Product Usage Instructions

  • WAN Interface: Use an Ethernet cable to connect the WAN interface to your WAN modem.
  • Ethernet Interfaces: Connect one of the interfaces ETH 1 to ETH 3 to your PC or LAN switch using the enclosed Ethernet cable.
  • USB Interface: Connect a USB data medium or a USB printer to the USB interface (cable not supplied).
  • Serial USB-C Configuration Interface: Use a USB-C cable for optional configuration of the device on the serial console (cable not included).
  • Power Supply Connection: Use only the supplied power adapter and ensure it is professionally installed at a nearby accessible power socket.

Setting Up the Device

  • Use enclosed self-adhesive rubber pads when setting up on a table.
  • Avoid placing objects on top of the device and do not stack multiple devices.
  • Keep all ventilation slots clear of obstructions.
  • Rack installation is possible with the optional LANCOM Rack Mount / Rack Mount Plus (separately available).

LED Description & Technical Details

  • Power LED: Indicates device status – off, green permanently, red/green blinking, etc.
  • Online LED: Indicates online status – off, green blinking, green permanently, red permanently, etc.
  • WAN LED: Indicates WAN connection status – off, green permanently, green flickering, etc.

FAQ

  • Q: Can I use third-party accessories with the LANCOM 1650E?
  • A: No, support for third-party accessories is not provided. Please use only recommended accessories for optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Q: How do I know if my WAN connection is active?
  • A: Check the WAN LED status – if it is green permanently or flickering, your WAN connection is active. If it is off, there is no connection.

Mounting & connecting

  1. WAN interface
    Use an Ethernet cable to connect the WAN interface to your WAN modem.

  2. Ethernet interfaces
    Use the enclosed Ethernet cable to connect one of the interfaces ETH 1 to ETH 3 to your PC or a LAN switch.

  3. USB interface
    Connect a USB data medium or a USB printer to the USB interface. (cable not supplied)

  4. Serial USB-C configuration interface
    A USB-C cable can be used for optional configuration of the device on the serial console. (cable not included)

  5. Power supply connection socket
    Use only the supplied power adapter!

The additional power LED statuses are displayed in a 5-second rotation if the device is configured to be managed by the LANCOM Management Cloud.

This product contains separate open-source software components which are subject to their licenses, in particular the General Public License (GPL). The license information for the device firmware (LCOS) is available on the device‘s WEBconfig interface under “Extras > License information“. If the respective license demands, the source files for the corresponding software components will be made available on a download server upon request.
