Product Usage Instructions

Before First Use

  • Important: Always place and operate the appliance on a flat, solid, clean, dry, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Warning: Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid to clean it.
  • Apply cooking oil to the cooking plates and rub it in with a paper towel before using the waffle maker for the first time.

How To Use Your Waffle Maker

  1. Clean the baking surfaces with a damp cloth before using the appliance. Dry it with a paper towel.
  2. Close the appliance and plug it into a mains power outlet. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the waffle maker is heating up.
  3. Wait for approximately 1.5 – 2 minutes for the waffle maker to reach the recommended baking temperature. The indicator light will turn off when it’s ready for use.
  4. Brush the baking plates with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  5. Divide the batter into plate holes using a jug, spoon, or piping bag.
  6. Close the upper plate. The indicator light will turn on for another baking cycle. The waffle will be ready in around 5 – 7 minutes.
  7. Check if the waffle is done to your liking. If needed, continue baking until the desired color is achieved.
  8. After toasting, remove the waffle from the grid with a heat-proof synthetic or wooden utensil.
  9. If more baking is needed, wait for the red working light to go off before making additional waffles.
  10. After use, disconnect the power plug from the main power outlet.

Cleaning And Maintenance

Clean the appliance and accessories with a soft brush. Do not use abrasive materials that can damage the appliance.

Storage

  1. Unplug the waffle maker from the main power.

Before First Use

  • IMPORTANT! Always place and operate the appliance on a flat, solid, clean, dry, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Unpack the appliance and check if all parts are there and undamaged. In case of shipping damage or an incomplete package, return the product to Kmart.
  • Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth.
  • WARNING! Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid to clean it.
  • Place the appliance on a flat, heat-resistant stable surface and ensure a minimum of 10cm free space around the appliance. Do not operate your appliance inside a cabinet or directly under a wall cabinet.
  • Plug the appliance into an electrical power outlet.
  • Note: Make sure the voltage indicated on the appliance matches the local voltage before connecting the appliance to the main power. Rated voltage: 220-240V~ 50-60Hz.
  • Allow the appliance to heat up for approximately 5 minutes. Apply a thin coating of cooking oil to the cooking plates and carefully rub it in with a paper towel.
  • You only need to condition the cooking plates when using your waffle maker for the first time.
  • WARNING! The cooking plates will get very hot.
  • NOTE: On first use, there may be a small amount of haze/smoke and an odor emitted from the appliance.
  • This is perfectly normal and will subside after a few minutes of use.
  • Unplug the appliance and now it is ready for use.

How To Use Your Waffle Maker

  1. Before using the appliance, clean the baking surfaces with a damp cloth. Dry it with a paper towel.
  2. Close the appliance and plug it into a mains power outlet socket. The indicator light will light up, indicating that the waffle maker is connected to the main power and begins heating.
  3. It will take approximately 1.5 – 2 minutes to reach the recommended baking temperature. The indicator light will go OFF when the waffle maker is ready for use.
  4. Open the appliance and brush the baking plates with a small amount of vegetable oil.
  5. Divide the batter into plate holes using a jug and spoon or piping bag.
  6. Close the upper plate. The indicator light will turn ON when another baking cycle begins. The waffle will be ready in around 5 – 7 minutes.
  7. Open the appliance and check whether the waffle is sufficiently done. If you prefer a darker one, continue baking until the desired color is achieved.
    • After toasting, open the appliance and remove the waffle from the grid with a heat-proof synthetic or wooden utensil.
  8. If additional baking is required, close the waffle maker to retain heat. Wait until the red working light goes OFF again before making more waffles.
  9. After using the waffle maker, disconnect the power plug from the mains power outlet socket.

NOTE:

  • Gently close the lid and do not slam the lid down, as it may cause the mixture to come out of the mold.
  • Do not open the appliance during the first 2 minutes after filling in the batter. It will cause splitting of the under-baked waffle and make it difficult to remove.

Cleaning And Maintenance

  • CAUTION: Do not immerse the waffle maker in water or a dishwasher!
  • Always unplug your waffle maker from the main power supply before cleaning or during maintenance.
  • Ensure that your waffle maker has completely cooled down before cleaning, as it gets very hot during use.
  • Clean the baking plates and the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth or soft brush. Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the appliance.

  2. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
  3. Clean and dry the appliances and accessories.
    • WARNING! Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
  4. Store the appliance in a clean dry location and out of the reach of children.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter, melted

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Whisk the egg, milk, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix until just incorporated.
  3. Grease the Waffle Maker with butter or coat with a light coat of cooking spray.
    • Slowly pour the batter onto the Waffle Maker until level with the groove. The batter might expand with the heat, apply some pressure on the lid using an oven mitt.
  4. Cook until golden brown and repeat with the remaining batter.
