Kit Installation:

Step 1:
Join the two bars (LANRK439) together with the splice bar (LANRK411), using 4 5/16 carriage bolts and flange lock nuts. Make sure not to insert the bolts in the holes that hold the curtain. -
Step 2:
Install the main brackets (LANRK412) on top of the canvas and its frame. The brackets should extend a minimum of 4 past the front (6-8 preferred) with a pair of 3/8 holes hanging over. -
Step 3:
Ensure the edges of the brackets are aligned before drilling. Depending on your mower framework:- If your mower has round tubes, use the provided 5/16 U-Bolts and washers. Pierce holes through the canvas and slide them through.
- If your mower has flat sheet metal, clamp the brackets in place and drill through the frame and canvas with an 11/32 bit. Secure with 5/16 hex bolts, washers, and flange nuts.

Step 4:
If your mower has a rounded/beveled outer corner, use the longer bracket (LANRK413) to bridge the gap. Clamp in place and drill through the frame and canvas with an 11/32 bit. Secure with 5/16 hex bolts, washers, and flange nuts. -
Step 5:
Clamp the assembled bar to the mount brackets. -
Step 6:
Check the clearance between the rear tire and curtain bar by aising the mower to the fully upright position. -
Step 7:
Drill the 3/8 holes through the curtain bar and fasten.

Can I use this Rock Block Kit on other types of mowers?

Kit Installation

- Install the main brackets (LANRK412) on top of the canvas and its frame. The brackets need to extend a minimum of 4” past the front (6”-8” preferred) and the pair of 3/8” holes hang over.

- If your mower framework is round tubes, use the provided 5/16” U-Bolts and washers. Pierce holes through the canvas and slide them through. Leave hand-tight.
- If your mower framework is flat sheet metal, clamp them in place and drill through the frame and canvas with an 11/32” bit. Secure with 5/16” hex bolts, washers and flange nuts. Leave hand-tight.

- If needed, 3/8” thread-cutting bolts (LAN1818A) are provided. (Use 11/32” bit)
- Clamp the assembled bar to the mount brackets.
- Check the clearance between the rear tire and curtain bar by raising the mower to the fully upright position.
- Drill the 3/8” holes through the curtain bar and fasten with 3/8” hardware.
- Tighten all hardware.

Attach the rubber curtain; starting at one end insert a 5/16” carriage bolt through the curtain & bar and secure with a flange nut.

Proceed to the other end adding a bolt and nut every 3rd or 4th hole, then go back and insert all the others.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. When the head starts to indent the curtain, it’s tight enough. -
Lower the mower to running position.

If needed, shorten the curtain with a utility knife and straight edge. Ideal length is between ground level and 1” off of it.
