komfovent UVS60 М UVS Rectangular Fire Dampers
Product Information
Specifications:
- Product Name: TAISNSTRA UGUNDROSIE VRSTI (UVS) RECTANGULAR FIRE DAMPERS (UVS)
- Model: UVS60, UVS120
- Warranty: 2 years from the date of sale
Product Usage Instructions
Operating Principle: The fire dampers are manufactured in accordance with the EN 15650 standard and meet all the requirements for fire resistance. The casing is made of galvanized steel, complying with the DIN EN10142 standard. The blade of the damper is made of fire-resistant material. The temperature sensor is a one-time use and can be replaced after activation. The inside of the casing is surrounded by an expanding gasket that seals the fire damper completely in case of a fire.
Design: The rectangular fire dampers are designed to be installed in walls or ceilings. They come with folding mounting brackets for easy installation. The dimensions of the damper vary depending on the model. The casing is made of galvanized steel, and the blade is made of fire-resistant material. The damper also includes an electrical actuator with a spring, an expanding gasket, a thermal bridge, and a blade axis. Some models also include a temperature sensor.
Installation:
To install the rectangular fire damper, follow these steps:
- Prepare the installation area by ensuring it meets the required dimensions.
- Attach the folding mounting brackets to the damper using screws.
- Place the damper in the desired location and secure it using mortar.
- Connect the electrical actuator to the appropriate power source using the provided connection cables.
- Ensure that the temperature sensor (if included) is properly connected.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Fire dampers are designed to close apertures in ventilation system to block expansion of combustion products in premises. Damper blade is open when premises are ventilated. It is opened by supplying voltage to the damper actuator. In the course of combustion, when air temperature in the duct exceeds 70°C, temperature sensor of the actuator disconnects supply voltage and spring in the actuator closes the damper. Special gasket around the blade edges expands fully sealing the aperture. Actuator can get closing signal also from the building fire protection system.
DESIGN
- Fire dampers are manufactured in accordance with EN 15650 standard and meets all the requirements.
- The casing is made from galvanized sheet steel DIN EN10142.
- The damper blade is made from a special fire-resistant material.
- Temperature sensor is single use only – it must be replaced after tripping.
- On the inner surface of the fire damper it is placed a special gasket, which expands at the time of fire and seals the fire damper completely.

INSTALATION
- Rectangular fire damper may be installed in rigid construction in horizontal or vertical position (concrete, aerated blocks, bricks).
- Minimum thickness of the wall – 115 mm, ceiling – 150 mm. Recommended cut-out hole dimensions H+60 x B+60 mm. The free space is filled with gypsum, concrete or any other mortar used in construction practice.
- Fire dampers must be installed at least 75 mm from walls, ceiling or partitions and at least 200 mm from other dampers or ducts.
Installation steps
- Cut-out is made in the wall or ceiling 60 mm larger than damper dimensions
- Damper mounting brackets are unfolded and damper is inserted in to the cut-out in a way that brackets are touching the wall/ceiling. Axis of the damper blade must be in horizontal position.
- Damper mounting brackets are fixed to the wall/ceiling.
- Gap around dampers is sealed with mortar.
- Fire ducts are connected and insulated with insulating rubber according to Fire safety regulations.
- Actuator power supply and limit switch cables are connected.

WARNING!
- Installation of fire dampers and ducts must be handled strictly according to local Fire safety regulations and applicable legislation.
- Fire resistance of the ducts can be different, when used in separate building constructions.
- Duct system components must have its own holding brackets and must be mounted in a way; thus, its weight will not be transferred to the construction of the fire damper.
- Before installation of fire damper, the freedom of blade movement shall be checked and if necessary, rotation axes should be lubricated as shown. Upon completion of installation of the fire damper, check free rotation of the blade and free access to the opening mechanism and fuse for preventive check or replacement.
