The VersiCharge BlueTM 80 is an electric vehicle supply
equipment designed for efficient charging of electric vehicles. It
comes with a hardware kit that includes all the necessary

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the EVSE from packaging

Unpack the VersiCharge BlueTM 80 carefully to ensure all
components are present and undamaged.

2. Mounting the bracket

Use the provided lag screws to mount the bracket securely to the
desired location.

3. Mounting the charger base to the wall bracket

Attach the charger base to the wall bracket using the specified
screws in the hardware kit.

4. Wiring Options

Option A: Bottom left entry – Follow the wiring
instructions for this entry point.

Option B: Rear entry – Follow the wiring
instructions for this entry point.

5. Set the maximum current switch

Adjust the maximum current switch according to your charging
requirements.

6. Close the charger

Securely close the charger after completing all wiring and
setup.

· The maximum rated ambient temperature of this device is 122°F (50°C). · This equipment should be installed at least 18 inches above floor or ground level. · To maintain Type 4 enclosure rating, use listed conduit fitting rated Type 4 or 4X.

Remove all components from the packaging. Set aside the holster and decorative cover . Exercise caution to ensure that the holster and decorative cover do not get scratched.
If you are mounting the EVSE to a stud, proceed to STEP 2A. Skip to STEP 2B if you are mounting to drywall without utilizing a stud. Skip to STEP 2C if you are mounting to a masonry wall or to a drywall using anchors. Use a stud finder to locate the stud to which the EVSE will be mounted to. The top bracket hole should be between 35″ to 60″ from the floor. If you are wiring through the rear, line up the mounting bracket to allow for the branch circuit conductors to pass through the opening. Use a level to align the bracket and mark the two center mounting holes. Use a drill with a 5/32″ bit to drill pilot holes into stud at the marked locations. Align the bracket on the wall and mount it by installing two (2) 1/4″ x 2″ hex lag bolts into the wall using the 7/16″ socket to tighten to the wall (refer to Figure 2). Proceed to STEP 3.
NOTICE
Concrete anchors must be used. VersiCharge 80 can be mounted using (2) 3/8″ x 1-3/4 concrete screw anchors.
The top bracket hole should be between 35″ to 60″ from the floor. If you are wiring through the rear, line up the mounting bracket to allow for the branch circuit conductors to pass through the opening. Use a level to align the bracket and mark the two center mounting holes. Mount the bracket to the wall using two 1/4″ diameter concrete anchors, based on their respective instructions. If you are utilizing a dual post mount, refer to the online post installation guide, available at the following QR code:

Using the T-20 torque drive, remove the two (2) screws to detach the main cover from the EVSE. Retain the screws, setting them aside in a safe location.
Remove the internal barrier from the base as shown in Figure 5.
Place the coupler aside to prevent it from being damaged. Align the T-feature between the EVSE and wall mount and then slide the EVSE onto the wall mount. Using the four (4) M4 x 0.7 x 45mm mounting screws, securely attach the EVSE to the mounting bracket (as shown in Figure 6). Torque to 16 in-lbs. (1.8 Nm).
CAUTION
Ensure that all lug nuts and bolts are torqued correctly and as specified.

NOTICE
The charger will need to be mounted on the bracket to hardwire the device.
Install 1″ flexible conduit and NPT connector per the manufacturer’s installation instructions and route the wires into the enclosure.
NOTICE
Straight liquid tight Arlington 1″ NPT conduit (part number NMLT10-1) is recommended. Additionally, any standard 90 degree 1″ NPT conduit is suitable for usage as well.
Route three (3) conductors (90°C 600V copper wire) and connect per Figure 8 (the wiring diagram). Using a 5/32″ hex head bit, tighten connections according to the wiring torque table (Table 1).

Remove the factory sealing plug from rear entry and move the hole seal to the bottom hole

Locate the sealing plug and install it to the base of the charger. Place the nut on the inside of the enclosure and torque to a value of 75 to 80 in-lbs. (8.5 to 9 Nm).

Remove the hole seal from the rear hole in the EVSE. Install the hole seal in the open bottom hole as shown in Figure 10.

Install 1″ conduit and fitting

Install 1″ NPT and fit in accordance with provided conduit instructions.

NOTICE
The charger will need to be mounted on the bracket to hardwire the device.
Install 1″ flexible conduit and NTP connector per the manufacturer’s installation instructions and route the wires into the enclosure. For indoor installations where a watertight seal is not needed, conduit is not required. Wires can be routed directly through the rear hole.
NOTICE
Straight liquid tight Arlington 1″ NPT conduit (part number NMLT10-1) is recommended. Additionally, any standard 90 degree 1″ NPT conduit is suitable for usage as well.

The maximum current setting switch is factory set to Position 7 ­ 80A; to reduce risk of fire, verify that the setting aligns with branch circuit and feeder ratings supplying the unit, according to the NEC. If this EVSE is installed on a branch circuit rated less than 100A, the maximum output current must be reduced to meet the requirements of the NEC.
This EVSE can be installed on a branch circuit rated less than 100A if the maximum output current is reduced as specified in Table 4. If the output current is reduced below 100A, the adjusted rating must be displayed on the product label using the derating label supplied in the EVSE kit.

If the unit is equipped with Ethernet communications, locate the factory- installed 16mm liquid tight sealing plug on the bottom of the unit. Pierce the membrane and feed approximately 12″ to 14″ of communication cable into the unit. Let the cable hang down outside of the unit and install the barrier (that was removed in Step 3B on page) but do not use the screws to hold it in place. While holding the internal barrier in place, route the Ethernet cable over the top of the barrier as shown in Figure 12 to ensure that the length reaches the Ethernet adaptor.
If the cable is not sufficient or is too long, adjust the cable length accordingly. Once the length is correct, use the specified screws to attach the barrier to the enclosure. After this has been completed, terminate the connector to the wire, route it through the wiring guides and plug it into the Ethernet adapter as shown in Figure 13. If you are routing RS-485 cable instead of Ethernet cable, apply the same routing method.
If you are not using Ethernet cable, place the internal barrier on top of the base and install, push it in, and torque the screws.

NOTICE
Ensure that the gasket is fully seated in the cover groove (it should not protrude above/beyond the groove), with no visible twists or breaks.
Replace the structural cover on the unit and attach using the eight (8) M4 x 0.7 x 16 mm screws (the two retained when removed earlier and 6 from the hardware kit). Torque to 16 in-lbs. (1.8 Nm) using the Torx head (T20) bit. Torque in the order shown (shown in Figure 15) for the proper sealing of the cover.
Carefully align the decorative cover with the structural cover. Hook the decorative on top, rotate towards the bottom, and firmly press the decorative cover in place, ensuring that all snaps are fully seated.
Using the Torx head (T20) bit, install, push in and hand tighten two (2) M4 x 0.7 x 10mm locking screws on the bottom of the decorative cover. Do not over push or overtighten.

Mount the cable holster in an acceptable location within close proximity of the EVSE. If you are installing a charger in a public environment, the cable holster must be mounted at least 18 inches above the ground if being installed indoors or at least 24 inches above the ground if being installed outdoors. Whether installing indoors or outdoors, the cable holster should be mounted no more than 48 inches above the ground. Locate the stud with the stud finder. Line up the holster on the stud; use the level to align the holster and mark the two center mounting holes. Use the drill with the 7/32″ bit to drill pilot holes into the stud. Align the holster on the wall and install two (2) 3/8″ x 2-1/2″ hex lag bolts into the wall using the 9/16″ socket to push and tighten the holster to the wall.
