Cinnamons Fancy Folded Star
Supplies to bring to class
- Sewing machine in working order with all cords and pedals, machine feet and your machine manual
- Grid Glider (if you use it for ¼” seams and to avoid having to mark many seams) and Perkins Perfect Seam Guide
- Cotton piecing thread and bobbins already wound and ready to sew
- Scissors and snips
- Rotary cutter and rulers (we recommend Creative Grids rulers and you will need at least one that is 6 ½” x 24 ½” and one that is 12 ½” x 2 ½”)
- Seam ripper
- Pin cushion and straight pins-glass head, not plastic
- Small iron and ironing mat or wooly mat
- Frixxion fabric marker for marking fabrics
- WALKING FOOT for your machine
- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for class: hot ruler, purple thang and a sew steady table or large table for your machine bed. If you have a Sew EZ table that you travel with, it would be great for this class!
Pattern: Fancy Folded Star Pillow (available at Cinnamon’s)
Fabric
- Eight fat quarters for your star layers (you can repeat fabrics or not, your choice)
- ¾ yard background
- 16 ½” x 16 ½” square of muslin (will not be seen)

You will also need to finish your pillow a 5/8” cover up button for the middle of your pillow. It will be covered with matching fabric for the center of the starff.
BEFORE CLASS
Starch (highly recommended!) and press all fabrics.
Cut your fabrics as shown on page 2 of the pattern. Make sure to label your
fabrics so you know what order you will be adding them to the pillow in class.
If you want to use a zipper for the back of your pillow, feel free. If not, Janet will show you how to make the sandwich back in class.
