Before using the unit, be sure to read all operating instructions carefully. Please note that these are general precautions and may not pertain to your unit.

  1. Read these instructions.
  2. Keep, these instructions.
  3. Heed all warnings.
  4. Follow all instructions.
  5. Do not use this product near water or moisture, for example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool. No objects containing water, such as vases, should be placed on the unit.
  6. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a dry cloth for cleaning only.
  7. Do not block slots or openings. These are provided for ventilation, to ensure the reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating. The openings should never be blocked by newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc.
  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one Wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point Where they exit from the apparatus.
  11. Only use attachments or accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Only use with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. Use caution when moving a cart/ microphOne speaker combination to avoid injury from the apparatus tipping over.
  13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or When unused for long periods of time.
  14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required When the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as damage to the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus; and/or the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture and does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  15. This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your hOme, consult your appliance dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instructions.
  16. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. Use only the power source as indicated.
  17. Never push objects of any Kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in fire or electric shock. Never spill or spray any type of liquid on the product.
  18. Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  19. Use replacement parts as specified tJy the manufacturer.
  20. Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, asK the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.
  21. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  22. To be completely disconnected from the power input, the main plug shall be disconnected from the mains, as the disconnect device is the plug.
  23. It should be easily accessed during intended use.
  24. Minimum distances of 10 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
  25. The ventilation shOuld not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings With items such as newspaper, table cloths, curtains etc.
  26. No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the apparatus.
  27. Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  28. Use the apparatus in moderate climates.
  29. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.

  31. The mains switch is used as a disconnect device and to completely disconnect the apparatus from mains supply, the mains switch must be switched to “OFF” position and the mains switch of the apparatus shOuld not be obstructed OR should be easily accessed during intended use.

POWER SOURCES

The Karaoke Micro Star’ 2 operates on AC 230V – 50Hz.

AC operation

  1. Check that the unit is switched off.
  2. Plug the AC polarized line cord (included) into a convenient AC 230V- 50 Hz power outlet.

Note:

The AC pl:ug supplied with this unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug does not fit into a non- polarized AC power outlet, do not attempt to file or cut the blade. Have a qualified electrician replace the obsolete outlet. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
WARNING : Malfunction or loss of memory may be caused by strong frequency interference or electrostatic discharge. Should any abnormal function occur, unplug the AC cable from the mains socket and plug it back in.

Before using the Karaoke Micro Staf¢2, download songs in karaoke format from the internet onto your multimedia player (not included). Please refer to your multimedia
player’s manual for instructions.

CONNECTIONS

USING A SECOND MICROPHONE

To use a second microphOne, insert tne mic into the holder. Insert the microphOne plug into the Mic 2 jacK on the side of the amp.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL UNIT

To connect an external unit sucn as an electronic instrument: guitar, Keyboard .. or a COG player (not included) to tne Karaoke Micro Star<>2, simply connect an RCA/Audio cable (not included) from the RCA/Audio input jacK to tneAUX OUT jack on tne external unit. Tnis Will enable you to broadcast sound from tnis external unit tnrougn tne Karaoke Micro Star<‘2’s speakers. Please ensure ootn units are switcned on. Use tne master volume control to adjust tne sound level.

Notes:

  • Please refer to tne external unit’s owner manual before connecting.
  • Make sure tne power is off and ootn units are unplugged before connecting an external unit.
  • Tne Line-in cable cannot be connected at tne same time as tne RCA/Audio-in cable.

STAND ADJUSTMENT

To raise or lower tne top stand bar, rotate tne connector/adjustment Knob anti­clockwise to loosen and slide tne top stand oar up or down. Rotate clockwise to secure.

Standby Mode

After this product remains inactive for more than 1.5 minutes, the unit will switch to the standby mode (the LCD display will swrtch oil and the red LED will switch on).
Please press the ‘VOICE” button to resume working. The red LED will then switch oil and the LCD screen will resume working, showing the last information displayed.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

SYMPTOM CAUSE SOLUTION
SQuealing through the speakers Microphone feedback. Keep the microphone as

far away from the speakers as the microphone cable allows or reduce the volume until the noise stops. If using a commercial CD or MP3, make sure

the balance control is set to the centre position so you can hear both vocal and music tracks equally.

No sound from speakers| Master volume control is set to minimum.| Use the master volume control• to increase the overall volume.
Power is off.| Turn power button on and LCD display will

switch on.

Standby mode

is on

| Press the ‘VOICE” button to resume working.
I can’t hear myself singing| Microphone is not plugged in.| Plug microphone into Mic 1 or Mic 2 jack.
Volume is too low.| Turn Mic 1 or Mic 2 volume control up.
No sound from multimedia player| Cable is not

connected correctly.

| Check the Line-in cable is connected from the

multimedia player’s line-out jack to the Media-in jack.

MAINTENANCE

To prevent fire or shocK hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning. The finish on your unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth
and cared for as other furniture. Use a soft, clean cloth moistened with plain, luKewarm water to clean the exterior of the unit. Use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts. Mild soap and a damp cloth may be used on the front panel.
