Fan Rotation Base

ME-1251

Introduction
The Fan Rotation Base is designed to hold any fan compatible with PASCO carts and features a rotating platform, which can be used to demonstrate the vector nature of force. The base includes raised markings which indicate the angle the fan makes with the path of the cart. The accessory is designed to attach to any PASCO dynamics cart, such as the Smart Cart (ME-1240 or ME-1241) or the PAScar (ME-6933 or ME-6934)

Features

1 Mounting screw storage holes Store the mounting screws here when they are not being used to secure the Fan Rotation Base to the cart.
2 Cart mass slots Each of these slots can be used to hold a Compact Cart Mass (ME-6755), increasing the total mass of the cart and base system.
3 Mounting holes Insert the mounting screws into these holes and turn clockwise to secure the base in place on a cart.
4 Numerical markings Use to identify the angle of the fan with respect to the track. A raised line on the rotating disk indicates the current angle.
Required equipment:
· PASCO cart, such as the Smart Cart (ME-1240 or ME-1241) or the PAScar (ME-6933 or ME-6934)
· Any PASCO cart fan, such as the Smart Fan Accessory (ME-1242)

1. Remove the mounting screws from the storage holes on top of the rotating platform.
2. Place the Fan Rotation Base into the accessory tray of the cart.
3. Insert the mounting screws into the mounting holes. Tighten to secure the base in place.
4. Attach the fan to the attachment points on the rotating platform. A small amount of downward force may be required to secure the fan in place.
Rotating the base
The base is designed to rotate in 15 degree intervals, snapping between each position. The flat base features raised lines to indicate these positions, as well as numerical markings for 0° and 45°. A single raised line on the disk aligns with these markings, indicating the angle of the fan.
