative humidity (RH), efficiently reducing humidity and creating a healthy living environment for you.
Automatic shut-off This dehumidifier automatically switches off when the water tank is filled with water to avoid the risk of overflow, and the indicator light lights up red to remind you to empty the tank. Empty the water tank and insert it back into the dehumidifier, then touch the ON/OFF button to turn it back on.

Ultra-quiet and illuminates with 7 LED lights This dehumidifier runs quietly in the background (20 30 dB), whilst …
the 7 colour-changing LED lights that you can adjust to reflect your mood, or set the mood. The lights can also be switched off.
