3. IDENTIFICATION OF PARTS
The contents of the package and the parts of the appliance
The appliance can be assembled in two different configurations: floor-standing
and floor-based.
Floor-standing configuration
- Appliance body
- Telescopic pedestal
- Pedestal coupling
- Base
- Remote Control
The floor-standing configuration is preferable for the cooling function, as the elevated position of the fan impeller enhances the air flow throughout the room, thus optimising cooling and the removal of humid air.
Floor-based configuration:
- Appliance body
- Coupling shaft
- Base
- Remote Control
The floor-based configuration is preferable in heating mode as it facilitates the replacement of the cold, denser air normally found in the bottom layers, with the warm air generated by the appliance. The latter tends to naturally rise, allowing for more efficient distribution throughout the room.
4. COMMISSIONING AND FIRST START-UP
Some preliminary operations are necessary before first use. Proceed as follows:
- Unpack the appliance and check the conditions and completeness of the equipment, as indicated in the previous chapter.
- Keep the packaging for 15 days in case it needs to be returned to the retailer; after this period, dispose of it in accordance with the instructions on the separation of materials indicated on it.
- Read this manual in its entirety, paying particular attention to the instructions for safe use.
- Carefully remove all possible fastening materials from parts, including internal parts.
- Fully remove any stickers from the surface of the appliance.
- Remove the film on the bottom part of the remote control battery compartment, pulling it outwards.
Assembly in floor-standing configuration:
- Place the base on a flat and stable surface, check that its location complies with the safety requirements in section 2 above. Therefore, it must be positioned at a safe distance from fixed or moving objects, build-ups or sources of water or other liquids, etc.
- Insert the part of the floor-standing pedestal with a wider diameter into the hole in the base and screw it in, turning it clockwise, keeping it as upright as possible until it is fully tightened, that is, until further tightening is met with considerable resistance.
- Extract the tap screw located at the rear and bottom of the motor body, turning it slightly counter-clockwise, until it no longer obstructs the insertion of the pedestal in the bottom hole. If the screw starts to come out of its seat, it can be re-inserted by resting it in the threaded hole and turning it slightly clockwise.
- Fully insert the motor body onto the top of the pedestal, then secure the motor body by turning the tap screw clockwise until rotation is met with considerable resistance.
- For greater safety, lift the entire appliance by a few centimetres and check that none of the parts disconnect from the others. The appliance can now be put into operation.
Assembly in floor-based configuration:
- Place the base on a flat and stable surface, check that its location complies with the safety requirements in section 2 above. Therefore, it must be positioned at a safe distance from fixed or moving objects, build-ups or sources of water or other liquids, etc.
- Insert the part of the coupling shaft with a wider diameter into the hole in the base and screw it in, turning it clockwise, keeping it as upright as possible until it is fully tightened, that is, until further tightening is met with considerable resistance.
- Extract the tap screw located at the rear and bottom of the motor body, turning it slightly counter-clockwise, until it no longer obstructs the insertion of the coupling shaft in the bottom hole. If the screw starts to come out of its seat, it can be re-inserted by resting it in the threaded hole and turning it slightly clockwise.
- Fully insert the motor body onto the top of the coupling shaft, then secure the motor body by turning the tap screw clockwise until rotation is met with considerable resistance.
- For greater safety, lift the entire appliance by a few centimetres and check that none of the parts disconnect from the others. The appliance can now be put into operation.
Head tilt:
The top part, consisting of the propeller, cage and motor, can be tilted
slightly upwards from the horizontal position to promote the vertical
orientation of the air flow, especially if the appliance is assembled in the
floor-based configuration. Assistance by a second person is recommended to
adjust the head tilt. To perform this procedure, using a Phillips screwdriver,
slightly unscrew (one turn is enough) the screw on the right-hand side
immediately below the motor. The head will then be loose enough to be tilted
in the desired direction, but regardless no more than 3035 degrees upwards.
For greater dexterity, this procedure should be performed before installing
the body of the appliance on the telescopic pedestal or coupling shaft. Once
the necessary tilt has been achieved, tighten the previously loosened screw
until any further tightening is met with considerable resistance.
Adjusting the floor-standing height:
The telescopic pedestal can be adjusted to different heights within its range
to perfect the orientation of the flow. The assistance of a second person is
recommended to adjust the height of the pedestal. To perform this operation,
turn the locking flange at the bottom of the chrome-plated section of the
pedestal counter-clockwise, taking care not to unscrew the pedestal from the
base and, if the appliance is already assembled, making sure the body of the
appliance doesn’t suddenly drop down. Lift or lower the body of the appliance
to the desired height. Then, holding it in position, retighten the locking
flange until it is met with considerable resistance. Despite being more
convenient the other way around, for reasons of greater dexterity and safety,
this procedure should be carried out before the appliance is assembled, taking
into account that when fully extended, the pedestal can determine an overall
appliance height between 97 and 116 cm.
First start-up and operating check:
Perform the following operations in order:
If each operation has the described effect, the appliance is working properly and can be used as described below. If, however, anomalies are detected, disconnect the appliance from the mains and contact the dealer from which the product was purchased.
5. USING THE APPLIANCE
Use of the appliance entails the rotation of the blade, which moves the air in the room where it is installed and, if necessary, also heats it. There are two heating levels, proportional to the power level of the halogen lamp: full power mode evidently improves the speed at which the room is heated but does not necessarily generate greater long-term comfort; to the contrary, an overly high temperature can cause excessive dehydration of the air and rarefaction of the oxygen in the room, thus resulting in less comfort and higher energy consumption. The use of intermediate heating is therefore preferable, where possible.
The control panel buttons:
The same buttons are replicated with the same functions on the remote control.
Pressing each button activates the corresponding function, considering that it is possible to switch from the fan function (lamp off) to the heater function (lamp on) but not vice versa, since the lamp cannot be instantly cooled. Therefore, it is necessary to turn the appliance off and wait for the lamp cooling time, at minimum rotation speed (about 20 seconds). Then, once it has fully stopped, activate the fan.
The LED indicator lights:
Power-off timer
6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The appliance does not require maintenance, understood as the replacement of consumables or scheduled servicing; it is normally sufficient to regularly clean the surfaces. All cleaning must absolutely be carried out with the power cord disconnected and, before reconnecting, ensure that all parts are completely dry. Use a simple, strictly non-abrasive cloth and wipe gently: then dry approximately with a dry cloth. In any case, strictly avoid aggressive detergents, abrasive sponges, steel wool or other chemical cleaners: the non-accessible parts inside the grille (propeller or lamp) can be cleaned with a canister of compressed air from a considerable distance and with the appliance switched off for at least one hour, and therefore with the lamp fully cooled.
Replacing the remote control batteries:
To replace the batteries, press inwards on the battery tray lever, located on
the bottom edge of the remote control. Then, holding the lever pressed, pull
the tray out using the special notch to help. Replace the battery, ensuring
correct polarity (positive side up), then reinsert the tray by simply pushing
it all the way in.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Should any malfunctions occur other than those listed above, including the failed or partial heating of the rods with the switch on, a self-sufficient solution is not feasible and the appliance must be inspected by a qualified technician.
