SWITCHING YOUR LAPTOP ON AND OFF

  • To switch your laptop ON, press and hold the “On/Off” button 18 for 3 seconds.
  • To switch your laptop OFF, press and hold the “On/Off” button 18 for 3 seconds. Select “Turn off” and select “OK”.
  • To put your laptop to sleep, briefly press the On/Off 18 button or the lock button 11. To exit standby mode, briefly press the On/Off button again. A padlock appears at the bottom of the screen; slide it up to unlock the laptop.
  • Note: If the battery level is too low, the laptop will not switch on. Charge it for a few minutes and then try again.
  • In the event of a malfunction: To force the laptop to switch off, press the “On/Off” button 18 for 8 seconds.
  • To restart the laptop, press the “On/Off” button 18 again for 3 seconds. Your data will not be erased from the laptop.

CHARGE YOUR LAPTOP

To charge your laptop, you need to plug it into an electrical socket:

  • Plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the laptop 4, connect the other end to the mains adapter supplied, and then plug the mains adapter into an electrical socket.
  • CAUTION: The help of an adult is required when plugging in, to avoid forcing and breaking the USB-C plug.
  • We also recommend that you do not use the laptop while it is being charged.

INTERFACES

This laptop offers two interfaces:

  • The Lexibook® interface, is safe and easy to use, allowing parents to control the amount of time the laptop is used and the applications available to each user.
  • The Android ™ interface, for more freedom than on a classic Android device. This is the interface that appears on the first switch-on.
  • Before giving the laptop to your child, make sure it is on the Lexibook® interface by clicking on the “Lexibook” icon on the home screen.

INSTALLATION Lexibook interface

  • Note: Before launching the installation of the Lexibook Interface, connect to your Google Play account via the Play Store application on the computer desktop. This will give you full access to the applications available on the Lexibook Interface.
  • Press “Get started”. The installation of the child interface will begin.
  • The instructions for each step will appear on the screen. Click on the green arrow.
  • Then click on “Allow from this source”, and then on the back button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Then click on “Allow access to manage all files” and then on the back button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click on “UPDATE”.
  • Click on “OPEN”.
  • The instructions for each step appear on the screen.
  • Select “Lexibook”.
  • Click on “Authorise access to usage data” and then on the “Back” button at the bottom of the screen twice.
  • Select “Lexibook” then press the “back” button at the bottom of the screen twice
  • Your interface is now installed. A tutorial is available to help you find out how to use it.

INSTALLATION Android Interface

  1. Select the desired language by clicking on the little arrow. Then click on “Start.
  2. The computer will then ask you to connect to Wi-Fi. To make it easier to start the computer, click on “Set up offline” in the bottom right-hand corner.
    • Note: you can connect to Wi-Fi later by going to Settings.
  3. Click on “Continue.
  4. Change the city, date, and time, and click on the “Next button.
  5. Select or deselect Google’s confidentiality rules and click “Accept.
  6. Click on “Skip anyway.
  7. Your interface is now installed! You can use your computer as you wish!

PARENTAL CONTROL

  • In the Lexibook® interface, click on the padlock, then enter your parental password.
  • Have you forgotten your password?
  • On the password screen, click on the “Key” icon and follow the instructions.

APPLICATION MANAGEMENT

Application management allows parents to manage access to applications for each profile.

  1. Select “Manage apps.
  2. Select the profile you wish to manage.
  3. Classify applications in the desired categories
    • Note: The “Allow child to categorize an app after installation” option allows the user to insert an application into a category and access it immediately after installation. Deactivate this option if you wish to manage applications manually.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Time management allows you to limit the amount of time you can access the tablet.

  1. Select “Time management.
  2. Choose the parameters that suit and confirm with
    • CAUTION: To ensure that time management functions correctly do not change the date/time settings when it is date/time settings when it is activated.

LEXIBOOK APPLICATIONS

If you did not install the Lexibook fun and educational applications during the installation of the child interface, you can install them by clicking on “Applis Lexibook.

ACTIVATE AND DEACTIVATE WI-FI

  • You can also access it by clicking with the mouse on the Wi-Fi icon on the top right of the screen.
  • Slide the switch to the right to activate Wi-Fi; the tablet will display the available wireless networks.
  • Choose a network to connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Slide the switch to the left to deactivate Wi-Fi.
  • Note: When Wi-Fi is activated, the icon appears at the top right of the screen.
  • The fuller the cone, the stronger the Wi-Fi signal.

  • To launch Qwant Junior, click on the icon

  • You can also do the same with the mouse by clicking and sliding up.

The symbols mean

WARNINGS:
