  • Ensure that the roof rack or roof bars can support the full weight while in motion or supporting two adults.
  • Ensure the Rooftop tent weight is centered over the middle of the vehicle and its sides are not overhanging the vehicle.
  • The Rooftop tent will increase your vehicle’s overall height, be wary of this when entering undercover areas.
  • Take care when operating the telescopic ladder, ensuring it’s locked in place and the sliders will not pinch you.

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION

Regular maintenance and attention are essential for preserving durability and maximizing the efficiency of your tent, particularly when addressing the matter of condensation. Condensation is a natural occurrence that happens when moist air encounters a colder surface, causing the moisture in the air to transform into liquid droplets. This process can commence immediately after unpacking the tent and exposing it to real-world weather conditions. It can lead to various issues if not properly managed, including fabric damage, electronic damage, and mold growth.

  • Maintenance Tips: In colder months, it’s crucial to take extra steps to prevent condensation build-up:
  • Air Drying: Every fortnight during winter, thoroughly air dry the tent under direct sunlight. Indoor drying is insufficient to remove all moisture.
  • Dehumidifier Use: When storing the tent, place a dehumidifier inside to help reduce humidity and prevent condensation.
  • Address the mold build-up: Brush off the mold, clean the affected area with a cleaning solution, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely, to ensure all moisture is gone
  • Car Wash Note: Before entering an auto car wash, ensure the tent is removed from your vehicle as car washes can cause damage to the tent’s fabric and structural components.
  • Warranty Limitations: Please be aware of the following exclusions from your tent’s warranty:
  • Surface Wear: Damage to the outer coating caused by environmental elements, weather conditions, or car wash chemicals is not included in the coverage.
  • Condensation Damage: Any damage caused by condensation is not part of the warranty coverage. It is essential to follow the recommended maintenance practices to prevent such issues.

At least 2-3 people are needed to install the RTT. DO NOT try and lift and install the RTT on your own.

  1. Unpack all the components from the box.
  2. Lift the RTT onto your vehicle’s roof rack. Position so that the weight is centered evenly over the roof. See FIGURE 1.
  3. Assemble 8 of the flat brackets with 1 bolt each. With the flat brackets assembled, lift the side of the RTT and slide 2 flat brackets with bolts along each mounting rail of Mounting Rail. See FIGURE 2.
  4. Slide the flat brackets with bolts along the mounting rails, so that they align with the roof rack’s cross-bars. See FIGURE 3.
    • Do not clamp onto your roof racks mesh.
    • The Rooftop Tent should have 4 spaced, strong points of contact on the roof rack. See FIGURE 5.RUGGED-ROOFTOPS-Hard-Shell-Rooftop-Tent-FIG- \(2\) RUGGED-ROOFTOPS-Hard-Shell-Rooftop-Tent-FIG- \(3\)

  6. Take the vehicle for a low-speed, short drive. Afterward, check all the bolts are secure. Tighten if required.
  7. Insert the square Nuts in the Side T-slot rail and use the Allen Key to fix the bolts and nuts, then adjust the Ladder hook to the proper position that you need the same way to install the ladder hook onto the bottom T-slot. See FIGURE 7, FIGURE 8. For installing roof racks use the same method as above.
  8. AND FINALLY, SIT BACK, RELAX, AND ENJOY YOUR RTT! See FIGURE 9, FIGURE 10.RUGGED-ROOFTOPS-Hard-Shell-Rooftop-Tent-FIG- \(4\) RUGGED-ROOFTOPS-Hard-Shell-Rooftop-Tent-FIG- \(5\)
