  • Regardless of bicycle frame tube configuration, the best structural support is achieved when the Transfer Neo seatpost is inserted at least to 1) the minimum insertion mark on the seatpost, AND 2) the minimum insertion point specified by the manufacturer of your bicycle frame. Neglecting these two items risks causing damage to the frame and seatpost, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Make sure that the Transfer Neo remote lever does not interfere with normal brake and shift lever operation. Failure to do so can result in loss of control, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Make sure that the bottom cap of the Transfer Neo seatpost never touches any part of the frame, or the rear shock through the entire range of shock travel. Make sure that no part of the internal actuation mechanism at the base of the seatpost contacts any internal seat tube parts such as frame pivots or bottom bracket parts. Failure to do this risks causing damage to the frame and seatpost, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Make sure your seatpost is the correct outer diameter to fit your bicycle seat tube inner diameter. Using the incorrect size of the Transfer Neo seatpost on your bicycle can lead to product damage, personal injury, or both.
  • The anodized surface of the upper seatpost, like a rear shock body, serves as a sealing surface. Always take every precaution to avoid causing abrasion damage to the anodized surface of the upper seatpost. The upper portion of the Transfer Neo seatpost may be carefully clamped in a workstand.
  • The maximum torque for the Transfer Neo seatpost collar binder bolt is 44 In-lb (5 N•m). Actual required torque will depend on rider weight, bike frame, and type/brand of seatpost/seat collar. Correct torque will support the  rider and not interfere with seatpost function. If the torque is too high, the seatpost may not return fully from all positions or may not move up and down properly. If the torque is too low, the seatpost may not support the weight of the rider or may not remain stationary at the seat tube. Failure to use the proper torque for your seatpost/seat collar combination can result in loss of control, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Use the Transfer Neo seatpost in a safe, controlled environment BEFORE using it during rides in order to fully understand how the seatpost functions. A sudden, unexpected impact from the saddle could cause you to lose control of your bicycle, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
  • Press and hold the lever as you change the position. Use your body to press the saddle down as you change to a lower saddle height setting and to guide your saddle as it returns to a higher setting.
  • Once the seatpost is in your desired position, release the remote lever. Always release the remote lever first before releasing the pressure on the saddle with your body.
  • Practice within your abilities to gain expertise in using the Transfer Neo seatpost before using it in more technical riding situations.

DOWNLOAD THE RIDE FOX BIKE APP

The Transfer Neo uses FOX’s proprietary wireless technology and the Ride FOX Bike App to report battery life, update firmware, and actuate the seatpost. The Ride FOX Bike App is required to get the latest firmware updates and is strongly recommended. The seatpost can be setup and used with or without the App. The Ride FOX Bike App can be used on both iOS and Android. Scan the QR code and download the Ride FOX Bike App found in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Visit ridefox.com for more information on downloading and using the Ride FOX Bike App.

FOX PROPRIETARY WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY

FOX’s proprietary wireless protocol enables ultrafast response time, quick wake-up, and a low-power sleep mode when your bike is stationary. This enables riders to get the most out of their Transfer Neo system.

TRANSFER NEO SYSTEM

SEATPOST AND REMOTE LEVER

  • The controller and LiPo rechargeable battery are attached to the collar area of the seatpost. The controller has a pairing button for initial setup to the handlebar lever and a multi-colored LED to indicate status information. The controller operates as a “shake to wake” system so there is no on/off button. The system will go to sleep after a period of inactivity. System “wake-up” will occur when the bike is moved. The electric motor is on the bottom of the post and covered by the motor cover (not pictured).
  • “Bike park mode” can be activated through the App. In this mode, the lever will not activate the seatpost if pressed accidentally. Bike park mode can be disabled through the App or by quickly pressing and releasing the lever 3 times.
  • Transport mode” can be enabled through the App to turn the seatpost off and make it more difficult to wake the system. This saves battery capacity while transporting the bike. Transport mode can be disabled by lifting the bike ~1.5 feet from the ground and dropping it onto the tires, then pressing the lever.

CHARGE THE CONTROLLER BATTERY

  • The battery is removable and has an estimated run time of about 30 hours. The battery charge level can be monitored through the App and a low battery is also indicated by a colored LED that blinks once when installing the battery onto the controller and after each lever press:

    • Yellow LED: 10-25%
    • Red LED: less than 10%
  • To charge the battery on the controller, follow the instructions below.

    1. To remove the battery from the controller, disengage the latch and rotate the battery out (see Figure A). When the battery is removed from the controller, install the protective cover (shaped like a “dummy” battery) to protect the controller.
      NOTICE
Do not discard the controller’s protective cover. This protective cover is critical for protecting the controller when the battery is not connected (for example, during charging off the bike, storage, or transport). If left uncovered, the controller can sustain damage through exposure to elements such as water and debris.

    2. Plug the charging cable into a USB power supply. Then plug the charging cable into the charger (see Figure B). Install the battery onto the charger and close the latch to secure it (see Figures B and C).

    3. The red charging LED will illuminate during charging. The green LED will illuminate when battery charging is complete (approximately 1.5 hours). 15 minutes of charging yields approximately 1.5 hours of additional run time. Do not leave the battery plugged into the charging cable after charging is complete (i.e. overnight or for long periods unattended).

    4. Remove the protective cover from the controller and store it in a safe place.

    5. To install the battery onto the controller, place the battery on the mount of the controller. While pressing the battery into the controller, close the latch to secure it to the controller (see Figure D).

PAIR THE TRANSFER NEO SYSTEM TO THE RIDE FOX BIKE APP

The Ride FOX Bike App is required to get the latest firmware updates and is strongly recommended. The seatpost can be setup and used with or without the App.

  1. Open the Ride FOX Bike App on your mobile device.
  2. Create your account.
  3. Follow the instructions to pair your controller to the App.
  4.  The App will now guide you through proper setup and pairing for your Transfer Neo system and help you monitor the battery life, update firmware, and actuate the seatpost when necessary.

PAIR THE REMOTE LEVER TO THE CONTROLLER

Use the Ride FOX Bike App to walk you through this procedure, or follow the steps below.

  1. Make sure the controller battery is charged and installed onto the controller.
  2. Press the pairing button on the remote lever. A green LED will begin flashing on the remote lever (see Figure E).
  3. Press the pairing button on the controller. A green LED will begin flashing on the controller (see Figure F).
  4. After a few seconds, the LEDs will turn solid green, indicating the controller and remote lever have located each other.
  5. Only after you see the LEDs turn solid green (not flashing), press the pairing button on the controller again to accept the pairing. A quick green LED flash on both the remote lever and controller, which will confirm a successful pairing.

IDENTIFY THE SEATPOST ORIENTATION

The Transfer Neo comes in two orientations in terms of the position of the controller battery relative to the front of the seatpost. The seatpost must be oriented properly for saddle installation and seatpost function. The front of the seatpost (labeled below) must be positioned toward the front of the bike. The controller position varies.
WARNING
The Transfer Neo seatposts are directional and proper orientation has the lower of the two upper post saddle clamp fastener locations facing forward. Failure to install the front of the seatpost in the correct orientation may result in a crash, SERIOUS INJURY and/or DEATH.

INSTALL THE REMOTE LEVER

The lever is powered by an installed CR2032 coin cell battery, which can be accessed by the slotted cover on the bottom side of the lever. Run time is about 8 months. There is a pairing button for initial setup with the controller and one multi-colored LED to indicate status information. The clamp is keyed to the lever, so there is only one way to mount it. Matchmaker and I-Spec clamps should be torqued to the manufacturer recommendations.
WARNING
Be sure to refer to the owner’s manual for your bicycle. FOX products should be installed by a qualified bicycle service technician, in accordance with FOX installation specifications. Improperly installed parts and components can fail, causing the rider to lose control, resulting in SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
