Information concerning these operating instructions
Congratulations! You have purchased a high-quality product. Familiarise
yourself with the product before assembly and before using it for the first
time. Please read the following assembly and operating instructions and safety
notices carefully. Use the product only as described and for the range of
applications specified. Retain these instructions for future reference. Please
also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s).
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for the weighing of food in private
households. It is not intended for commercial or industrial applications. This
appliance may only be used when fully assembled.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by failure to
observe these instructions, improper use, incompetent repairs, unauthorised
modifications or for the use of non-approved replacement parts.

NOTE The appliance is delivered with a transport safety device. This device is attached with screws and washers. You do not need the washers to assemble the appliance! Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible damage. If any items are missing or damaged as a result of defective packaging or insufficient care during transportation, contact the Service hotline (see the section Service) .

Safety guidelines
To ensure the safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines
set out below:
WARNING RISK OF INJURY!
- Prior to use, check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not operate an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.
- People who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities, are incapable of operating the appliance safely may only use the appliance under the supervision or direction of a responsible person.
- Do not allow children to use the appliance unless they are being supervised.
- Ensure that you do not put your fingers between the bowl and the scale when you are filling the bowl. Risk of crash injuries!
- All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose significant risks to the user. They will also invalidate any warranty claim.
****CAUTION PROPERTY DAMAGE
- Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement parts. Compliance with safety requirements can only be guaranteed if original replacement parts are used.
- Do not allow any liquids or moisture to get into the appliance.
- Do not place any objects on the scale when it is not in use .
- Protect the appliance against knocks, dust, chemicals, extremes of temperature, etc . and keep it away from sources of heat (ovens, radiators) .
- Do not press down on the weighing mechanism.
- Do not press on the plastic cover of the weight display.
- Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures.
- Do not load the scale with more than 5 kg. The scale could be irreparably damaged.
Preparation
Unpacking

Remove all parts of the scale and the operating instructions from the box .

Remove all packaging material from the scales.
-
Remove the transport safety device (white polystyrene foam): Unscrew the two screws 2 using a slotted screwdriver. Remove the screws and washers. Keep the screws 2 . You can dispose of the washers.
Remove the transport safety device and dispose of it. -
Clean the appliance as described in the section “Cleaning and Care”.
WARNING RISK OF SUFFOCATION!
Do not allow children to play with packaging materials. There is a risk of
suffocation.
Disposal of packaging materials
** The packaging protects the appliance from damage during carriage. The
packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness
and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable. Returning the packaging to
the materials cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste
that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in
accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE** If possible, keep the original packaging of the appliance during the
warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly for returning in
the event of a warranty claim.
Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material
components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with
abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 17: Plastics
2022: Paper and cardboard 8098: Composites
Installation
- Place the scales on a level, firm surface.
- Place the cradle 3 on the two protruding pins 4. The holes for screws 2 must be above the gaps for pins 4 .
- Push the screws 2 through the holes in the cradle 3 from above and screw them in using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Place the weighing bowl 1 on the cradle 3.
NOTE The appliance may only be used when fully assembled .
Weighing food
CAUTION PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not load the scale with more than 5 kg. The scale could be irreparably
damaged.
- If you have not done this already: place the weighing bowl 1 on cradle 3 .
- Turn the zero setting wheel 5 until the pointer 6 points to zero (5 kg). 3 . Place the food in the weighing bowl 1 . Pointer 6 shows the weight on a scale 7.
Cleaning and care
CAUTION PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not allow any liquids to get into the scale. This could impair the
functionality of the appliance. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
These could damage the upper surfaces of the appliance.
- Wipe the scales with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Wipe off any detergent residue using a cloth moistened with clean water only .
- Remove the weighing bowl 1 from cradle 3 and wash it in warm water and a mild detergent. Afterwards, rinse it with plenty of clean water to remove all detergent residues. Dry the weighing bowl 1 thoroughly.
NOTE You can also washbowl 1 in the dishwasher!
Storage
Store the scales in a clean and dry location. Do not place any objects in the
weighing bowl 1 during storage.
Disposal of the appliance
Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally friendly manner. Dispose of the
appliance via an approved waste disposal company or your municipal waste
disposal facility. Please observe applicable regulations. Please contact your
waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt.
Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how
to dispose of the worn-out product.
The product is recyclable, subject to extended producer responsibility and is
collected separately.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this
product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your
statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described
below.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt
in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date
of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for
you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion) . This warranty service
requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase
(receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written
description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired
or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the
beginning of a new warranty period.
The warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty.
This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects
present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking.
Repairs carried out after the expiry of the warranty period shall be subject
to a fee .
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality
guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does
not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile
parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches,
batteries or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used
or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the
product regarding the proper use of the product are to be strictly followed.
Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which
are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial
purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper
handling, use of force and modifications/repairs which have not been carried
out by one of our authorised service centres.

Please have the till receipt and the item number (e .g . IAN 123456_7890) available as proof of purchase.

You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.

If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.

You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and
information about what the defect is and when it occurred. -
