LISTEN TECHNOLOGIES LA-490 Listen Bluetooth IR Beacon
PARTS DISCRIPTION
- Status LED: Flashes blue under normal operation, flashes red when batteries need to be replaced.
- USB Power/Programming Connector: Powers the device via a USB power supply or allows programming while connected to a PC.
- Battery Access: Powers the device with 2 AA alkaline batteries.
- Cable Trough: Route and retain power supply cable.
- Mounting Holes: Allows mounting to a wall or standard electrical box.
- Retaining Tab: Retains the beacon in the mounting bracket.
- Cable Access: Allows cable access from the electrical box through the mounting bracket.
- Locking Screw: Locks beacon into the mounting bracket to resist tamper.
Installation
- Choose a mounting location with an unobstructed line-of-sight view of the desired trigger area.
- Attach the mounting bracket using the provided hardware/mounting holes or use other mounting alternatives.
- Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries or power the device with the USB power supply.
- Insert the LA-490 beacon into the mounting bracket and secure the device with the locking screw.
Basic Operation
- The beacon is turned ON and OFF when batteries are inserted/ removed, or power is provided or removed via a USB power supply.
- Status LED flashes blue every 5 seconds, indicating the beacon has good batteries and is transmitting beacon information.
- Status LED flashes red every 5 seconds, indicating batteries are low and need to be changed.
- The status LED flashes green every second, indicating the beacon is in program mode.
- Status LED alternates between red and yellow, indicating beacon firmware is being updated.
Setup/Configuration
Download the ListenWIFI Manager software for Windows®, available at www.listenwifi.com/support, to set up and configure your beacon(s).
- Audio Source: Select an available audio channel to play when the beacon is detected.
- Exit Timeout: OFF (default), range 1 second – 5 minutes
- Transmit Mode: Bluetooth (default) or infrared
- Transmit Interval: 1 second (default), range 100 mS – 5 seconds
- Transmit Power: High, Medium (default), or Low
- LED Indicators: ON (default) or OFF
- Low Battery LED: ON (default) or OFF
