Getting to know SkyBox
Your new SkyBox allows your commercial equipment to have a CTA-2045-B port to
communicate to the grid to shift the time of use of your device to benefit the
grid, reduce your costs, and maintain your comfort.

- RESET: A button which can be pressed to factory reset the SkyBox. See Table 1 for more information.
- QR SYMBOL : The QR symbol has information that may be scanned.

Review the Requirements
To start, ensure you have the SkyBox, equipment with modbus or bacnet
communications, and the appropriate power cord. Read and follow all
instructions in the manual.
To get started, you will need:
- Your SkyBox
- Your equipment that has modbus or bacnet communications
- NEMA 5-15P IEC-320- C13 AC Power Cord
- (Rating 10 A / 125 VAC) *, NEMA 6-15P IEC-320- C13 AC Power Cord
- (Rating 10 A / 250 VAC), or NEMA L21-30P to IEC320-C13 Power Cord (Rating 15 A / 208 VAC)

Install the SkyBox
- Plug the equipment modbus or bacnet communications into the ethernet RJ-45 port .
- Plug power into the SkyBox.
- Connect to your LTE network
Your SkyBox only needs to be plugged in to connect automatically to the grid.

The SkyBox will automatically connect to the grid once plugged in.
Participation in Your Utility Energy Management Program
The SkyBox allows your equipment to respond intelligently to grid conditions,
supporting efficiency and reliability. Follow LED status indicators for system
health. Energy Management Program The SkyBox enables your commercial equipment
to be informed of power grid conditions and to respond intelligently when a
CTA-2045 Universal Communications Module (UCM) is installed and successfully
connects to the grid. This allows your equipment to become a CTA-2045 Smart
Grid Device (SGD) to support the grid. Your utility’s energy management
program may collectively optimize power use when necessary to support the
power grid. The result is a more efficient and reliable system. This also
helps maintain lower electricity rates.
Warning :
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment has a grounding type
plug, that has a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a
grounding type outlet. If the plug does not fit into the outlet, contact a
qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in
any way.
