Installation guide
- Philips EvoKit Click LED lxl – lx4 – I x4 Standard and SR
This installation guide is only valid for the following Philips EvoKit Click models: For more information please visit www.Philips.com/Evokit.
- Evokit SR Models are designed to easily install compatible sensors in the field.A small cut-out in the Evokit End Cap is provided for mounting the sensor bracket and sensor. Each Evokit SR is supplied with a cover plate over this cutout.This cover plate (which is discarded after sensor installation) holds two control wires which are connected to the sensor. The sensor bracket and sensor can be installed in the End Cap before or after installing the Light Engine.

Before installation, turn power off.
Remove host fixture contents
- Turn power off and remove original cover.
- Remove Fluorescent tubes.

Do not install in a damaged fixture. Install the EvoKit only in NEMA type G or
Type NFG t-grids with a minimum troffer depth of 3″. Before installation, turn
power off.

Luminaire wiring and electrical parts may be damaged when drilling for
installation of LED retrofit kit. Check for enclosed wiring and components.

For your protection, carefully read these warnings and instructions in their
entirety before installing or maintaining this equipment. These instructions
do not attempt to cover all installation and maintenance situations. If you do
not understand these instructions or if additional information is required,
contact your local Philips representative. Reta.in these instructions for
maintenance reference.

The EvoKit must be installed and maintained by a professional electrician in
accordance with the applicable federal.state and local laws, regulations and
electrical codes, and the installation instructions provided in this document.
This professional should be familiar with the construction and operation of
this product and any hazards involved. If not qualified, do not attempt
installation. Contact a qualified electrician.
WARNING
RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY
This equipment may have sharp edges. Wear gloves to prevent cuts or abrasions
when removing from carton, handling and maintaining this equipment.
WARNING
RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK
To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet
metal or other sharp objects.
Notice
- Do not use abrasive materials, glass cleaners or other solvents on metal panels or lens. To clean the faceplate, use mild soap solution.
- Do not expose the product to substances and /or materials containing sulfur, – chlorine or another table.
Caution
This kit is designed for permanent installation in ordinary (Non-Hazardous)
locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable
local codes. Do not use in areas of limited ventilation or in high ambient
enclosures.
Caution
Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical
components during kit installation except if specifically mentioned in this
installation guide.
Caution
Handle components with care. Do not drop, slide or scratch any of the
components to prevent visual damage to the product, loss of functionality or
difficulties during the installation.
Host lighting fixture
The Philips EvoKit is designed for installation in a wide variety of 2×4, 2×2
and I x4 indoor fluorescent-based fixtures in horizontal applications.
- The Philips EvoKit Click is non-air handling
- Install the Philips EvoKit only in fluorescent-based host lighting fixtures with a minimum depth of 3″
- Install the Philips EvoKit only in combination with 15/ I 6″ NEMA G or NEMA NFGt-grids
- Due to the wide variety in troffers and ceiling grids, it is recommended that the installer does a test intall before commencing a renovation
- Please verify voltage on the Philips EvoKit product label matches the mains voltage
- Remove the belly pan. If the remaining troffer height is limited, remove the ballast.
- Disconnect host mixture ballast from mains.
Notice
Make sure to remove packaging from EvoKit components before installing. Do not
install with total power input greater than power rating of original fixture.
When space in the troffer is limited, remove original ballast.
Installation Troffer Label
THIS LUMINAIRE HAS BEEN MODIFIED FROM ITS ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION. THIS LUMINAIRE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT THE ORIGINAL LAMPS STATED ONTHE RELAMP LABEL
- Place Troffer Label (A) inside original troffer.
Notice
It is imperative to apply the retrofit warning sticker included with the
product in order to alert the end user that this luminaire will no longer
operate on the originally intended lamps.
Installation of Side Panels
- Install Side panels (B) in-between troffer and T-grid.
- Slide Side Panels (B) outwards as far as possible.
- Side panels (B) in their final position.
- Evoked end panels come with integrated securement tabs. Securement tabs can be affixed to existing trofter housing with self-tapping screws (not provided).Additional earthquake tabs can be purchased if required (502435).
Installation of Philips/Bodine Emergency Driver (Optional)
For installation of the Philips/Bodine Emergency LED Driver, please refer to the installation included with the Philips / Bodine Emergency LED Driver Optional mounting holes for installing a compatible Philips/Bodine Emergency LED Driver are located on the Light Engine (E). The distance between the mounting holes is ~414 mm.
Installation Closing Panel
- Install Closing Panel (C) in between troffer and T-grid, making sure the tabs at each corner of the LED panel slide into the respective slots on the side panel.
- Push Closing Panel (C) upward into position. Secure panels and establish ground by turning each fastener (D) 90 degrees.
- Install Closing Panel (C) in between troffer and T-grid, making sure the tabs at each corner of the Closing Panel slide into the respective slots on the side panel.
- Push Closing Panel (C) upward into position until tab engages into slot to temporarily secure. Fixate panels and establish ground by turning each fastener (D) 90 degrees.
Installation Light Engine
- Maneuver the Light Engine (E) in the slots of one of the two Closing Panels (C).The design of the Closing Panel (C) prevents the Light Engine (E) of falling out during electrical and ground connection (see detail).

While instaling the Light Engine (E) and Closing Panel (C), make sure the
electrical wiring is not pinched between panels.
Ground connection

Proper grounding of EvoKit metal parts is required to ensure personal safety.
Notice
Establish new electrical connections to the mains via connectors that can be
used in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and
electrical codes.
- Situation| Grounding : Screw grounding cable from Light engine (E) to original troffer if host fixture ground connection is made through host fixture.
- Situation 2 Grounding : Connect to the incoming ground lead from conduit.
Mains connection
- Connect main cables and hide connected wires behind Light engine (E).
Final installation Light Engine
- Rotate the light engine (E) upwards and forward into position, making sure the tabs at each end of the Light Engine slide into the respective slots on the side panel.
- Move Light engine (E) slightly towards you until thee springs at each end of the light engine “Click” into DOsition
Connection 0-10V and Dali (Optional)

Notice
- Use 18 AWG Solid Copper Wire
- Strip Wire 3/8″
- Exposed copper of unused lead wires must be insulated for proper operation
Optional: For connection EvoKit 0-10V or Dali input, use indicated connections on the driver.

- Connect the violet and brown wires which are attached to the cover plate to the sensor
ERI00 Emergency Relay Installation
Description
- ERI00 Emergency Relay (ER)

Comments
- Attach to EvoKit Click light engine
- Connect ERI00 to SR driver
- Connect ERI00 to SR Driver
- Connect ERI00 to EM neutral
- Connect ERI00 to EM line

- Attach the ER100 to the EvoKit Click light engine wich two #8 screws into the holes provided.
- Insert the orange jumper wire into the two orange tenninals on the ERIOO.
- Remove the purple and brown wires going to the sensor from the SR driver terminals.
- Reconnect the purple and brown wires coming from the SR sensor to one set of the purple and brown tennlnals on the ERIOO.
- Use the shorter pair of purple and brown wires to make a connection from the purple and brown SR terminals of the SR driver to the other set of purple and brown tenninals on the ERIOO.
- Connect the white wire to the white tennlnal on the ERi 00 and connect the black wired stripe wire 10 the black tenninal on the ERIOO.
- The unconnected ends of the white wire and the black wired stripe wire are to be connected to the emergency mains
EvoKit with selectable Power and Color
- The driver power setting is selectable with a built-in 3-position mechanical switch.
- The LED color setting Is selectable with a built-In 3-position mechanical switch.
Note: Please ensure the power and color selection switches are In the desired position before Installation of the light engine.
Note: If an emergency LED driver is installed, the installer will need to choose either 3500K or 5000K as the color that will be present during the emergency operation. This is not set by the color-selectable switch of the luminaire LED driver; the color selection will be determined by hardwiring the emergency LED driver to either WW (3500K) or CW (5000K). The 4000K color option is not available with the use of an emergency LED driver. If a 4000K color is required during emergency operations, an emergency lighting inverter that powers the entire luminaire will be needed. The color selectable switch of the luminaire LED driver will then be used to set the 4000K color.
