5. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Press and hold the button (2) on the device to switch on the device.
To increase or decrease the volume, use the rotary knob

The radio can be controlled via a smartphone or tablet and the corresponding app. All relevant functions of the radio can thus be controlled conveniently using a mobile device. The AIR Music Control app can be downloaded for Android and Apple iOS. Further information on the app can be found in chapter 8.7.

6. INSTALLATION
6.1. Network connection
The device must be connected to a network in order to use the radio’s Internet
function. To do this, the connection must be established using the built-in
2.4 GHz Wi-Fi module.
6.2. Language selection
Plug in the device. The radio turns on.

You can select the menu language using the rotary knob. Confirm the selected language by pressing the rotary knob.
6.3 Network Check
Confirm the various menu prompts with Yes. With this setting, the radio
performs a check for available Wi-Fi networks every time it is turned on.
6.4 Network Configuration
To connect the radio to your network, confirm the following request with Yes.

6.4.1 Network selection
All available Wi-Fi networks are displayed. Choose the network to which you
want to connect the radio and confirm your choice with the ENTER button. Enter
the Wi-Fi key. Use the rotary knob to select a character, and the button to
move to the next one. F Confirm the entry by pressing the rotary knob. Please
note that the connection procedure to the router may take some time.

You can access the main menu of the device by pressing the menu button on the
device. After 10 seconds, the menu automatically switches to the last set
radio station. The main menu of the device consists of the following menu

7.1. Settings
Press the MENU button and select the Settings menu item using the F rotary knob. Confirm the selection by pressing the rotary knob. You can adjust the brightness of the device using this menu item.
7.1.1. Network
The network to which the radio is connected must have the following
characteristics so that the device can function as an Internet radio: The
network router must have a DHCP server function so that an automatic IP
address can be assigned to the device. The UPnP function must be activated in
the network router in order to be able to transmit media content as well as to
be able to recognize devices in the network. The radio can be connected to the
network without any problems if the router meets these requirements.

Settings menu item. Confirm the selection by pressing the rotary knob.

7.1.1.1. Setting the radio network
This menu item allows you to activate or deactivate the Wi-Fi function if you
want to connect your radio to a Wi-Fi radio network. If you activate this
function, you can make all additional settings here to connect the radio to
the radio network. Using the rotary knob, select the radio network setting
menu item and press the rotary knob. Activate or deactivate a network

mediate a Wi-Fi network by selecting the corresponding menu item. Confirm the
selection by pressing the rotary knob. Once the radio network is activated,
the device searches for all Wi-Fi networks in the vicinity and displays them
in a list. Select the network you wish to connect to using the rotary knob.
Enter the Wi-Fi key. Use the rotary knob to select a character, and use the
key to move to the next one. Confirm the entry by pressing the rotary knob.
Please note that the connection procedure may take some time.
7.1.1.2. Radio network (WPS PBC)
WPS is a function of Wi-Fi devices that allows a network connection to be
established at the touch of a button without having to enter a password. This
makes it easier to establish a connection. This push-button configuration
supported by the radio can be used if the network router with which a
connection is to be established is equipped with a WPS button. (This function
may also appear as a software solution directly in the operating system in the
case of some routers). To establish a network connection in this way,

please proceed as follows. Using the rotary knob, select the radio network
menu item (WPS PBC) and press the rotary knob to confirm the entry.

7.1.1.3. Manual configuration
You can configure the radio network yourself
in this section so that it matches the
network settings.
This function should only be performed by
users with experience in this field.

7.1.1.3.1 DHCP
The DHCP protocol allows connected Clients to be integrated into an existing
network without the need to manually configure the network interface. The
necessary information such as IP address, network mask, gateway and DNS
protocol are automatically assigned. The DNS function is activated at the
factory. The information required for a network connection must be set
manually if the DHCP function is deactivated. This menu item allows you to
deactivate the DHCP functions. Use the rotary knob to select the Manual
configuration menu item and confirm by pressing the rotary knob. Activate or
deactivate the DHCP function in the next step.
7.1.1.4 Entering the SSID
You can determine the SSID here if you have configured-
re-set the network settings manually.
The Service Set Identifier (SSID) allows you to choose the

name of a Wi-Fi device and communicate with it. It
is also called Network (Radio) Name of the network
Wi-Fi.
The factory-set radio name with which the device is
reil is visible in a Wi-Fi network is Imperial i105.
You can determine a new name here.

USB. Please note that if you choose Internet radio, at least one favourite
station must be stored. The message Empty appears if no radio station is
stored. Confirm the entry by pressing the rotary knob. The arrow key must be
used to return to the menu. Please also read chapter 8.2.1 on storing a radio
station. To stop an alarm, press the STANDBY or button on the device.

To activate the Snooze function, press the rotary button while the alarm is
sounding. The alarm will stop for 5 minutes. It will reactivate after 5
minutes.
7.1.3.1. Alarm clock snooze function
You can set a time after which the F alarm clock will sound.
You can activate this function and determine a duration in this menu. Using
the rotary knob, select the Alarm clock menu item in the Settings menu and
press the rotary knob to confirm the entry. Select the Snooze – Alarm clock
line and confirm the entry. Deactivate this function using the Deactivate line
or set a time after which the alarm should be activated. The following
durations are available: 5 minutes: The alarm will sound after 5 minutes 10
minutes: The alarm will sound after 10 minutes 20 minutes: The alarm will
sound after 20 minutes 30 minutes: The alarm will sound after 30 minutes

7.1.3.2. Alarm volume
Set the volume of the alarm signal in menu item F Alarm volume. Using the
rotary knob, select the Alarm menu item in the Settings menu and press the
rotary knob to confirm the entry. Select the Alarm volume line and confirm by
pressing the rotary knob. Set the desired volume.
7.1.4. Language
You can set the menu language here. Using the rotary knob, select the Language
menu item in the Settings menu and confirm by pressing the rotary knob.

The Dimmer function allows you to adjust the brightness of the display. The device is supplied with the highest brightness level set at the factory. You can adjust the brightness individually using this menu item. Using the rotary knob, select the Alarm clock menu item in the Settings menu and press the rotary knob to confirm your entry. > Energy-saving mode: When energy-saving mode is activated, the brightness of the display is adjusted to the set level if no operation is carried out on the device within 15 seconds. Select the Energy-saving mode line and confirm your selection. Then select the desired brightness level for this mode using the rotary knob

The device switches off automatically using this function after a preset time.

function or select a preset time. You can choose between the following times:
15, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 minutes. Confirm by pressing the rotary knob.

Weather information can be displayed on the screen if the device is connected
to the Internet.

radio mode, you can search for radio stations in your area specifically in the
device menu. To do this, the device must know your location. You can enter
your location manually or activate automatic location selection.

F With this information, the radio can offer you radio stations via the Local stations function. Please also read chapter 8.1. Using the rotary knob, select the Local station setting menu item in the Settings menu and press the rotary knob to confirm the entry. The following options are available: > Automatic recognition The radio automatically recognises your location if it is connected to the Internet. > Manual setting (country)/(province)/(city) This setting allows you to enter your location manually. You can limit the location to a country and increase the accuracy to the province level. The highest accuracy location can be achieved by manually setting (city). Confirm the entry by pressing the rotary knob.

Rename You can change the name of the device that is displayed as My Media U Application. Use the rotary knob to select the letters you want to use and confirm each entry by pressing the rotary knob.
AirMusic Control Application This function displays a QR code on the screen. You can access the AirMusic Control application download by scanning this QR code using a smartphone or tablet. Further information on the application can be found in chapter 8.7.

7.1.11 Menu
You can add the Sleep Radio function to the main menu. Further information on
the Sleep Radio function can be found in chapter 8.2.3. Using the rotary knob,
select the Menu menu item in the Settings menu and press the rotary knob to
confirm the entry. Here, select the Sleep Radio item and confirm by pressing F
on the rotary knob. The Sleep Radio item has now been added to the main menu.
7.1.12. Software update
An update of the operating software may be necessary to improve the functions
of the device. The operating software update of your radio, which can be
downloaded if necessary from www. telestar.de, can be carried out via the USB
interface. The software available on the website must be unzipped. Save the
unzipped file to a storage medium and then connect it to the radio via the USB
port. A description of the detailed procedure is enclosed with the download
file.

7.1.13. Restore default settings You can restore all settings you have made on
the radio to the original state using the default setting. This is useful if
you have made changes that could result in suboptimal operation of the device.
Using the rotary control, select the Restore default settings menu item in the
F Settings menu and press the rotary control to confirm your entry. Select Yes
if you want to reset the device, or No if you want to cancel the operation. If
you activate this function, all menu settings you have made and all saved
stations will be deleted.

The radio stations you added using the
menu item
Local station setting (chapter 7.1.8) is displayed under
the Local Station point. Press the MENU button on the device and select Local Station using the

rotary button.
A choice of different internet radio stations is
offered according to the regions under this menu item, which
makes it easier to find them.
Select a list of programs under this point
menu.
Confirm the entry by pressing the
rotary button.
8.2. Internet Radio
Press the MENU button on the device and select Internet Radio using the rotary knob. Confirm your settings by pressing the rotary knob. You can select and manage all Internet stations in the Internet Radio menu. A wide selection of

This menu allows you to select one of the favorite radio stations that you
have stored using the preset station buttons.
8.2.2. Radio station / Music

20 radio stations in the world > Radio stations sorted by genre > Radio
stations sorted by country and region > Recommended radio stations.

You can access additional information from the radio station configured for
listening, provided that the radio station broadcasts additional information
during its operation in Internet radio mode. This additional information can

The LOCAL RADIO button allows you to access the preset local stations in your

8.7. Air Music Control ® The radio can be controlled via a smartphone or
tablet and the corresponding app. All relevant functions of the radio can thus
be controlled conveniently using a mobile device. The AIR Music Control app
can be downloaded for Android and Apple iOS.

6. INSTALLATION
6.1. Network connection
