CANOR PH 2.10 is a tube phono preamplifier for both MM and MC phono cartridges
and is equipped with a high-quality MC step-up Lundahl transformer. It
contains minimum number of amplification steps required to apply purely
passive corrections.
The PH 2.10 is designed with the highest possible audio quality. The overall
electrical and mechanical construction is tailored to achieve this ultimate
goal.
· Wiring circuitry without any global feedback. · PCBs utilize our premium CMT
TM technology. · Absolute selection and tubes matching with above-average
parameters. · Vacuum-impregnated transformer core. · The transformer is potted
in a special anti-vibration compound. · High variability of resistances and
capacitances settings for all types of phono cartridges.
BASIC FUNCTION Plug the power cord in PH 2.10. Turn on the PH 2.10 with the
Power Main switch, which is located on the back panel. When you turn on the
main switch, the PH 2.10 will set into standby mode the red LED on the front
panel lights up. After pressing the Power button controlled turning-on
sequence gets initiated, which consists of preheating the tubes, thereby
extending their life span. The cooling cycle is being carried out when the
unit is turned off, if the main switch on the back panel is not turned off,
i.e. after turning off via the button on the front panel, and a 45-second
countdown to cooling without indication begins. If you turn on the unit at
this time, the cooling will continue and will be indicated by a flashing red
LED. When the cooling cycle is over the main toroidal transformer gets
connected (the CANOR logo lights up), and then the slow start-up of voltage
begins. This cycle lasts 20 30 seconds.
FRONT PANEL · POWER Turning on and off the preamplifier. · MUTE Pressing
this button results in an instant muting of the volume. Subsequent pressing
results in default volume. · DIMM Sets the display brightness in six steps
whereby 0 is a turned-off display, and 5 is maximum brightness. After turning
on, the display brightness level is 3 and by repeatedly pressing or holding
the button, brightness lowers to values 2, 1, 0 and continues to rise until
maximum brightness (5) is reached, and repeatedly lowers until the display is
turned off. In the state of a turned-off display while operating the device
with function keys the display lights up to brightness 2, and after a few
seconds, the display turns off again. · MM To use with Moving Magnet
cartridges. Gain: 46dB. Available MM loads: 50 pF, 150 pF, 270 pF, 370 pF, 520
pF, 620 pF, 740 pF and 840 pF. · C This button will set the loading capacity
for Moving Magnet cartridge (MM input) in steps: 50pF to 840pF. · MC to use
with Moving Coil cartridges. Gain: 70dB. Available MC resistance: 10 R, 20 R,
40 R, 80 R, 150 R, 300 R, 600 R, 1200 R. · R this button will set the
loading resistance for the Moving Coil cartridge (MC input) in steps: 10R to
1200R. · MAIN ROTARY KNOB Adjusting loads and resistance for dedicated
input. It replaces the C / R buttons.
