Product Usage Instructions

Updating Firmware on C8 Controller

Stop the AHU by pressing the TURN OFF button on the control panel.
Locate the IP address of the ventilation unit on the control panel.
Connect the AHU to a computer or local computer network.
Open an Internet browser application on the computer and enter the AHU’s IP address found in step 2.
Enter the user name ‘user’, and password ‘user2’, and click Login.
Press the SETTINGS button.
In the INFORMATION section, verify the current firmware versions of the controller and control panel.
Download the updated file from the KOMFOVENT website using the provided links.
In the browser window, enter the AHU’s IP address followed by /g1.html.
If prompted, enter a username and password again.
Click Browse to specify the location of the update file on your computer.
Once the update file is selected, press Upload.

Connected Computer

C8 controller firmware can be updated when connected computer to the AHU. This can be done by connecting computer directly as well via a local computer network or the internet.

To update firmware on the C8 controller perform the following steps:

Stop AHU by pressing the TURN OFF button on the control panel.
On the control panel find the IP address of the ventilation unit.
Connect AHU to the computer or local computer network1.
On the computer start the Internet browser application and enter the IP addess that was found in the control panel.
Connect to the C8 user interface: enter user name user, password user2, and press the Login button.
More information about connecting AHU to a computer or network can be found in the Domekt user manual.
If the password was changed, please use the actual one.
Press the SETTINGS1 button.
In the INFORMATION section check the current firmware versions of the controller and control panel (firmware version is the last number; for example 1.3.17.20 means that version number is 20).
Download the updated file from the KOMFOVENT website, using the following links:
- Update file
In the internet browser application window enter the IP address of the AHU and add /g1.html.
If prompted enter user name and password again (see step 5).
When the screen loads click the Browse1 button and specify the location of the update file on your computer:
When the update file is selected, press the Upload button.
In the Status line „uploading“ will be displayed.
After 30–60 seconds the Status line will change to: The firmware uploaded successfully, the device is restarting. Panel firmware upload success: wait until finished”, if at the same time control panel firmware was updated
- Firmware uploaded successfully, device is restarting.”, if only the C8 controller was updated.
- Firmware upload error”, if the update was not successful (see step 21).
Wait for 1–2 minutes, until the controller updates the firmware and restart.
- If control panel firmware was updated, on the panel screen “Updating” will be displayed together with the status bar.
- Wait for 1–2 minutes, until the control panel firmware is updated and the main screen will return.
Check the new firmware version number in the internet browser (see steps 4-7) and if OK you can use the ventilation unit normally.
If firmware update has failed, please perform the following steps and try to update again:
- Make sure the correct update file was used (see steps 8 and 11)
- Turn OFF the main power for the AHU, wait for 1 minute, and turn the power ON
- Restart the computer that is used for updating
- Use different internet browser
- Connect the computer directly to the AHU (not through a network or Internet)
- If still firmware update is still not successful please contact the Komfovent service department.
