FOX digital Mini Micron Bite Alarm

Product Information: Mini Micron

The Mini Micron is a weatherproof bite alarm designed and developed in the UK. It features a Piezo speaker and has a robust 3/8 screw thread. The device has a volume knob, tone knob, sensitivity knob, and a power out socket for Fox Illuminated Bite Indicators. The LED intensity can be toggled between three different intensities. The device requires 2 x N/LR1 1.5V alkaline batteries for optimal performance. The Mini Micron has an Ingress Protection Rating of IPX5.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Turn off the Mini Micron before fitting or replacing batteries.
  2. Using a cross-head screwdriver, unscrew the two battery cover screws.
  3. Pull the tab upwards from the bottom of the battery cover.
  4. Carefully remove the old batteries and insert new batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. For best weatherproofing, ensure the battery cover has a good seal by firmly pushing the lip into the top edge of the case and pivoting it into position.
  6. Do not over-tighten the battery compartment screws as excessive force will damage the screw threads.
  7. Re-fit the cover and screws.
  8. Volume can be cycled incrementally by pressing the volume button and then releasing.
  9. Tone can be cycled incrementally by pressing the tone button and then releasing.
  10. Sensitivity can be cycled incrementally by pressing the sensitivity button and then releasing.
  11. The LED intensity can be toggled between three different intensities by holding down the volume button and pressing the tone button. Each time the tone button is pressed, the LED intensity will change.
  12. When the Mini Micron batteries are too low, the LED’s will automatically begin to flash red every 2 seconds. They will remain flashing red until new batteries are inserted into the alarm. Once new batteries have been placed into the Mini Micron, the LED’s will cease flashing and return to normal. No audible low battery warning is given by the Mini Micron.
  13. If the volume or LED performance noticeably decreases, change the batteries. Please ensure the batteries are removed from the Micron during long periods without use.
  14. After use in heavy rain, bring the unit indoors and remove the hard case cover to allow the device to dry out properly.

FITTING THE BATTERY

  1.  Turn off unit prior to fitting or replacing batteries.

  2. Using a cross head screwdriver unscrew the two battery cover screws.

  3.  Pull the tab upwards from the bottom of the battery cover.

  4.  Take care removing the batteries. Insert new batteries and ensure correct polarity.

  5.  For best weatherproofing, ensure battery cover has a good seal by firmly pushing lip into the top edge of the case and pivoting it into position.

  6. Re-fit cover and screws.

DO NOT over tighten the battery compartment screws, excessive force will damage the screw threads.

SWITCHING ON/OFF

  • Push down the toggle switch and release to activate the unit.
  • Push up and release the toggle switch in the top position to deactivate the unit. Please ensure the unit is switched off before attempting to fit the Mini Micron hardcase.
  •  Do not use excessive force when fitting the hardcase as this may result in damage to the alarm.

CONTROL

VOLUME CONTROL – X4 SETTINGS
Volume can be cycled incrementally by pressing the volume button and then releasing.

TONE CONTROL – X4 SETTINGS
Tone can be cycled incrementally by pressing the tone button and the releasing.

SENSITIVITY CONTROL – X2 SETTINGS
Sensitivity can be cycled incrementally by pressing the sensitivity button and then releasing.

CUSTOMISE LED BRIGHTNESS
The LED intensity can be toggled between three different intensities. Simply hold down the volume and press the tone button. Each time the tone button is pressed the LED intensity wil change.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

When the Mini Micron batteries are too low the LED’s will automatically begin to flash red every 2 seconds. They will remain flashing red until new batteries are inserted into the alarm. Once new batteries have been placed into the Mini Micron the LED’s will cease flashing and return to normal. No audible low battery warning is given by the Mini Micron.

SOCKET

Power Out Socket allows Fox Illuminated Bite Indicators to be powered directly from the Micron. The Illuminated Bite Indicator will then light up when the Micron is activated and latch for approximately 20 seconds.

BATTERY REQUIRMENTS

The Mini Micron heads require 2 x N/ LR1 1.5V Alkaline batteries. The use of good quality batteries is essential for maximum battery life. To reduce the risk of battery leakage:

  •  DO NOT mix old and new batteries
  •  DO NOT mix different battery types
  •  The use of rechargeable batteries is NOT recommended
  •  NEVER place batteries in a hot environment (e.g. on a radiator).

If the volume or LED performance noticeably decreases change the batteries. Please ensure the batteries are removed from the Micron during long periods without use.

DRYING OUT AFTER USE IN HEAVY RAIN

These Microns have been designed to be weatherproof. However, after use in heavy rain, it is important to allow the unit to dry out properly by bringing the unit indoors and removing the hard case cover.

WARNINGS

  • DO NOT trigger LED or speaker in close proximity to human or animal eyes and ears.
  • Store this equipment out of reach of children and infants.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the Micron to severe impacts.
  • Use only recommended batteries and accessories.
