APPLIANCE PERFORMANCE

  • This appliance is designed to raise the outlet water temperature by and average of 25 °C above the source water temperature and can be adjusted by the gas control knob located on the top of the appliance.
  • In the event that the temperature lift is insufficient simply run water through the appliance once returning the heated water to the source water reservoir then run again through the appliance until the desired temperature reached.
  • Attach the DC pump & hose assembly to the appliance by quick connecting to the water inlet, then to the electrical connection marked “pump”.
  • Attach the gas hose and regulator to the “gas inlet” then connect to the propane gas cylinder, tighten all connections with a spanner.

SAFETY FEATURE

This appliance is equipped with the following safety features:

  • Over temperature sensor – the appliance will not allow the burner to remain in operation once the outlet water temperature reaches 50 °C, the burner will automatically relight once the outlet temperature falls below 50 °C.
  • Water flow sensor – water must be flowing through the system to allow the burner to ignite. In the case that the water supply is restricted or ceases e.g. the water regulation switch is in the „OFF“ position, the burner will be extinguished and will not relight until the water flow recommences.
  • Tilt switch – in the event that the appliance is moved during operation or is being operated on an unstable or non-solid surface the appliance will shut down and must be switched off until a suitable surface is located.

SETTING UP THE APPLIANCE

  • Remove all components from the storage baand then place the appliance on a solid, stabsurface and straighten out all hoses to guartee no kinks or twists remain.
  • Turn the gas cylinder on in an anti-clockwise direction full turn, then check connections for leaks with soapy water (DO NOT use a flame). If a leak is detected turn the cylinder valve off & retighten all connections then retest. If no leaks are detected turn the cylinder valve to the off position.
  • Swing the water outlet pipe away from it is storage position to the side of the appliance. Take the shower head & hose assembly and attach to the water outlet.
  • Check that the power switch at the rear of the appliance is in the “OFF” position. Connect the 12V DC lead in to the power socket marked “DC input” and then connect cigarette fitting in to a suitable DC power source.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE

  • IMPORTANT- During operation ensure that all air inlets & exhausts are kept free from obstruction and closure.

  • WARNING- This heater is not to be used in wind speeds above 10kph. The heater will extinguish at used in wind speed above 10kph. This feature is governed by the safety feature fitted to the appliance.

  • Submerge the pump in a suitable reservoir of clean water, DO NOT use water direct from rivers, lakes or the ocean. Locate the shower head in the desired position & ensure that the flow regulation switch is in the “open” position.

  • Turn the gas cylinder valve on in an anti-clockwise direction one full turn then turn the power switch to the “ON” position. Water should start to flow from the shower head within 20seconds then the electronic ignition should be heard igniting the burner. The burner flame can be seen operating through the viewing window located on the front of the appliance.

  • Taking care to measure the temperature of the water flowing from the shower head, the temperature can be adjusted by turning the gas control knob from the minimum to maximum heat position fo reach the most desired heat level

  • The water flow can be stopped at any time by sliding the regulation switch to the “OFF” position. The burner will then extinguish while the pump will still continue to operate.

  • To reignite the burner slide the flow regulation switch to the “ON” position, water will commence to flow and the burner will ignite within 5 seconds.

  • If the system is off because of overheat temperature on the water outlet, the system will be off automatically and not be restarted until operate manually. To restart the system, set the Power switch to the “OFF” position, and wait for the water outlet
temperature lower to the limit of 50°C, then switch to “ON” again, burner will be reignited, and hot water will commence to flow.

  • IMPORTANT: Water remaining in the heater exchanger while the flow is stopped may become hot. When the flow is resumed the user must check the temperature output to ensure that it is suitable for use and has not become too hot.

  • Once the user has finished using the appliance switch the flow regulator to the “OFF” position and then turn the “Power” switch “OFF”.

STORING THE APPLIANCE

  • With the appliance operating turn the cylinder gas valve in a clockwise direction to the “OFF” position. The burner will continue to operate until all gas has bled from the hose & regulator assembly. When this is completed switch the power off.
  • Disconnect the DC input, pump & hose assembly from the appliance. Hold the pump approximately 1 meter above the ground and allow all water to drain out before rolling up and storing in the carry bag
  • Disconnect the regulator & hose assembly from the appliance from the appliance & gas cylinder and store in carry bag.
  • Disconnect the shower head & hose from the water outlet, hold the pump approximately 1 meter above the ground and allow all water to drain out before rolling up and storing in the carry bag. Return the water outlet to it’s storage position.
