Keep this manual even after reading it, as you may need to refer to it in the future. The Melchioni Family team is at your disposal for any advice, instructions or suggestions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT, SAFE USE OF THE APPLIANCE
The following instructions must be read, understood and complied with before commissioning the appliance. They are especially useful for the protection of the safety, physical conditions and security of the operator and persons nearby, as well as for providing valuable information for preventing faults and malfunctions, for prolonging the service life, for reducing energy consumption and for environmental protection.

  • The appliance is designed for household and non-intensive use. Any professional use compromises the safety requirement and is a condition for inapplicability of the warranty.
  • The appliance is intended for indoor use and protected from inclement weather: use in an outdoor environment compromises the safety requirement and constitutes a potential hazard for the safety of the operator and persons nearby.
  • The appliance must not be used if it shows deformations, bulges, cracks in the casing, missing parts or other structural anomalies. If these conditions occur, disconnect the power supply and contact qualified technical personnel.
  • The appliance must not be used if it emits unusual noises, foul odours, smoke, vapours or any other type of exhalation. If these conditions occur, disconnect the power supply and contact qualified technical personnel.
  • The appliance must not be stored or used in excessively humid or dusty environments, in the presence of atmospheres saturated with gas, fumes, in excessive or low temperatures or under direct solar radiation.
  • The appliance must not be used in explosive atmospheres, near explosive, combustible, detonating or flammable material (e.g. petrol pumps, gas cylinders, etc.). Such use constitutes a serious risk to the safety of the operator and persons nearby and may cause fires or deflagrations.
  • Make sure that each part of the appliance, especially the cord, is placed at a safe distance from heat sources (e.g. radiators, convection heaters, fan heaters, water heaters and boilers), both during use and when not in use.
  • Place the appliance on a dry, flat, waterproof, stable and heat-resistant surface.
  • Do not place the appliance inside cupboards, bookshelves, shelving or other closed locations.
  • During use, the appliance must be constantly supervised: do not use it in the absence of operators or persons who are able to constantly check its correct operation.
  • Keep the motor block for any future relocations.
  • Do not exceed a load of 6 kg.
  • The appliance must be evenly filled and the safety cover pulled over the load before start-up.
  • Only insert laundry made of textile materials. Do not insert shoes, belts, backpacks or other rigid objects. Ensure that no coins, screws, lighters, wallets or other solid objects made of hard materials are inserted.
  • If the appliance needs to be left unattended, switch it off.
  • During use, the appliance must be placed at a minimum distance of 20 cm from surrounding objects on each side: this precaution prevents situations of risk.
  • Do not use empty except for commissioning purposes (chap. 4): the absence of clothing could subject the appliance to excessive operating cycles in addition to constituting an unnecessary waste of power.
  • Do not touch any parts of the appliance during its operation. Any unbalancing and falls could cause burns or physical injury.
  • Ensure a standstill period of at least 10 minutes at the end of each use.
  • Do not place any objects on the appliance while in use.
  • Before stowing the appliance, make sure that all of its parts have suitably dried.
  • Do not use the appliance if one or more of the parts listed in the following chapter are missing or damaged: contact your dealer for repair.
  • Periodically check the conditions of the parts making up the appliance, in particular the power cord: if any anomalies are found, refrain from using the appliance and contact qualified technical personnel.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges or aggressive detergents for cleaning operations: refer to the following chapter for complete requirements.
  • Cleaning operations must be carried out taking care to disconnect the appliance from the power supply: refer to the following chapter for the relevant requirements.
  • The appliance must be connected to a compliant electrical system. The electrical system must have a power rating equal to or greater than that of the appliance and must be earthed. Check the condition of the power outlets to which the appliance will be connected.
  • The appliance should be connected to a reasonably easy-to-reach power outlet in order to facilitate emergency disconnections.
  • Before connecting the plug of the power cord to the socket, make sure that the voltage of your household installation corresponds to the voltage indicated on the appliance.
  • Do not connect the appliance to extension cords, power strips, multi-socket strips, timers, controlled sockets or other devices that can start it up independently.
  • If the appliance is not to be used for a prolonged period of time, it is advisable to unplug the power cord from the socket: this will extend the life of the appliance and help reduce energy consumption.
  • Do not disconnect the power supply by pulling on the cord: grasp the plug firmly with one hand, place the other hand on the frame of the electrical outlet and disconnect with a quick, sharp movement.
  • Before disconnecting the appliance, make sure that it is switched off, unless you need to disconnect it in an emergency situation due to abnormal behaviour as described in this chapter.
  • The appliance must be kept out of the reach of children under 8 years of age; in any case make sure that it is not used for play.
  • If the appliance is used by children, even if they are over 8 years old, or by persons with reduced cognitive, sensory or motor skills, they must be instructed about the dangers of incorrect use of the appliance and it must be guaranteed that the information has been correctly and fully understood. Adequate supervision must however be ensured.
  • Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of liquid accumulations or sources, such as swimming pools, tanks, tubs, showers, sinks, other sanitary fixtures, faucets, pipes, sprinklers, bottles, storage vessels, expansion vessels, watercourses, flowerpots and similar. Do not place containers holding liquids on top of the appliance; make sure that the power cord or electrical plug is never submerged.
  • Do not touch any parts of the appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not move the appliance by tugging on the cord or drain pipe.
  • The garments must be inserted damp and not soaked: excessively wet garments render the appliance ineffective, and its use superfluous.
  • Do not place the appliance under or above electrical connections such as power outlets, including wall sockets, extension cords, power strips, electrical adaptors, switches or similar.
  • There is no reason to disassemble the appliance, not even after it has been decommissioned. It is composed of parts that could be swallowed by children or persons with reduced cognitive ability.
  • Do not carry out any repairs yourself; in the event of a fault, have the appliance inspected by a qualified technician.
  • None of the parts of the appliance must be modified under any circumstances: doing so normally constitutes a serious impairment of the safety requirement, a condition for immediate forfeiture of the warranty and does not lead to any increase in performance.
  • Do not subject the power cord to excessive bending or kinking: any internal damage to the cable which cannot be detected constitute a serious safety hazard.
  • Place the appliance at an adequate distance from moving parts such as curtains, door and window sashes, hatches or similar in order to avoid accidental contact.
  • Ensure that no objects can fall on the appliance.
  • Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface and ensure that the appliance cannot move independently due to gravity or external forces.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.

COMMISSIONING AND FIRST START-UP

Some preliminary operations are necessary before first use. Proceed as follows:

  • Unpack the appliance and check the conditions and completeness of the equipment, as indicated in the previous chapter.
  • Keep the packaging for 15 days in case it needs to be returned to the retailer; after this period, dispose of it in accordance with the instructions on the separation of materials indicated on it.
  • Read this manual in its entirety, paying particular attention to the instructions for safe use.
  • Carefully remove the motor block located on the bottom part:
    1. Set the lever switch in the position indicated by the arrow.
    2. Remove the motor block by pulling it outwards.
  • Fully remove any stickers from the surface of the appliance.
  • Place the appliance on a flat, dry and stable surface, taking care to reserve 10 cm of space on all sides, at the rear, and above the appliance for the necessary air circulation.
  • Refer to chapter 2 for further details and instructions on appliance positioning and installation.
  • Connect the electrical plug to a wall socket with a regular upstream residual current device and proper earthing.
  • When the plug is inserted, the drum might rotate slightly, which, however, does not pose a hazard to the user. This reaction is foreseeable and does not constitute an indication of any type of failure.
  • Ensure that the cord does not come into contact with hot parts and that it is not subjected to excessive bending or kinking.
  • Check that the door is properly closed, pushing the handle fully down.
  • Set the lever switch to ON, turning it clockwise.
  • Run the appliance empty for 30 seconds until drum rotation reaches full speed.
  • Check that the drum rotates normally, that the vibrations are not excessive, that the appliance does not move during operation, and that the rotation speed does not fluctuate once stabilized.
  • Upon completion of the check, switch off the appliance by turning the lever switch to OFF.

USING THE APPLIANCE

OPENING THE LOADING COMPARTMENT

  1. Check that the lever switch is set to OFF. If not, set it to OFF.
  2. Press the opening button until the door clicks open.
  3. Open the loading compartment, lifting the door from the handle.

FILLING THE LOADING COMPARTMENT AND PREPARATION
The following instructions, described in detail in the previous chapter, serve to ensure not only safe use of the appliance but also its best performance.

  • Insert the garments, arranging the lighter garments such as underwear, foulards and scarves in the central part of the drum.
  • Arrange the clothing evenly and uniformly, respecting the symmetry of the drum and without piling them up in any one spot.
  • Spread the clothes out, particularly in the case of modest loads, so that the bottom of the drum is completely covered.
  • Do not overload the drum. Generally speaking, the maximum load is 6 kg of wet clothing.
  • Once the drum is filled, gently press the garments down with an open palm.
  • Position the safety cover over the laundry in a central, horizontal and outstretched position.
  • Close the door until a click is heard.
  • Place a wide, low container on the ground near the appliance, positioning it under the drain so that the pipe spout easily overhangs it. It is recommended to use containers with a capacity of at least two litres.
  • The appliance can now be started.

START AND STOP FUNCTIONS

  • The appliance starts when the lever switch is turned clockwise and set to ON. An audible signal indicates that rotation has begun and that the switch must no longer be moved.
  • If this operation is met with difficulty, check that the door is properly closed as it is fitted with a safety system that prevents start-up with the door open.
  • Do not use excessive force to avoid damaging the door or the locking mechanism.
  • The cycle will run for more or less time depending on the desired level of moisture at the end of the treatment but should not take more than three minutes.
  • To stop the appliance, turn the lever switch counter-clockwise to OFF, then wait a few seconds until rotation fully stops, assisted by the intervention of the braking system.
  • Open the door by pressing the opening button, lift it and proceed to extract the garments.
  • Do not try to open the door with force.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEST USE

  • The appliance should be monitored during operation, especially during the first minute, as instability and vibrations owing to poorly arranged garments in the drum could suddenly occur during acceleration, which lasts about 20 seconds.
  • In the event of excessive vibrations, stop the appliance and improve the distribution of the load.
  • Once the speed has stabilised, excessive swaying or instability is not likely to occur.
  • While in operation, the appliance nonetheless generates perceptible but not dangerous vibrations. As the garments progressively dry, the vibrations tend to decrease.
  • It is preferable to insert garments that are not soaked or overly dripping. This is both to avoid overloading the drum, which has a maximum load capacity of 6 kg, considering wet garments, and to prevent the container from filling up too quickly and making it necessary to stop the appliance to empty it.
  • Monitor the container, which fills up faster at the start of the cycle: about 80% of the water is produced in the first 30 seconds. If necessary, stop the appliance and empty the container. Starting and stopping the appliance does not constitute problematic use or cause the deterioration of the appliance.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. The product does not require maintenance understood as the replacement of consumables or scheduled servicing.
  2. The appliance simply needs to be tilted slightly in the direction of the drain to promote the outflow of any residual water at the end of its use, and the parts left to dry for a suitable period of time with the door open.
  3. To clean the surfaces, use only a damp cloth and avoid aggressive cleaners or abrasive sponges.
  4. Never introduce any detergent into the drum. Since the appliance is predominantly used with freshly washed laundry, the need for internal cleaning is not to be expected. Therefore, there is no need for rinsing. If relocating the appliance, lift it from the handles only.
