iTero™ Design Suite installation guide
iTero Design Suite offers a simple way to start in-house 3D printing of models, appliances, and restorations. It is designed to transform the power of exocad into simple, intuitive, doctor- and staff-friendly design applications to help doctors elevate the patient experience and reduce operational costs.
Scan
- Create the Rx, scan the patient, and send the case.
- Click the iTero™ Design Suite button from the MyiTero™ portal.
Design
- Once the iTero™ Design Suite app opens, you can create models, design, or print with a minimum of clicks.
- Print the model or prosthetic using exoprint integration with multiple 3D printers.
Important Information
Minimum technical requirements:
- Windows operating system: Windows 10 (21H2 – 22H2), Windows 11 (21H2)
- Minimum hardware configuration to run exocad DentalCAD
CPU: Quad-Core and 2.8 Ghz RAM: 4GB
Minimum screen resolution: 1080p (1920×1080), if a DPI setting of 100% is
used. If you use a higher DPI setting, a higher resolution is required.
How to install
How to install iTero Design Suite
Note: This is a one-time installation process. Once the application is installed, simply click the iTero Design Suite button (in the MyiTero portal) to be redirected and start designing.
- Log in to the MyiTero™ portal and click the Orders/ Patient tab.
- On the Order/Patient page:
- Select the order from the Past Orders/Patient.
- Select iTero Design Suite.
First time installation – iTero Design Suite
- Select Download and install in the popup window that appears.
First time installation – install and update tool to update the software
- A 226 MB file is downloaded to your computer and saved in a folder of your choice. You need to activate it manually.
- Click the downloaded file and select the default language and then click OK.
- The Install and Update tool window appears. Click Next and follow the installation instructions to install the iTero Design Suite on your computer.
- Scroll down and agree to the Terms and conditions. Acknowledge the Privacy notice and click Accept.
- Log in with the email and password you used for the log in.
- Scroll down and agree to EULA, and click Accept. The iTero Design Suite will be downloaded.
First time installation
- Click Install to install the iTero Design Suite (1.6 GB).
- Once the download is completed, click on the installed tab to see the iTero™ Design Suite installed.
- Log in the MyiTero portal. Under the Orders tab:
- Select the order.
- Select iTero™ Design Suite.
First time installation – open the iTero™ Design Suite
- Click Open iTero Design Suite in the popup message.
- The iTero Design Suite app is launched.

The navigation window is opened
- Select Edit order details to view or edit the indication of the teeth or the prescription created in the iTero Rx form.
- Select the Design button to design restoration prothesis or splints.
- Select the Create Model button to design a model.
- Select the Print button to send the restoration/model to the 3D printer.
- Select the Open in folder button to view the project files.
