Product Usage Instructions

  1. Understanding Hose Tiers:
The product line includes two tiers: Winner Standard and Weatherhead Premium. Winner Standard hoses offer standard performance at a competitive price, while Weatherhead Premium hoses are designed for more intense applications that require durability.

  2. Hose Types & Construction:
The hoses are available in braided and spiral constructions, each offering different levels of flexibility and strength based on the application’s pressure requirements.
    TUBE:

    • 1 WIRE: Suitable for standard pressure applications

    • 2 WIRE: Offers higher strength for medium/high-pressure applications

    • 4 SPIRAL: Provides increased rigidity and strength for high-pressure applications

    • 6 SPIRAL: Designed for extreme high-pressure situations

    • REINFORCEMENT:
The reinforcement gives the hose its strength. Braided hoses are flexible and suitable for medium/high pressure, while spiral hoses are stronger and work well in high-pressure applications.

    • COVER:
The cover protects the hose from weather, oil, and abrasion. Special covers like Dura-TuffTM and BruiserTM provide enhanced protection.

  3. Hose Assembly:
A hose assembly is created by combining the hose with fittings. Danfoss provides a Rubber Hydraulic MatchMateTM system for efficient assembly.

  4. Technical Support:
If you have any questions or issues regarding the product, Danfoss offers responsive technical support. Contact their experts for assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

2-tier selling

Premium & standard

Always consider the best product for the application. Understand the application requirements and customer needs. Some platforms will be able to utilize both premium and standard product.

  • Premium Tier: Exceed specifications with increased ratings for pressure, temperature, abrasion (8x) and impulse life, while meeting industry certifications for ISO, ABS, DNV, etc. Includes hoses specified for high temp (up to 302º F), low temp (as low as -70ºF) and high abrasion (up to 700x greater than standard hoses).
  • Standard Tier: Meet the standard specifications of SAE/EN for operating pressure, temperature, abrasion resistance, and impulse life. They do not exceed the specifications.

Hose types & construction Braided & spiral

  • TUBE: Conveys fluid. Danfoss has several specialty tubes including Dura-Pulse®, AQP/CPE elastomer tube and Nitrile
  • REINFORCEMENT: Gives hose its strength. Braided hose is flexible and is suited for medium/high pressure applications. Spiral hose is more rigid than braided, but stronger and works well in high pressure applications.
  • COVER: Protects the hose. Weather, oil and abrasion resistance. Danfoss specialty covers include Dura-Tuff™ and Bruiser™.
