Do not work with the machine in rain, thunderstorms and especially not when there is a risk of lightning.
Exhaust fumes:
Danger to life from poisoning! If you experience nausea, headaches, visual impairment (e.g. narrowing field of vision), hearing impairment, dizziness, or reduced ability to concentrate, stop work immediately. These symptoms can be caused by excessive exhaust gas concentrations, among other things.
The machine produces toxic exhaust fumes as soon as the combustion engine is running. These gases contain poisonous carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas, as well as other pollutants. The

The combustion engine must never be started in enclosed or poorly ventilated rooms.
The exhaust fumes from the combustion engine are released into the open air in front of the left rear wheel. When working with the machine, ensure that this area is always kept clean and never covered so that the exhaust fumes do not build up.
Starting:
The machine may only be started from the driver’s seat.
Start the machine on a level surface, not on a slope.
The combustion engine may only be started in a well-ventilated work area; adequate ventilation must be ensured, particularly in garages.
Before starting the combustion engine, disengage the cutting tool, attachments and drive and press the brake pedal firmly.
When starting, ensure that there is sufficient distance between your feet and the cutting tool.
Never start the combustion engine by short-circuiting the starter terminal. If the normal starter circuit is bypassed, the ride-on mower can suddenly start moving.

Work use:
Warning risk of injury!
Pay attention to the working area of the mower blade. Never put your hands or feet on or under rotating parts. Never touch the rotating mower blade. Always keep away from the discharge opening. Always maintain a sufficient safety distance.
Only work in daylight or with good artificial lighting.
When driving away from the lawn or when not mowing, the mower blade must be disengaged and the mower set to the highest cutting position.
Objects hidden in the turf (lawn sprinklers, posts, water valves, foundations, electrical cables, etc.) must be avoided. Never drive over such foreign objects.
When working with additional attachments, the mower and the discharge chute should be dismantled. Observe the operating instructions for the attachments.
When driving, the steering wheel should always be held firmly with both hands. Particular caution is required when driving on lawns and other uneven surfaces, as the steering wheel can twist by itself due to holes, hills, bumps, etc. Risk of injury to hands and fingers!

If a defect is discovered in the tank, tank cap or fuel-carrying parts (fuel lines) during operation, the combustion engine must be switched off immediately. Then contact a specialist dealer. STIHL recommends a STIHL specialist dealer.
Watch for depressions (holes) in the terrain and other invisible hazards. Obstacles can easily be overlooked in tall grass.
Always drive at an appropriate speed.
Use the machine with particular caution when working near slopes, rubbish dumps, edges, ditches and dykes. In particular, ensure that you keep a sufficient distance from such hazards.
Particular caution is required in areas with poor visibility, bushes, trees and other obstacles behind which people, especially children, or animals may be hidden.
Stop the ride-on mower immediately and switch off the mowing blades if anyone enters the mowing area.
Always keep an eye on the area in front of the vehicle. Watch for obstacles so that you can avoid them in good time.
Before reversing, check the area behind the ride-on mower and disengage the attachment if fitted. Never mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary. Be particularly careful when reversing and check the entire area behind the ride- on mower thoroughly before starting to mow

When working in a group, always tell others in good time what you intend to do. Observe a safe distance!
Before changing direction, reduce the driving speed so that the user always has control of the machine and the ride-on mower cannot tip over.
When operating near roads and crossing traffic routes, watch out for other road users.
Particular caution is required when mowing near roads, cycle paths and footpaths. Thrown debris can cause serious injury and damage.
Only empty the grass catcher from the driver’s seat.
Before emptying the grass catcher, always disengage the mower blade and wait until it has come to a standstill.
If the ride-on mower is operated with attachments, always follow the instructions and safety regulations supplied with the attachments.
Switch off the drive, turn off the combustion engine and wait until the mowing blade has come to a complete stop, engage the parking brake and remove the ignition key:

if the mowing blade has struck a foreign object. Check for damage to the machine and cutting tool and have the necessary repairs carried out before starting again
if the device starts to vibrate unusually strongly. An immediate inspection is required.
when leaving or transporting the device.
Turn off the combustion engine and wait until the mowing blade has come to a complete stop: before filling with fuel, before removing the grass catcher. Working on slopes: Slopes are one of the main causes of accidents in which control of the ride-on mower is lost and the device tips over, which can cause serious or even fatal injuries. There is no such thing as a “safe” slope. Driving on grassy slopes requires special attention. For safety reasons, the device must not be used on slopes with a gradient of more than 10° (17.6%). Risk of injury! 10° slope corresponds to a vertical rise of 17.6 cm over a horizontal length of 100 cm.

To ensure adequate lubrication of the combustion engine, the information in the combustion engine operating instructions supplied must also be observed when using the machine on slopes.
If you cannot reverse up the slope or if you have any doubts about safety, do not drive on this surface.
Avoid starting or stopping on a slope.
Do not use the machine on areas such as slopes or ditches where it could tip over or slide. The risk of tipping over or sliding increases if the ground is loose or wet.
Slopes must be driven lengthways. There is an increased risk of tipping when driving across slopes. When
driving on slopes, do not make any sudden changes in speed or direction. Working in such situations requires careful, calm and consistent operation of the ride-on mower.
Changes of direction on slopes must be avoided. Only turn on slopes if this is unavoidable; if possible, drive slowly and in a wide arc in a downward direction.
Do not mow wet grass, especially on slopes, as wet grass reduces traction. The ride-on mower could slip and therefore be uncontrollable for the operator.

When driving on slopes, the transmission must not be unlocked using the transmission freewheel.
Particular caution must be exercised when operating attachments on slopes (changed weight distribution on the machine).
If the wheels spin or if the vehicle gets stuck when driving uphill on a slope, disengage the mowing blade or attachment. Then drive slowly downhill and in a straight line.
Never try to stabilize the ride-on mower by supporting it with your foot on the ground.
The weight of the grass catcher increases the risk of tipping over, especially when it is full.
Never empty or lift the grass catcher on an inclined surface.
Towing loads:
Particular caution must be exercised when towing loads to avoid the risk of serious or even fatal injuries if the ride-on mower tips over.
Only use accessories approved by STIHL to transport objects. Transport on the ride-on mower, in or on the grass catcher is not permitted.
Only use the trailer hitch to tow loads. Loads must never be attached to the axle housing or anywhere else above the trailer coupling.
Information on towing load and support load can be found in the “Towing loads” chapter. (Ö 12.11)

Exceeding the specified loads is dangerous and can cause damage to the device (combustion engine, transmission, etc.).
When transporting on slopes, loads must be adjusted so that the ride-on mower can always be handled safely (e.g. braking, changing direction, starting).
Check that the loads have been properly and securely fastened. Use tensioning belts to secure loads. Ensure that the
load is evenly distributed.
Use appropriate additional weights (accessories) if this is described in the operating instructions for the attachment.
Do not drive around tight corners. Be particularly careful when reversing.
Do not make any sudden changes in speed or direction.
Stopping and parking:
The ride-on mower should only be parked on a level surface.
Make sure that the ride-on mower has come to a complete stop before you get off.
Pay attention to the trailing edge of the cutting tool, which takes a few seconds to come to a stop.
Before leaving the driver’s seat, disengage the mower blade or the drive to the attachments, lower the mower and all attachments, move all control levers to their neutral positions.

Apply the parking brake, switch off the combustion engine and remove the ignition key.
Store the ignition key in such a way that only authorized persons have access.
4.8 Maintenance and repairs
Before starting any cleaning, adjustment, repair or maintenance work, park the machine on firm, level ground, apply the parking brake, switch off the combustion engine and allow it to cool down and remove the ignition key.
Allow the machine to cool down before working on the combustion engine, exhaust manifold and muffler – this particularly applies to any maintenance work on the mower. Temperatures of 80° C and more can be reached. Danger of burns!
Direct contact with engine oil can be dangerous and engine oil must not be spilled. STIHL recommends that you leave the filling of engine oil or an engine oil change to your STIHL dealer.
Cleaning:
After use, the entire ride-on mower and attachments must be cleaned. In particular, all grass residues must be removed because the moisture contained in grass residues will cause damage over time.
STIHL recommends not using a high-pressure cleaner. (Ö 14.2)

Dismantle the mower for cleaning. Never clean the mower with a water jet (e.g. garden hose) or by engaging the clutch in puddles of water.
Never drive close to an edge or ditch when cleaning (e.g. on the frame of the ride-on mower).
To avoid the risk of fire, keep the combustion engine, cooling fins, battery compartment, the area around the tank and exhaust free of grass, leaves or escaping oil (grease).
Always clean the grass catcher.
Maintenance work:
Only carry out maintenance work that is described in this instruction manual; all other work may be carried out by a specialist dealer. If you do not have the necessary knowledge and tools, always contact a specialist dealer. STIHL recommends that maintenance work and repairs are only carried out by a STIHL specialist dealer.
