INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Zoo Jamz Xylophone™! Little musicians can learn music notes and create their own songs with the friendly caterpillar. Tap the colorful light-up bars to hear music notes, then play interactive games or compose your own tunes.

WARNING: All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties and packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains important information.
Unlock the packaging locks:
- Rotate the packaging locks 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
- Pull out the packaging locks.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the panel.
- Use a screwdriver to open the cover.
- Install 2 new AA size (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new, alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
Note: If there is no response when the unit is switched on, please insert new batteries and try switching it on again.
BATTERY NOTICE
- Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
- Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
- Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) rechargeable, or new and used batteries.
- Do not use damaged batteries.
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

MODE/OFF SWITCH
Slide the MODE/OFF SWITCH to enter a mode. Slide the switch to OFF to turn the unit off. -
8 LIGHT-UP BARS
The eight light-up bars flash to the voice and music. -
MALLET WITH PULL CORD
Use the mallet to hit any bar to play. The mallet is attached to the caterpillar with a pull cord. Grab the mallet and pull the caterpillar with you for on-the-go fun. For your child’s safety, we suggest to supervise your child when playing with the pull cord. If your child is having trouble playing with the mallet while it’s attached to the xylophone, please untie the mallet from the cord. To reattach the mallet, slide the string through the mallet and tie it securely. -
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the unit will automatically power-off after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by hitting any bar. If the unit repeatedly powers down or has abnormal responses when the unit is switched on, please insert new batteries and try switching it on again.

MUSIC COMPOSER MODE
Use the mallet to hit the eight light-up bars to compose your own music. -
FOLLOW ME MODE
Listen to a music note, then tap the correct light-up bar with the attached mallet. When you’ve correctly repeated the music note, a new note will be added. Repeat the sequences to advance to new levels. -
LEARN TO PLAY MODE
Listen to the xylophone play a song, then follow the lights to play the song note by note. Tap the bar with the mallet when it lights up. Hit the correct notes to advance the song and move on to new levels.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
- If the product still does not work, replace it with a new set of batteries.
