CREATING A DONUT CANDLE

Makes 2 Donut Candle
Tips: Read through instructions before starting 1x donut candle requires 3 equal portions of soy wax and beeswax at a ratio of 1:1 (or 13g soy wax and 13g beeswax combined)

  1. Take out the metal needle, thread the candle wick through the end of the metal needle, then use the tip of the needle to penetrate the center of the base of the silicone mould. (Fig. 1-2)
  2. Please reserve 5-10cm of the candle wick at each end of the silicone mould.
  3. Thread the candle wick which is positioned at the top of the silicon mould through the middle of the supplied wooden candle wick holder. Ensure that you place it tightly in the middle of the silicone mould. (Fig. 4)
  4. Put on the supplied disposable gloves and begin making your candle.
  5. Divide the soy wax and beeswax into 6 equal portions. (Note: one layer of the mould requires o ratio of 11. (fig.6-7). Then add 1 of the 6 soy/beeswax parts into a heating dish to make the first layer.
  6.  Stir using the wooden muddler until the wax pieces are completely melted and add in your chosen candle dye (Note: to test the colour, you can drop a small amount of wax on paper. If it is too light. you can continue to add more candle dye until you achieve your desired colour.)
  7. After ensuring there are no bubbles present in the wax liquid (Note: you can use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the wax liquid, which needs to be heated to 70-80 degrees Celsius.) Pour wax into the mould to fill the first loyer.
  8.  While waiting for the first layer of wax to solidity, clean out the heating dish (Note: ensure the dish is completely dry before using again) and prepare to make the second and third layers by repeating steps 5-7. (Fig 9-11)
  9. When adding the final layer of the wax liquid and the liquid begins to reach the top of the silicon mold, ensure that you leave a gap of 1-2mm between the liquid and the candle wick holder to avoid uneven modeling. (Fig. 12)
  10. Wait 3-4 hours until the wax has completely hardened, remove the candle wick holder, then gently peel back the silicone mould to reveal your candle. Cut any excesswick (Fig. 13-15)
