Using Your Dishwasher

Before Using Your Dishwasher

Before using your dishwasher for the first time:

  • Set the water softener
  • Add salt to the water softener
  • Load the basket
  • Fill the detergent dispenser

Adding Salt to the Water Softener

Note:  If your model does not have a water softener, you may skip this section. Always use dishwasher salt intended for use with dishwashers. The salt container is located beneath the lower basket and should be filled as explained below:

Warning

Only use salt specifically designed for dishwashers! Any other type of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. In case of damage caused by the use of unsuitable salt, the manufacturer does not provide a warranty and is not liable for any damage.

Follow these steps to add dishwasher salt:

  1. Remove the lower basket and unscrew the reservoir cap.
  2. Place the end of the funnel (if provided) into the hole and pour in about 1.5 kg of dishwasher salt.
  3. Fill the salt container with water. It is normal for a small amount of water to come out of the salt container.
  4. After filling, screw the cap tightly back on.
  5. The salt indicator light will go out after the salt container has been filled with salt.
  6. Immediately after filling the salt into the salt container, a washing program should be started (we recommend a short program). Otherwise, the filter system, pump, or other important parts of the machine may be damaged by salty water. This is not covered by the warranty.

Note:  The salt container should only be refilled when the salt indicator light ( ) on the control panel comes on. Depending on how well the salt dissolves, the salt indicator light may still be on even though the salt container is filled. If there is no salt indicator light on the control panel (for some models), you can estimate when to refill the salt into the softener based on the number of cycles the dishwasher has run. If salt is spilled, run a soak or quick program to remove it.

Loading the Dishwasher

Follow these steps to load the dishwasher:

  1. Pull out the lower and upper baskets, load the dishes, and push them back. It is advisable to load the lower basket first and then the upper one.
  2. Pour the detergent into the dispenser.
  3. Plug the dishwasher into the power outlet. Ensure that the water supply is turned on to full pressure.
  4. Close the door, press the On/Off button.
  5. Select a program, the corresponding indicator will light up. Then press the Start/Pause button, the dishwasher will start its cycle.

Adjusting the Upper Basket

The height of the upper basket can be easily adjusted to accommodate larger plates in either the upper or lower basket. Follow these steps to adjust the height of the upper rack:

  • Lower position: Pull out the upper basket, remove it, and reattach it to the upper or lower rollers.
  • Higher position: Push the upper basket up until both sides are at the same height. The basket will click into place.

Folding Down the Cup Rack

To make room for larger items in the basket, you can fold the cup rack up. You can lean larger glasses against the rack. You can also remove the rack if you do not use it.

Folding Down the Plate Rack

The rack can be folded down to make room for larger items.

Maintenance and Cleaning

External Care

The Door and Door Seal

Clean the door seals regularly with a soft damp cloth to remove food particles. When loading the dishwasher, food and drink residues may drip onto the sides of the door. These surfaces are outside the washing compartment and are not reached by the water from the spray arms. Any residues should be wiped off before the door is closed.

The Control Panel

If cleaning is necessary, the control panel should be cleaned only with a soft damp cloth.

Warning

To avoid penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spray cleaner. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the outer surfaces because they may scratch the finish. Some paper towels may also scratch or leave marks on the surface.

Internal Care

Filter System

The filter system at the bottom of the washing compartment traps coarse debris from the washing cycle, including foreign objects such as toothpicks or shards of glass. The collected coarse debris may clog the filters. Check the condition of the filters regularly and carefully remove any foreign objects and clean the parts of the filter system if necessary with water. Follow the steps below to clean the filter:

  1. Hold the coarse filter and rotate it counterclockwise to unlock it. Lift the filter up and out of the dishwasher.
  2. The fine filter can be pulled out of the bottom of the filter assembly. The coarse filter can be detached from the main filter by gently squeezing the tabs at the top and pulling it away.
  3. Larger food particles can be removed by rinsing the filter under running water. For a more thorough cleaning, use a soft cleaning brush.
  4. Reassemble the filters in reverse order of disassembly, replace the filter insert, and rotate clockwise to the closed arrow.

Warning

Do not overtighten the filters. Ensure the filters are properly seated. Otherwise, coarse debris could get into the system and cause a blockage. Never use the dishwasher without filters. Improper replacement of the filter may reduce the performance of the appliance and damage dishes and utensils.

Spray Arms

Follow the instructions below to clean the spray arms:

  1. To remove the upper spray arm, hold the nut and rotate the arm clockwise.
  2. To remove the lower spray arm, pull the spray arm upwards.
  3. Wash the arms in soapy warm water and use a soft brush to clean the jets. Replace them after thorough rinsing.

Caring for the Dishwasher

Protection Against Freezing

Take frost protection measures in winter. After each wash cycle, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply.
  2. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet pipe from the water valve.
  3. Drain the water from the inlet pipe and water valve. (Use a bowl to catch the water)
  4. Reconnect the water inlet pipe to the water valve.
  5. Remove the filter at the bottom of the tub and use a sponge to soak up the water in the sump.

After Each Wash

Turn off the water supply to the appliance and leave the door slightly open so that moisture and odors are not trapped inside the appliance.

Unplug the Appliance

Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning or maintenance.

No Solvents or Abrasive Cleaners

To clean the exterior and rubber parts of the dishwasher, do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products. Use only a cloth with warm soapy water. To remove spots from the surface of the interior, use a cloth dampened with water and a little vinegar, or a cleaning product made specifically for dishwashers.

When Not in Use for a Long Time

It is recommended to run a wash cycle with the dishwasher empty and then unplug the appliance, turn off the water supply, and leave the door of the appliance slightly open. This will help the door seals to last longer and prevent odors from forming within the appliance.

Moving the Appliance

If the appliance must be moved, try to keep it in a vertical position. If absolutely necessary, it can be laid on its back.

Seals

One of the factors that cause odors in the dishwasher is food that remains trapped in the seals. Periodic cleaning with a damp sponge will prevent this.

Installation Instructions

Warning

Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect electrical power before installing the dishwasher. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

Attention

The installation of the pipes and electrical equipment should be carried out by professionals.

About the Electrical Connection

Warning

For personal safety:

  • Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug with this appliance.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the grounding from the power cord.

Electrical Requirements

Please look at the rating label to know the rating voltage and connect the dishwasher to the appropriate power supply. Use the required 10A/13A/16A fuse, time delay fuse, or circuit breaker recommended and provide a separate circuit serving only this appliance.

Electrical Connection

Ensure the voltage and frequency of the power correspond to those on the rating label. Insert the plug only into a properly grounded socket. If the socket to which the appliance must be connected is not suitable for the plug, replace the socket rather than using adapters or similar devices as they could cause overheating and burns.

Water Supply and Drain

Cold Water Connection

Connect the cold water supply hose to a threaded 3/4 inch connector and make sure that it is fastened tightly. If the water pipes are new or have not been used for an extended period, let the water run to make sure that the water is clear. This precaution is needed to avoid the risk of the water inlet getting blocked and damaging the appliance.

Ordinary Supply Hose

Connect the water supply hose to the water inlet valve and tighten it by hand. Do not overtighten the hose as this could damage the threads.
