Kit installation
Refer to Figures 1 & 2
- Open two of the hoods/covers of the mower.
- Mount the center bracket (LANRK415) to the exposed frame as shown. Use the provided 3/8” hardware and the LANRK418 spacers.
- Leave the fasteners slightly loose for adjustment later.
Refer to Figures 3 & 4
- On each end of the mower, remove the shown carriage bolts from the frame and canvas. Keep the washers and nuts.
- Mount the side brackets (LANRK416 & 417) on the sides so the flanges stick out. Use (4) 5/16” x 1” carriage bolts and the saved washers & nuts for each side. Tighten well.
FOR NH 316+ & CIH 165 Models: Switch the side brackets so the flanges go OVER the machine.
Refer to Figures 5—7
- In the narrower space, set one of the bars (LANARK 419) in the center and side brackets. The end with the bushing goes in the center mount.
- Fasten the bar and center mount together with a 1/2” x 3” bolt, (2) washers and a top lock nut.
- Do not fully tighten as this functions as a hinge for accessibility.
- Adjust the center bracket side to side so the end mount and bar lines up. Insert a twist lock pin (LANSS704).
Refer to Figures 8—10
- Slide the extension (LANRK442) into the end of the second bar.
- Join them with (4) 5/16” x 3/4” carriage bolts and serrated flange nuts – tighten.
- Install this new, longer bar in the same way as the other.
- When both LANSS704 pin are installed, tighten the center mount hardware completely.
If the bar ends and side brackets do not line up, if may be necessary to shim the backets with washers
Refer to Figures 11—13
- Attach the rubber curtain; starting at one end insert a 5/16” x 3/4” carriage bolt through the curtain & bar and secure with a flange nut.
- Proceed to the other end adding a bolt and nut every 3rd or 4th hole, then go back and insert all the others.
- Where the main bar and the extension overlap, use (2) 5/16” x 1” carriage bolts to secure the curtain.
Note: A punch maybe be necessary to stretch and align the curtain with the bars.

To access the cutter, remove the twist lock pin and swing the curtain outward.
