Before use

Clean the appliance, jug and lid as per the instructions under “Cleaning and maintenance”. The blade unit is very sharp and must be handled with the utmost care. The blade unit should be removed and washed separately.

Main components (see illustration page 3)

  1. Filler cap
  2. Lid
  3. Blender jug 8 litres
  4. Seal (not shown in illustration)
  5. Blade unit
  6. Lock ring
  7. Motor section
  8. Switch/speed knob

Use

Do not add ingredients with a temperature above 50 °C, and do not run the appliance continuously for more than 3 minutes.
The blender can be used for blending, chopping, puréeing and mixing, e.g. milkshakes and sauces. You can also crush ice for drinks, etc. Fit the blender jug to the motor section after cleaning by first placing the seal around the blade unit. Then place the blade unit in the base of the blender jug and then screw the lock ring onto the blender jug. Make sure that the appliance is switched off and then place the blender jug on the motor section so that the lock ring fits into the slots on the motor section. Check to ensure that the jug is straight and stable.
The blender motor moves the blade at high speed in order to guarantee thorough mixing. It is important, therefore, that the blender is always placed on a flat, dry surface before it is started. Also check that the blender jug is
correctly positioned on the motor section, otherwise the appliance will not start. Remember to place the lid and filler cap on the blender jug before starting the blender. Fill the blender jug with the ingredients to be mixed (never exceed the maximum limit of 1.8 l) and place it on the motor unit. Check that the speed knob is set to “OFF” and then plug the appliance in. Turn the speed knob to “ON” (indicator lights come on) and then turn to the required speed setting. Mix for a few seconds and then turn the speed knob back to “OFF” and check the consistency. Continue mixing as required.
It is recommended that you try various speeds to work out what is best for the ingredients you are mixing.
Never remove the blender jug from the appliance when the motor is running. You can also select one of the preset programmes suitable for the ingredients you are mixing.

Programmes

Turn the switch to “ON” and then press any programme button. The programme begins and the indicator light for the selected programme comes on. Always keep an eye on the mixing process and switch the appliance off (by turning the speed knob to “OFF” or pressing the programme button) if the required results have been achieved before the programme ends automatically. Always unplug the appliance after use. If the appliance is not switched off manually within 3 minutes, the appliance switches off automatically.

Smoothie

Programme suitable for smoothies, etc. The blender works at various speeds alternating for approx. 2 minutes unless it is turned off manually by turning the speed knob to “OFF” or by pressing the programme button.

ICE CRUSH

Ice crushing. Put a maximum of 200 g of ice into the jug. The blender works in pulse intervals for approx. 1 minute unless it is turned off by turning the speed knob to “OFF” or by pressing the programme button.

Important!

Use tepid water to clean the jug after mixing frozen berries or crushing ice, as the cold ingredients will have chilled the jug and water that is too hot may create stress in the glass and so cause it to crack.

PULSE

Use pulse mode for a short time only or for crushing ice. In pulse mode the button must be kept depressed in order for the blender to work. As soon as the button is released, the blender switches off.

Important!

If deep-frozen ingredients (e.g. fruit, berries, vegetables) are to be mixed, they must be mixed immediately upon being put into the glass jug, as they can freeze into a lump that may block the blade. If you wish to add additional
ingredients or liquid during use, you can do so. Make sure that the ingredients to be added are not too thick or too heavy for the motor to process. If necessary, add a little liquid through the lid if the motor is struggling or stop the mixing process and scrape the mixture toward the blade using a rubber spatula.
MAKE SURE THAT THE LID AND FILLER CAP ARE BOTH PLACED ON
THE JUG BEFORE RESTARTING THE BLENDER! Never remove the glass jug from the appliance when the motor is running.

Overheating

If the appliance’s overheating cut-out is activated and the appliance switches off (before 3 minutes of use): Turn the switch to “OFF” and unplug the appliance. Wait 30 minutes before restarting the appliance.

Cleaning and maintenance

Clean the jug immediately after use.

  • Fill the jug with 1 litre of hot water and 2 to 3 drops of washing-up Use only the recommended amount of water and washing-up liquid. Too much washing-up liquid produces more foam, causing the jug to overflow.
