SAFETY & WARNINGS

Ensure to read all instructions and warnings in this user guide prior to first use. Retain this user guide for future reference.

  • This camera is a high-precision product. Do not drop or hit the camera.
  • Do not place the camera near objects with strong magnetic fields (for example, magnets and motors). Strong magnetic fields may cause camera failure or damage images and sounds.
  • Avoid placing the camera near objects that emit strong radio waves.
  • Ensure the micro memory card (not supplied) used is equal or above U3 speed with 16GB to 256GB storage. Micro memory cards that are not Class 10 may not be compatible with this camera.
  • Do not store micro memory cards in or near a strong magnet to avoid losing the stored data.
  • If there is overheating, smoke, or odour when charging, unplug the magnetic charging cable immediately and stop charging to avoid fires.
  • Keep the camera out of reach of children when charging. This is because the magnetic charging cable may cause accidental suffocation and electric shock.

Storage
Place the camera in a cool, dry, dust-free area.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Micro memory card
A micro memory card (not supplied) is required to record or take videos/photos. Ensure the micro memory card used is between 16-128GB and at least class 10. The micro memory card must also be formatted. To install the micro memory card:

  1. Slide then open the battery cover.
  2. Insert the micro memory card with the chip side facing down as shown.
  3. Close the battery cover.

Battery
Insert the battery into the battery slot next to the micro memory card. If the battery needs to be taken out, pull on the tab of the battery. It is recommended to remove the battery if the camera will not be used for an extended period.

Configurations
Using the accessories included, the camera can be customized to your recording needs.
Below are examples of possible configurations.

OPERATION

Powering
Press and hold the mode button for 2-3 seconds to turn the camera on, The 2” screen will then switch on and a green light indicator will appear to confirm the camera is turned on (the indicator light of1.3″screen will appear blue color). Press and hold the mode button for 2-3 seconds again to turn the camera off.

Modes
This camera features three modes (Photo, Video, Menu). To switch between the modes, press the mode button.

Photo
Tap on the centre bottom of the screen to view the photo modes menu, then tap on the desired mode to confirm your selection. The relevant photo mode icon will then be displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

Name Description
Single Takes a single photo. Photo resolution can be adjusted in the menu

settings to either 2, 5, 8, 10, 14, 16 or 20 megapixels.

Press the OK button to take a photo.

Burst| Takes a continuous burst of photos when the OK button is pressed. This can be set to either 3, 7, 15, or 30 images. A green light will also be flashing when taking burst photos.

Note : The camera needs a longer period of time to store photos when using this mode and it cannot take other photos until they are stored.

P-Timelapse| Takes a photo after every interval a user has selected. This may be useful when you wish to take photos of an area over longer periods.

The interval can be set to either 3, 5,10, 30, or 60 seconds.

Once this mode is activated, press the OK button to begin the timelapse. The camera will then begin taking photos at the set interval. Press the OK button again to stop the timelapse.

Self-Time| Takes a photo after a user-specified period.

The timer can be set to either 2, 5, or 10 seconds

Once this mode is activated, press the OK button to begin the timer.

The photo will then be taken after the timer lapses.

LongExp| Takes a photo using a long exposure time. This can create a blurred effect on moving objects.

The exposure time can be set to either 1, 2, 5, 8, 30, or 60 seconds.

Wi-Fi Tap this icon to turn the Wi-Fi function on

Video

Tap on the centre bottom of the screen to view the video modes menu, then tap on the desired mode to confirm your selection. The relevant video mode icon will then be displayed in the top left corner of the screen.

Note This camera uses a fixed focus wide-angle lens. The shortest effective shooting distance of a fixed focal length lens is 30cm, if the subject is less than this distance, the footage will be out of focus.

Normal When selected, press the OK button to start and stop recording.
Loop Record This allows continuous recording of footage which is broken into

1, 3 or 5 minute files as chosen by the user.

When the micro memory card is full, the camera will continue recording by overwriting the oldest file.

When  this  mode  is  activated, press the OK button to start loop recording

V-Timelapse| This allows users to record a video timelapse at 30 frames per second (fps).

The recording duration of the timelapse can be set to either 5, 10, 15.20, 30, 60 minutes, or be set to unlimited (recording until the micro memory card is full or stopped).

The timelapse parameter can be set to either 1, 3, 5, 10, 30 seconds, or 1 minute.

Press the OK button to start the timelapse.

Slow Motion| This allows users to record slow-motion footage.

When this mode is activated, press the OK button to start recording.

Fast Motion| This allows users to record fast-motion footage.

In the fast motion video menu, you can set the factor of how much the footage is sped up by (x2, x4, x6,x10, x15).

Wi-Fi| Tap this icon to turn the Wi-Fi function on.

Photo and video mode shortcuts

  • When in either photo or video mode, press the down button to turn Wi-Fi on/off.
  • When in either photo or video mode, press and hold the down button to switch between the 2” and 1.3” screens.

Menu
In the menu, there are three options (Playback, Video Setup, Photo Setup). Press the up and down buttons to switch between the three options, then press the OK button to confirm which menu you wish to access.

Playback

This allows you to view the photos and videos taken on the camera.

the video gallery. All videos recorded on the camera can be viewed here.

Use the up and down buttons to browse through videos, then press the OK button to play/pause the selected video.

2| Photo Gallery| Press the up and down buttons to highlight the icon, then press the Mode button to enter the photo gallery. All photos taken on the camera can be viewed here.

Use the up and down buttons to browse through photos, then press the OK button to view the selected photo in full-screen.

3| Delete| Used to delete photos or videos

1.  Press the up and down buttons to highlight the icon, then press the OK button.

2.  Press the mode button to enter the chosen gallery you wish to delete photos or videos from.

3.  Press the up and down buttons to browse through the photos and videos, then press the OK button to select the ones you wish to delete.

Note: There is also an option to delete all photos or videos.

4.  Press the mode button, followed by the OK button to confirm the deletion.

4| Exit| Press the up and down buttons to highlight the icon, then press the OK button to exit the playback menu.

Video setup
This menu features various settings for video recording.

  1. Press the up and down buttons to browse through the settings, then press the OK button to select the setting you wish to change.
  2. Press the up and down buttons again to browse through the setting options, then press the OK button to confirm.

Note : For optimised video output, shooting at 4K / 30 fps is recommended.

Photo setup
This menu features various settings for photos.

  1. Press the up and down buttons to browse through the settings, then press the OK button to select the setting you wish to change.
  2. Press the up and down buttons again to browse through the setting options, then press the OK button to confirm.

Wi-Fi function
This camera has a Wi-Fi function which allows it to be connected to the “iSmart DV2” app. This allows you to use the camera controls on your phone or tablet. Ensure the camera is in photo mode prior to connecting to the Wi-Fi.

  1. Search “iSmart DV2” on the Google Play Store or App Store. Download and install the app(App connectivity will perform best outdoors).

  2. Ensure the camera is using the photo or video mode, then press the down button to turn on the camera’s Wi-Fi.
    Alternatively, tap on the centre bottom of the screen to open the photo or video mode menu and tap on the Wi-Fi icon to turn on the Wi-Fi function.

  3. Ensure your phone or tablet has Wi-Fi turned on. Open the “iSmart DV2” app, then tap on “Add New Camera”.

  4. Tap on“Choose camera Wi-Fi and connect”.

  5. Tap and connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi network. This will be shown on the camera’s display and should be “Action camera” When prompted, type in the password: “12345678”. Your phone or tablet will then be connected to the camera.

After connecting to the camera’s Wi-Fi network, there may be a prompt to connect to a different network, Press ‘Cancel’ to continue using the camera’s Wi-Fi network.

Charging

  1. Connect the magnetic end of the magnetic charging cable to the magnetic charging port.
  2. Plug the USB end of the cable into an adapter and plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. Turn on the wall outlet and the camera will begin charging.
    A red LED will illuminate when the camera is charging. A full charge typically takes around two hours. Following a full charge, the red LED will turn off.
