Introduction
We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the first time. In addition, please carefully refer to the operating instructions and the safety advice below. Only use the product as instructed and only for the indicated field of application. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
-
Care and use
Save energy! To avoid heat loss, choose a hotplate with a diameter that matches the diameter of the product. -
Effective bottom diameter approx.:
- 444646 (240 mm): Ø 164 mm
- 444340 (280 mm): Ø 180 mm
-
Remove all labels from the product prior to use and rinse with clean water. Before using the product for the first time, boil it out with water 2 to 3 times to completely remove all manufacturing residues. Lightly grease the product. Do not overheat the product while empty or filled to prevent the nonstick effect from weakening due to damage to the coating.
-
Risk of overheating! When fat-free food comes in contact with non-oiled, overheated cookware, slight discolourations of the non-stick coating might occur due to the burning of proteins. Such discolourations are signs of wear and do not affect the quality of the coating and its fitness for use.
-
Heat up the food at a high / medium heat setting and then let it cook at a lower heat setting until ready.
-
Never leave the product unsupervised while the grease is warming: Overheated grease can ignite. Never attempt to extinguish grease fires with water! Smother the flames with a lid or a dense wool blanket.
-
Only use plastic or wooden kitchen utensils to prevent damaging the non-stick coating. Do not cut food directly in the product.
-
Do not add dripping wet meat to the product. Grease splatting onto a glowing hob can easily cause a fire.
-
The handle may heat during cooking. Use a pot holder or grill gloves for your protection.
-
The product is suitable for gas, electric, glass ceramic, induction and halogen cooker hobs.
-
Note for induction hobs: A noise may occur under certain conditions, resulting from the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the product. This is totally normal and does not imply that your induction hob or your product is damaged. Place the product in the middle of the induction hotplate.
-
ATTENTION! High heatingup rate! Do not overheat the product when preheating. The room must be aired out well, in the event the product overheats.
-
This product combines the benefits of aluminium cookware, such as low weight and high thermal conductivity, with the benefits of cooking with induction. To enable this, magnetic steel elements have been inserted in the aluminium base. Consequently the base is not magnetic throughout, so that on induction hobs that are significantly greater than the base diameter, it can happen that the induction coils do not react. This is not a quality defect and does not represent any impairment of the functionality. So that the product functions perfectly, always place it on the hob corresponding to the effective base diameter stated in this manual.
-
High temperatures may discolour the exterior of the product. This does not indicate faulty material, nor does it impair the product’s quality or function.
-
Never hold the hot product under cold running water. The underside of the product may be damaged or fall off.
-
The product is suitable for keeping dishes warm inside the oven (max. 160 °C for 1 hour).
-
This product is suitable for dishwashers.
-
Handwash with hot water and common washing-up liquid. Avoid using sharp or pointy objects or brushes to avoid damaging the material.
-
Do not clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
-
Frequently cleaning of the product with harsh cleaners may damage it and can cause discolouration.
-
Aluminium pieces may discolour when placed in the dishwasher.
-
ATTENTION! RISK OF SCRATCHES! Do not move the product back and forth on glass-ceramic hobs!
-
To prevent scratches on the glass ceramic cooking surface, always lift the pan before changing its position on the cooking surface. We are not liable for damage which could otherwise result. When pans with an exposed aluminium base are moved back and forth on ceramic surfaces, this can leave marks. These marks can generally be removed with a ceramic cleaner.
-
We recommend before cooking to wipe briefly the surface of the hob and the product bottom with a clean, lint-free cloth (e.g. microfibre) to reduce the risk of scratches.
-
CAUTION! When pouring out hot liquids, be especially careful and cautious – otherwise there is a risk of scalding. Do not pour the liquid hastily, but ensure a steady flow. Make sure that no other persons, especially children, are in the immediate vicinity when pouring.
-
ATTENTION! If necessary, use an oven mitt or comparably effective personal protective equipment (PPE) when pouring.
-
CAUTION! Immediately wipe off hot oil or other liquids that run down the pot or drip onto the cooking surface during pouring with a suitable cloth. Otherwise there is a risk of fire.
-
Food safe : This product does not affect the taste or odour of prepared foods.
-
Never use the product if the handle is loose. Retighten the screw joint of the handle if necessary.
-
Ensure sufficient ventilation to avoid heavy smoke in an enclosed environment.
-
This product is not suitable for deep frying!
