Product Usage Instructions

Connection to Power Supply

The appliance must be connected to a properly grounded power outlet. The voltage of the outlet should match the specified voltage on the appliance.

Thermostat Settings

CONNECTION TO THE MAINS SUPPLY

The equipment should only be connected to an earth socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the barbecue.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

ATTENTION:

  • This appliance can be used by children from 8 years of age and by people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or with a lack of experience and knowledge if they have been ensured adequate surveillance, or if they have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and understood the related hazards.
  • Do not leave parts of the packaging within reach of children, nor use it as a game: it is an electrical appliance and should be considered as such.
  • Do not pull the power cable or the appliance itself to disconnect the plug from the socket.
  • During use, the appliance can reach particularly high temperatures.
  • Prevent children from using the appliance for fun.
  • The use of any electrical appliance involves the observance of some fundamental rules, in particular:

  • Do not operate the appliance without pots.
  • During use, the appliance must be positioned on a flat, horizontal, and heat-resistant surface and any splashes or grease stains. When cooking high-fat foods, these splashes are practically inevitable.
  • During use, the appliance must not be positioned near a wall or flammable surfaces.
  • Foods with a high fat content can burn easily: their cooking must therefore be monitored continuously.
  • The operation of the appliance must be carefully monitored. For safety reasons, it is recommended not to leave it within the reach of children.
  • During use, the plate and the base can reach very high temperatures, which are maintained for a long time even after the appliance has been turned off.
  • To avoid any burns, before touching it you must wait until it has completely cooled down.
  • To prevent electrocution, the appliance and the power cable must not be immersed in or come in contact with it.
  • Do not allow the power cable to come into contact with hot surfaces, which could damage the insulating coating.
  • Always unplug the power cord from the power outlet:
  • in case of failure or malfunction
  • before carrying out any cleaning operation
  • at the end of the use.
  • The possible use of an extension can lead to a loss of power and overheating of the cable. If it is necessary to use one, it must be ensured that the cable is completely extended, and not coiled.
  • Before moving, transporting, or storing the appliance, wait until it has completely cooled down.
  • Avoid storing or leaving the appliance outdoors, or in places where it is exposed to the sun or environmental humidity.
  • The manufacturer cannot accept any responsibility for damage resulting from improper use or failure to comply with the instructions.
  • The appliance is designed and built for a typically domestic use, and not for commercial use.
  • In order to comply with the legal requirements and to avoid dangers for the user, any repairs that may be necessary must be carried out by an authorized Technical Assistance Center.
  • In the event of damage or malfunctions, the appliance must be repaired at an authorized Technical Assistance Center.
  • Repairs require special tools. Avoid trying to repair it yourself.

FIRST USE

  • Before using the appliance for the first time, ensure good ventilation in the room and allow the appliance to warm up for 3 minutes at maximum power (without placing containers or saucepans on it).
  • During this operation, it may give off a slight smell and some smoke may escape. This phenomenon is completely normal and will not last long.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation by opening windows and/or balconies.
  • Then clean the appliance as described in the “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE” paragraph.

USE

  • Always place a saucepan on the plates before turning on the appliance.
  • Make sure that the external parts of the pan are clean and dry. Do not use painted pots/pans
  • To avoid damaging the cooking plate, use only flat-bottomed pots/pans. It is advisable to use specific pots for cooking on electric plates
  • Always use cookware with a diameter equal to or greater than that of the plate.
  • During use, position the power cable to avoid contact with excessively hot surfaces.

THERMOSTAT SETTINGS

WARNING LIGHT

  • The indicator light remains active during the heating of the plate. So it switches off as soon as the plate reaches the desired temperature

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning the appliance, make sure it is unplugged and completely cooled.
  • To avoid any risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water
  • Always clean the plates after each use to avoid accumulation of cooked food. Allow the plates to cool. Cleaning is simpler if the plates are slightly hot
  • Clean the cooking plate and the body of the appliance with a soft damp cloth.
  • For cleaning, avoid using abrasive sponges or concentrated detergents.

STORAGE

  • After cleaning, the grill should be stored indoors in a dry location.

PRODUCT WARRANTY

  • Melchioni Spa, based in Milan (Italy), via Colletta 37, recognizes a conventional guarantee on the product for two years from the date of the first purchase by the consumer.
  • This guarantee does not affect the validity of the legislation in force concerning consumer goods (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 n. 206 art. 128 and following), of which the consumer remains the owner.
  • This guarantee applies to the entire territory of the European Union.
  • The components or parts that are found to be defective for ascertained manufacturing causes will be repaired or replaced free of charge through the dealer, during the above warranty period.
  • Melchioni Spa reserves the right to make a complete replacement of the device, if repairability is impossible or excessively expensive, with another device of similar characteristics (Legislative Decree 6 September 2005 no. 206 art. 130) during the warranty period. In this case, the validity of the warranty remains that of the original purchase: the service provided under warranty does not extend the warranty period.
  • In any case, this appliance will not be considered defective in terms of materials or manufacture should it be adapted, changed, or adjusted, to comply with national or local safety and/or technical standards, in force in a country other than that for which it is was originally designed and manufactured. This appliance has been designed and built for domestic use only: any other use will invalidate the benefits of the guarantee.

The warranty does not cover:

  • parts subject to wear or tear, nor those parts that require periodic replacement and/or maintenance
  • professional use of the product
  • malfunctions or any defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, software / BIOS/firmware update not performed by authorized Melchioni Spa
  • repairs or interventions carried out by persons not authorized by Melchioni Spa
  • manipulation of assembly components or, where applicable, of the software
  • defects caused by falls or transport, lightning, voltage fluctuations, liquid infiltration, opening of the appliance, bad weather, fire, public disturbances, inadequate ventilation, or incorrect power supply
  • any accessories, for example: boxes, bags, batteries, etc. used with this product
  • home interventions for convenience checks or presumed defects
  • The recognition of the guarantee by Melchioni Spa is subject to the presentation of a tax document that proves the actual date of purchase.
  • The same must not show any tampering or deletions, in the presence of which Melchioni Spa reserves the right to refuse the provision of treatment under warranty.
  • The warranty will not be recognized if the serial number or model of the appliance is non-existent, abraded, or modified.
  • This warranty does not include any right to compensation for direct or indirect damage, of any nature, to people or things, caused by any inefficiency of the appliance.
  • Any extensions, promises, or services in this regard, insured by the retailer, will be borne by the latter.
