Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started:

Install the config tool on your PC.

Connect a USB mini cable between your computer and the USB
service port on the back of the DIY-Pre. -
Start the Config Tool.

Start up the device.
Updating the Device:
-
If an update is available, a pop-up message will appear.

Click on “Update device with webversion vx.x.x (current
vx.x.x)” to start the update. -
Do not power down or remove the power cable during the update
process. -
The update order is: Main > Front > Digin (if placed in
device). -
Ensure to follow the instructions for a successful update
completion.
Failed Updates:
If an update fails, follow the instructions on the pop-up
message to retry the update. If the main module update fails, start
the update procedure again from the beginning.
Forcing Bootloader Mode:
-
Switch off the power switch at the back of the device.

Press down the volume knob and headphones enable button
simultaneously. -
Switch the power switch back on.

If needed, force the microcontrollers into bootloader mode by
following these steps.
FAQ
Q: How can I check if my device needs an update?
A: If an update is available, a pop-up message will notify you
about it. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the
update.
Q: What should I do if an update fails?
A: If an update fails, follow the instructions provided in the
pop-up message. It may require restarting the update process or
forcing bootloader mode if necessary.

The config tool is a Windows only application.
Getting started
1. Install the config tool on PC. 2. Connect USB mini cable between computer
and the USB service port on the
back of the DIY-Pre. 3. Start Config Tool. 4. Start up device.
If an update is available, a pop-up message will appear to notify that a new
update bundle is available.

5. Click on the button Update device with webversion vx.x.x (current vx.x.x).
The update will start. It will update all updateable modules in the device.

during update. Do not remove the USB mini cable during update. The update
order is:
Main Front Digin (if placed in device) The Config tool will show which update
is in progress (see figure 3).

The display on the device will also show which part of the update is in
process. For example:
If the update has been completed, then a pop-up message will appear. Please
follow the instructions:
– cycle mains power to reboot the device by switching the device off with the
power switch on the back – wait 15 seconds – switch device on – wait 5 seconds
– press volume button to power on device

Failed updates
If the update has failed, then a pop-up message will appear that will notify
you which part failed. Please follow the instructions to update the device
again. If the update has failed during the update of the main module, then the
device will recognize that the device is in an interrupted update state. Click
on update to start update procedure. After successful update of the Main
module then the update procedure can be started again to update the rest of
the device.

the update of another module, then the update needs to be started again. It is
possible that the config tool does not detect that the update has failed.
Click on Update device with webversion vx.x.x (current vx.x.x) button. If a
pop-up message appears that the update is not necessary, then click Yes.

Forcing bootloader mode
It is possible to force the microcontrollers in bootloader in the unlikely event that the microcontrollers will not go into bootloader mode during the normal update process.
1. Make sure that the power switch at the back is switched to off. 2. This
can be done by pressing down the volume knob (right knob) and the
headphones enable button and the 3. Switch the power switch at the back to on.
The display will show:

The update can then be started by starting the Config Tool and then click on the button Update device with webversion vx.x.x (current vx.x.x).
