CE-marking – The hoods correspond to the European standards for personal protective equipment of categorie III.: Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento S.p.A. (Centrocot), Piazza Sant’Anna 2, 21052 Busto Arsizio VA notified body n. 0624 (Regulation (EU) 2016/425 for Personal Protective Equipment – module C2 and module D). The european standards for chemical protective clothing define six types of protection, witch are symbolized in one pictogram:
- Typ 1 – gas tight clothing
- Typ 2 – non gas tight clothing
- Typ 3 – Liquid tight clothing
- Typ 4 – Spray tight clothing
- Typ 5 – Particle tight clothing
- Typ 6 – Limited splash tight clothing
DS products specification correspond to the protection types of the European standards. ProSafe XP hoods offer protection of type PB 3B. The size table combines the body measurements with the standard sizes.
- The ProSafe XP hoods are ONE SIZE fits all.
- The Symbol of the „Open Book“ remembers the wearer to familiazize himself with the „Instructions for Use“.
- ProSafe XP hoods are antistatically treated and offer electrostatic protection according to EN1149-1. The person wearing the electrostatic dissipative protective clothing shall be properly earthed. The resistance between the person skin and earth shall be less than 108 Ω e.g. by wearing adequate footwear on dissipative or conductive floors; Electrostatic dissipative protective clothing shall not be open or removed whilst inpresence of flammable or explosive atmospheres or while handling flammable or explosive substances; electrostatic dissipative protective clothing is intended to be worn in Zones 1, 2, 20, 21 and 22 (see EN 60079-10-1 [7] and EN 60079-10-2 [8]) in which the minimum ignition energy of any explosive atmosphere is not less than 0,016 mJ; electrostatic dissipative protective clothing shall not be used in oxygen enriched atmospheres, or in Zone 0 (see EN 60079-10-1 [7]) without prior approval of the responsible safety engineer the electrostatic dissipative performance of the electrostatic dissipative protective clothing can be affected by wear and tear, laundering and possible contamination electrostatic dissipative protective clothing shall be worn in such a way that it permanently covers all non-complying materials during normal use (including bending movements).

TYPICAL AREAS OF APPLICATION
ProSafe XP protective hoods are used to protect employees from hazardous
substances or sensitive products and work processes against human
contamination. Depending on the hazard potential of the chemical and the
exposure conditions, they are used to protect against fine particles and
sprays of liquids.
PREPARATIONS:
Do not use faulty hoods. In the event of functional defects, please notify
DS. Correct dressing ensures safe handling.
RESTRICTIONS ON USE:
Please ensure that you have selected the appropriate protective suit for
your application. If you have any questions, please contact your ProSafe XP
hoods supplier or DS. The decision as to which protective equipment (gloves,
respiratory protection, etc.) ProSafe XP hoods can be combined with and how
long they can be worn in certain individual cases (with regard to wearing
comfort and thermal stress) is always the sole responsibility of the user. DS
accepts no liability for improper use.
STORAGE:
The PPE can be stored for at least 5 years (
- (see ), provided there are no signs of damage. ProSafe XP hoods can be stored in a standard commercial manner, cool and dry, without direct exposure to sunlight. DISPOSAL: ProSafe XP hoods can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner either thermally or in landfill sites. The method of disposal depends solely on the contamination during use.
